Just saying it like it is, Fanny. ^_^ :)

hyaline, I don't think I mentioned this to you, but I really love the cover you made for your novel! :)

;)) I can relate- I just got to reading Little Men for the first time, and I was enjoying it but now I've stopped because of NaNo.

Tea- Ditto! I'd be willing to do it with you, if you want. :)

I just had a really nice idea for after NaNo: I'm really enjoying the story I'm writing, and I would make it my official novel for NaNoWriMo but I really want to work on the other ones I planned, too. Although, after NaNo, I'm going to take all the stories I liked (specifically this one) and write them into longer, more detailed novels so I'm expecting that to be fun. :)

I jumped onto the NanoWriMo wagon the day before it started, so I'm not sure how well I'll do...oh, well, at least I'll have fun. I haven't had a chance to post here since then.
So now I'm pumping out words, hoping I make it...I'm doing a little dance around my plot, as I haven't gotten to the centerpiece yet. I thought I'd be there by now, I'm generally not too verbose...

Tea: I'd be willing to do a word-challenge-thing, depending on how much it is. ;))

Please just send me some details! :p

Well my mind is made up, I want to do this. I guess it is too late to start a novel this year though. :(

I went to the site and they said that 50K works out to about 175 pg. That isn't too bad; it is about the size of a Hardey Boys book.

Congratulations to everyone on their impressive words counts!! Y'all are doing awesome!

*sighs* Day 4..... and I'm behind on my word count. :(
What's that saying about 'the best laid plans'?
I had a goal of trying to get 2000 words per day, but, wouldn't you know it, I got sick on Day 1 (and I'm still not well :(( ) !!! I have an annoying cough, and I'm still running a slight fever. I'm finding it hard to concentrate on writing because of that, and I just don't have a lot of energy right now.
I've been doing some writing in a notebook, so I'm not as far behind as my word count says, I'm just not sure how many words I do have at the moment.

I'm going to try to get a lot of writing in today... hopefully I can.

My book is kinda dragging at the moment, so I'm considering skipping a couple years in my MC's life so it'll be closer to the start of the Civil War (it's set in 1855 at the moment, I'm thinking about jumping to 1859-60 ish). Once I get to the Civil War, I don't anticipate having any trouble writing it... it's getting there that's the hard part.

EDIT: @ watziznehm, it's not too late to start this year! It's only 4 days into it, so you wouldn't be too far behind! :) It'd be awesome if you did join us!
Is there a particular story you'd be interested in writing? :)

No way! It's not too late until November 31st!

Seriously, it's not. You can start NaNo WriMo any time in November. You can even sign up any time in November. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel in a month, not to start on November 1st and write exactly a certain amount every day. :D

Sign up, folks! It's not too late!

Well, I keep putting off posting in here, with the intent to come in some evening and say, "Well, I've finished my word goal for the day! :D" The problem is, it's not happening. ;) Yesterday and today I got up at 6 a.m. and finished off the day before's word goal. So right now, I have 1667 words to go for today. :D Why do I have the feeling I'll be getting up at 6 again tomorrow to finish up what I didn't do? :P

Anyway. We'll see. ;) I ended up working more this week than I was going to at first, so I'm trying to do a weird combination of getting up early and staying up late.
Currently I feel rather behind most of ya'll, with just over 5000 words.

So, after a very rough start, my novel is starting to pull itself together. My writing is an abomination, so I'm trying to almost completely ignore everything except the paragraph in front of what I'm writing. :P I'm really enjoying being able to just write and forget about the editing, but I do fear I'll have a piece of trash on my hands when I get done. ;))

Queen Susan, I do feel very flattered. ;)) I think that's absolutely hilarious and wonderful, and am greatly tempted to put a bunch of NWebbers in my story. :P
(OT: Oh! You stole the avatar I was thinking about using! :P ;) It's lovely. :D)
I don't think it's so bad that you hadn't told your character's name yet; it gives it a neat touch. Mine still doesn't have a description. ;)
Oh, btw, would you mind posting the link to your NaNo blog again? :D

Fanny, I have to join the ranks of those who almost fainted when they saw your word count. ;)
I'm glad the writing is looking up, Bella!

flambeau, I do hope you feel better soon! Being sick isn't the most encouraging way to start off NaNoWriMo, is it? :-s Hope the writing prospers . . .

Queen Susan: Awesome! :D The 'first' goal (:P) is 15k by Sunday. (yes, you other amazing people have permission to laugh - but this is a lofty goal for us slackers ;) )

Ditto, flambeau and sweeetlilgurlie! Watziznehm (do you mind if I nickname you Nemo? Much shorter and easier to spell :P), it is NOT too late to start! We'd love to have you join the frantic writer's pack. ;) :P Besides, a few of us are running behind too (I was inspired by my novel idea on the second day while checking the mail -odd place, I know- and thus got a late start.) It's not impossible! :)

Sorry, that was probably one too many smilies...

