MY BOOK CAME FROM CREATESPACE!!!
WOW, I totally did not expect it to come this soon. I thought for sure it would be closer to January, as that what it said the estimated arrival would be. Wow, what a fantastic Christmas present!
Here are some pictures of it (before I mark it up all in red ):
EDIT: This is just the proof copy. I need to edit it and stuff before it goes in for real print. ;P
P.S."Brooklyn!"
Ooh, how exciting, Ryan!!!

How exciting! Congratulations! Your book looks so interesting.
I left Narniaweb for inexplicable reasons in the beginning of June 2010 and probably will not be returning (much as I love this place). So if you're wondering why I disappeared, now you know! (sort of...)
Wow, your book looks great, Rising_Star! Congrats I'm sure you'll be thrilled to have it in your hands!
Just a question, was it easy to configure everything to fit the CreateSpace requirements?
Thanks to malkah for the lovely avatar!
Yeah, it's really exciting.
Wellllll, CreateSpace actually gave no requirements for my book, aside from uploading it into a PDF file (which I just used a free online Word-Doc to PDF converter for) and making a cover (which you can do on the CreateSpace site).
I had to use the book formatting FAQ from Lulu.com to format my NaNo into book form. That and I used Gymfan's NaNo in Word Doc-form for a reference.
I'd recommend using the Lulu.com book formatting FAQ to format your book because CreateSpace doesn't say anything about that. They just print it how you upload it.
P.S."Brooklyn!"
Nioniel. You. Are. AMAZINGLY AWESOME.
You were - what - 15,500 words behind? AND YOU MADE IT. OH MY PLATYPUS.
You go, girl.
*snickers* Aww,thanks. Though it wasn't 15,000 words - I think it was 13,000ish, because I wrote some that Saturday night but didn't update my word count. It was scary, nonetheless.
Cool list, Gymfan!

This is really extremely helpful! Thanks, Ryan! It's so cool that you got it printed.

Ditto that! I'm gonna work on mine a bit more before I get the actual book from CreateSpace. I wanted to print it out for editing purposes, but my parents won't let me near their printer or the ink cartridges.
*cringes* I finally told my family I wrote a book. It turned out even worse than I imagined. My dad asked what I got out of it, my mom said I couldn't use the printer, my older brother offered to proofread it, my little brother made a face and asked if it was mushy, and only my littlest brother got excited and asked to read it. Nobody even asked what it was called. *sniff*
/rant. Sorry for whining, everyone.
Your book looks awesome and amazing, Ryan! It sounds like a cool story too. I wanna read it.
*cringes* I finally told my family I wrote a book.
Aw, I'm sorry. That'd be sad.
I told my family on Nov. 1 or 2 that I was entering it. It could almost be annoying how much they talked about it. But yeah. Almost every day I'd be typing away at the computer and Mom would be like, "How's your book coming?" And when I finished quite a few of them congratulated me and stuff... It was nice, I guess. A few have asked to read it as well, but haven't gotten around to it.
I'm really sorry you got such a disappointing reaction.

hyaline- ditto what Queen Susan said, I'm really sorry that everyone reacted in that way... That's no fun at all! But no matter what they say, we're all proud of you!
Thank you for sharing images of your book, Ryan! Sweet stuff! I haven't decided if I'll do it yet or not, I don't really need too so we'll see. I mean, I'm happy that I wrote it and stuff but other then that... so maybe I could use some NWebber convincing to convince me to get my copy?

Nobody even asked what it was called.
Oh, no. That's sad. Can I ask you to remind me what your book was about?
Ryan, your book turned out beautifully! It makes me want to get mine printed too, but I'm kind of in the boat that I'm happy I wrote it but I want it to be a lot better before it's a book.

The offer last until the beginning of June, doesn't it?
If you can edit it to "become a book" before that, you can order it then

Thanks for the information, Rising_Star; it was very helpful.
Hyaline12, that's so sad that your family is so unsupportive. I was just telling my mother last night how blessed I am to have such encouraging family and friends, even when they don't understand the point of doing NaNo. My family knew before October that I was doing it because I had to ask my mother permission to, so everyone knew. They've been very supportive and one of my sisters joined as well to encourage me. She and another of my sisters have read most of my NaNovel and given me great feedback. My younger sister is wonderful because she always loves my writing and I was somewhat discouraged when she read my book but she came and wordlessly hugged me and it was so sweet and encouraging. My oldest sister is really great at giving me the feedback I want and will patiently answer all thousand questions I bombard her with about it. My other sister wants to read it but doesn't have time. The rest of my family has requested to read it but are content to wait until I've edited it. Almost everyone I've told about NaNo has expressed interest in reading my book and admiration for me trying it. I am so blessed.
The offer last until the beginning of June, doesn't it?
I hope so because right now my story is pretty worthless. I have high hopes for what it will become, though. =)

Hyaline, I know the feeling
So has anyone started seriously editing yet? I need to, before school starts and gives me another excuse not to. The fact that certain friends are breathing down my neck about it is my main (read:only) inspiration right now
