Hello monks.

I was going to givre my report on the movie, but I see that there are some who have not seen it as of yet. So I shall wait to give my opinion until another time.

Meanwhile, good wolf, I have a request. Have you any of those s'mores left? Not for me, really. I um, meet some traveling ah, fauns you see who were lost, um, in the woods. Yes, in the woods, and they were out of provisions. So you see, they need something to give them energy.

Sooo, Do you have any?

My fellow monks,

I am returning to you enlightened, having beholdeth the Viewing of Greatness on the afternoon of Friday the Tenth. I am pleased to say that mine expectations were met, and I enjoyed it vastly. Being spoiler-free for these past weeks greatly contributed to mine enjoyment. :D

And after the viewing had ended, I went and got a cappuccino. Though, it was naught but water infused with dirt compared to the sacred brew here at the Monastery, it was still too good an opportunity to pass up. ;))

I have returned to these hallowed halls to encourage those who hath yet to fulfill their vows. But now, if thou will excuse me, I'm going to mine cell to meditate and pray that the box office numbers be enough for the green-lighting of the Chair that is Silver.

*disappears into her cell with a marshmallow-topped cappuccino and a tray of biscotti*

Well, would thou look at that! Wolf, I believe thou art right! Mine sapling has sprouted! Hurray! :D I feared it would not survive away from its natural habitat, but I guess the soil here at the Monestary is pure enough to sustain it.

Yes, it doth need a name! :D I was perusing through the Monestary's library, looking up how to properly name plants, when I stumbled across an interesting find. Apparently, there really is something called a "marshmallow plant" - Althaea officinalis. Normal marshmallows art concocted from its roots. So perhaps Althaea officinalis and the Marshmallow Tree art distant cousins of each other? :-

Even more interesting - when I researched the word officinalis, I found this:

The word officinalis literally means "of or belonging to an officina" - the officina being the storeroom of a monastery, where medicines and other necessaries were kept.

It seems that this tree was destined to find its way to these hallowed halls. ;))

Friends, minions, and countrymen,

I now stand in these hallowed halls and hallowed walls enlightened, for I hath just returned from clapping mine eyne on none other than the Vision. :D I wilt say no more on the topic of the Vision itself, other than to say that it is very worth seeing, and even more so if ye hath deprived yourself of the abomination which art the Spoiler. For as we monks all know, ye wilt doubtless enjoy it more if ye view it with eyes that art pure from such things. ;)

And Silver, who had been standing there the whole time like any good monk would, brought forth from the pocket of her cloak a tiny sprig, with silver bark and golden leaves - an offspring from the legendary marshmallow tree which she had picked up from the ground.

Oh my. Methinks I must wipeth mine eyne! That ist indeed a most fitting and poignant conclusion to endeth this good quest upon. And it cometh with the promise of more beatific marshmallows! It doth not get any better!

I am the monk
that doesn't do anything
I just sit at home and lie around
and if you ask me
to do anything
I'll just tell you
I don't do anything...

My, that ist a lovely song, Lady! Methinks it wouldst go most excellently in a musical!! How doth the name "The Monks that Don't Do Anything" soundeth to thee? Maybe we couldst even turn it into a movie. :D ;))

Grabs megaphone and yells at the top of his lungs PEACE OUT SUCKERS! Jumps in cannon and shoots himself up, through the skylight and into the outside world FAREWELL MY FELLOW MONKS!!!!

I really should of thought this through... Hey is that the gro- ooff.

*Watches Joe the Little plummet to the ground, where Etiteppa, having grown enormously fat from the rigors of the perilous quest, breaks his fall without batting an eyelash as she noms on the grasses surrounding the Monastery*

. . . Taketh a parachute next time, will you? ;))

I will enjoy hearing what you all think of it, and perhaps you may now come visit the lair. :)

That ist most magnanimous of thee, minion! :D Might we monks even have a go at the all-you-can-eat buffet? ;))

And after the viewing had ended, I went and got a cappuccino.

That ist just too perfect for words, my fellow Monk.

Why Silver I doth believe your tree hath sprouted, look!

Indeed there was a little sappling growing, 'twas not even four inches high, but it smelt so beautifully sweet.

Oooh. And it ist shiny, too! :D

It seems that this tree was destined to find its way to these hallowed halls. ;))

*Wipes happy tears out of her eyne and and gives the Silv'ry Wanderer one of the famous super secret monkish high five/handshakes that take about five minutes to complete* ;)) The name thou hath given the little tree and thy research skills art Moste Epic, mine friend. m/

The Monastery hath been a wonderful refuge for me these past few months as we anticipated the Beatific Vision, and I hope it shall continue to be so for those of you who hath not seen it yet and wait so patiently. :D And verily, I wilt not likely depart from these hallowed walls and hallowed halls, for I love this place dearly, until the time hath come for the doors to closeth once again and they kicketh me out. ;))

*Happily sips a cappuccino, and meditates about what she hath seen and heard at the most magical place of Silver Screens*

Comes running up the path with the mutant mutts Kermit, and Poppa Smurf on leashes. Runs around the moastary walls twice before stopping to catch his breath.
Heh.....he.....hellloooo.....gasp..good..monks...wheez.

Sorry, cannot stay..... to chat.

Run. Must.. wear..off.. sugar rush.

Good wolf .....Please hide ..the ..rest of... the s'mores.

I only had two..or three....dozen.

Chocolat...sugar......Why did I...do..that?

I must be ...off.

With the mutts in tow, and barely keeping up, the Marsh-Wiggle starts back down the path at a dead run. One could not tell if the hounds last yelp heard going over the hill was from excitment, or a plea for help.

Meltintalle. That tune sounds a bit familiar. Were you by chance into piracy as a child?

=)) ymwhisle I'm sure thou canst draw thine own conclusions and they wilt be most accurate. :p

It seems that this tree was destined to find its way to these hallowed halls. ;))

Verily, verily, I find that most fascinating and apt. May our sapling grow and be a model specimen. *poureth a bit of cappuccino around the tree in benediction*

Most Excellent of Dryads, methinks I ought to check my existing contracts and engagements before agreeing to a movie. B-) ;)) Besideth, I fear t'would have a limited audience, being a movie about not much of anything. However, if we gave Etiteppa a starring role, we might have something...

Perhaps we should call it Althaea or A.O. ;) or Althaea of ze spoiler free officina....

Me thinks Althaea has a nice ring to it! Verrily well. The A.O. is most happy to be given a name, I'm sure. ;))

*Wipes happy tears out of her eyne and and gives the Silv'ry Wanderer one of the famous super secret monkish high five/handshakes that take about five minutes to complete*

*returns that super secret handshake and looks at the clock* If mine counting skills are correct, I do believe it was more like four minutes and fifteen seconds, not that it makes much of a difference. :P

Oh! And I found this in the pocket of my cloak...I drew a picture of the Marshmallow Tree. See that, Althaea? This is what thou shalt grow up to look like, someday.

*joins Lady Wanderer in watering the A.O. with cappuccino*

Ah, thank you! Yes, of course, please do come visit and eat all you can. ;) And perhaps I may have a cappuccino? *puppy dog eyes*
(P.S. - I like the nickname. ;)) )

Silv'ry Wanderer - what is the origin of the Marshmallow Tree? Or Althaea? Or A.O.? :p Being a fairly new visitor to the Monastery, I am just wondering. :p

And our favorite Marshwiggle seems to be in a bit of trouble, eh? /:)