EDIT: Dennie, I totally understand! But don't feel TOO badly about being behind.... I'm at 3076 words... :-s

It's pretty fun. ;)) So far I've used 4 narniawebbers: Destined, Betsie, ForeverFan and MissAravis. :p Dusty, Bets, Fannie and Missy. ;)) I give my greatest sympathies to FF: Everyone else is a horse, but she gets stuck as a cow. :( Oh dear. Maybe I should have just had people in the story. Hm, interesting idea... Maybe next year. *laugh*
(Oh, I'm sorry. You wished to use this avatar? :p You're welcome to use it as well--but I know that's not the same. ;) I'll probably have a new one in a week or two though, depending on if I find one I like really well. There are so many great avatars, I'll never be able to use all the ones I like. ;) )
NaNo blog? Sure thing!! :D
(WARNING: My story is very ramble-y and kind of boring, etc, etc.) ;)

Edit: @Riley: 15K? Ok! :D I was planning on trying to do 12K, but 15K will be a larger goal. ;) I'll have to work on it. :p

=)) Ahem, sorry. ;) I honestly find it most amusing, and feel very much honoured. ;)) Besides, who wants to be a horse? Being a cow is so much more interesting. ;)

I'll have to see how I can add some NWebbers into my story, hmm. They'd have to be people of course, my characters aren't ones for having pets. *ponders*

Dennie: Thanks! I'm cheering for you! :) Just keep at it even when the going is tough, I think the important thing is to keep going and not give up. I think that there will come a time when all of a sudden the "plodding" will turn into a great word count which would never of happened if you had of given up. And that's the end of my motivational speech, so from now on I will resort to large placards with each NWebber's name scribbled on it cheering them on, multi coloured pom poms and cheerleading dances to let everyone know I'm rooting for them. ;)) *brings out a Cheerleading Dances for Beginners book and procrastinates on writing* ;)

Ahem. :o) i-)

Flam: Ach, I hope you feel better soon! Getting sick is no fun, NaNo or no!

Watziznehm: No problem! :) I'm glad I was able to help- it does certainly help having an idea of how long a 50,000 word novel is in an actual published form. :) I hope you join us- it's not too late at all! :)

I second that! I didn't even think it was humanly possible to write that much in three days. And I thought I was writing a lot. No. Not any more.

Oh, and FF, I never mentioned it before, but I love the title for yours! It's super awesome.

Thank you! I'm sure you are doing wonderful- the beauty of NaNoWriMo (among other things) is that nobody ever is called "bad" by the site/organization if they take a longer to type out words and get to the end. :) No one is really a loser who even attempts it, even if they don't get the 50,000.

Last year we had a big Word War with other NaNo NWebbers- maybe we could arrange something this year? It was fun last year. :)

Riley, Bella and Queen Susan, I'd like to join you, if that's all right! :) 15K by Sunday sounds like a good (and reachable) goal. ;)

Watziznehm, please do join in! The more, the merrier! :)

flam, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well! Hope you start feeling much better soon and can use the time to do a lot of writing.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Would that be on YIM?

I've been discovering huge gaps in my so-called "complete" outline. So far, all I've been writing was already planned out in my head, but I'm quickly coming up on a vast blank where I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen. :-ssI guess I have to jump over the edge sometime... :-s

No Word War for me--my writing during NaNo is dismal enough to begin with, so word wars provoke absolute massacre ;)) I'll go for the 15K by Sunday goal though!

Haha, love the using-NWers-as-animals idea. I did that last year with people...I think I got a reference to most of my NaNo-ing friends in there somewhere. And my villains were named after old real-life nemeses or Twilight characters.

*likes everyone's NaNo avatars* I have 6628 words written at the moment; not that impressive but all of them have passed the first level of Alyosha's Perfectionism Test. So I'm happy :P

Love the cover, Hyaline! The Thief is excellent motivation to reach your word count goal, though if it was me I'd probably happen to pick up the book and then toss the whole writing idea until it was finished :P

Anyone going to any write-ins? I really wanted to go to the one in my town, but I'm busy every night they're doing it. :((

;)) Hehe, I'm glad you're amused and not offended. ;) Of course, I didn't think you would be. :p I laughed at your comments though--seeing you use the =)) smiley face just made me laugh out loud 2 or 3 times... for some reason... And of course, the thought of you actually being a cow is absolutely ridiculous. :p ;))

Word War with other NaNo NWebbers- maybe we could arrange something this year? It was fun last year.

Word War? Could you explain?? :D :D

So. My goals are:
1. Get 15K by Sunday.
2. Do about 3,000 a day
3. Figure out what this "Word War" is. ;)
4. Write a whole bunch.
5. Get things other then NaNo done. ;))
