Midnight?? Haha... Not me, sorry. ;) Doubt my parents would allow it anyway. I actually probably won't start until November 2... Or late on November 1. It depends. ;))

Wow, is it really only 6 days away? :-o Oh my goodness. :-s :D I kind of wish it didn't start on a Sunday. I'm going to be gone until late afternoon/early evening. :p And like Queen Susan, I'm not a night owl(or circumstances don't allow, anyhow ;) ), so I won't be staying up late Saturday night.

I am still rather undecided about what I'm going to write about. I either need to commit to my present plot, or quickly think up a new one. Hmm . . .
If I stick with my fantasy plot, my heroine is going to be named Saelen. Beyond, that I don't know much. I don't feel capable of plotting it out at this point, so if I go with it, I think I'll let itself unravel, and may up doing something totally different than what I'd first conceived. Especially in regards to the ending.

But I am as excited as it is possible for me to be, in this uncertain state! :D :D

Yoik! It's so close! I think I've decided just now what I'm going to write...I'll try tomorrow to whip together a plot line. :)

It looks like people have got some great ideas! Very intriguing!

I'm going to write a sequel to the novel I wrote last year, Points of Light. I updated my novel info if you're interested. I am of course the same name on the NaNo website as here.

Some of you may remember, but my novel last year was about a man who ended up in a mining colony in which all the workers had had their memories and personalities wiped, and were basically drones for the powers that be. (Or were) I wrote 50,000 words, but did not finish my plotline. And I barely touched the story since. I wanted to finish it before this NaNo, but realistically, that isn't going to happen. :( Still, I think the sequel is the best idea for a plot I've come up with yet. :) And I'll hope to get the original wrapped up over December or sometime soon...

Faun_Song612, that's a great idea! I never thought of outlining writing days...I should try that...

Menelve, I don't have YIM, but I may stay up 'til midnight to write a few symbolic words, just for the sake of beginning on the dot of twelve. :D

I'm in two classes for college this Fall semester, but hopefully I'll still be able to write at top efficiency! Priorities will be set, of course! ;;)

Happy New Year!

Well you should at least get on the Nw chat. I'm sure at least one or two nano nwebbers will be around there.

Yeah, I'm insane. I'm doing nano on top of 18 credit hours of college work plus 6 hours a week working. And three of my classes are english classes. Oh the joy of being an english major when nano rolls around. :P lol

ditto about last year's novel. I made it but still haven't finished the plot/story. I'm near the climax though. Yay for writing sequels when the first book isn't finished yet! :D

Insanity rocks!! ;)

Goodness, Menelve, you're a lot braver than I am! I'm not sure I'd even try to write 50,000 words in a month with that much else going on! :-s When are you going to have time to do anything else besides write, study and work?
I guess I'm fortunate: my EMT course doesn't start until January, and November is looking to be a pretty laid-back month for me.

I might stay up on Saturday night, if only to officially "start". The hour to be semi-awake and heading for church is going to come far too early, though, so we'll have to see. ;) At least with NaNo starting on a Sunday, there'll be lots of time to write in the afternoon. :)

I am going to go to bed early on Saturday night and then wake up refreshed. Once I'm back from church I'm going to write. But not a word before then! I don't want to be exhausted before I even start! :P

A word war is when two or more people - usually online together on YIM or the like - set a time limit, say of 10, 15 or 20 minutes, and then see how many words they can write in that time. It's a really good way of making up the word count for the day, and injects just enough competition into it to keep you motivated! "Write or Die" is something else which motivates a lot of people ... unfortunately, it just makes me nervous, so I stick to the time limit only. ;) Word wars are so much fun!

Hurrah for NaNo drawing nearer! (I think it's hurrah, anyways...)

Menelve: The idea of a count down "party" sounds fun- I hope I'll be there! I have permission to start writing at midnight from my parents, I just hope the internet will be working then so I can join in. :) (Lately it seems the internet has been shut off by the provider late at night/early morning and turned on again a few hours later). If all goes well though, count me in! :)

*cheers everyone on* :)

Yes indeed, Write or Die is scary! :p It's hard to concentrate on writing when your heart is beating really really really fast. /:)

I meant to think up another title and some sort of idea of what I'm going to be writing about the other day, but I forgot... I think I stole my title from a part in Horton Hears a Who, too. :(( Which is... kind of weird. /:)

*Tiptoes*

I have a few, emphasis on the few ideas for my "novel". I'm gonna start writing and see what happens. :-s

Anyhow, I was looking at my buddies, and suddenly felt very sad. I didn't share my user name, therefore I only have one writing buddy. :( My user name is AppleRain. Hopefully, someone will feel like being my buddy. Of course, if you don't I totally understand 'cause I'm sure I'd be like "I don't really know her" and then not make someone on my buddies list. Am I rambling? *There is a resounding "YES!"* ok, ok, I get the point.

See y'all in the asylum! ;)

Arva, thanks for that suggestion! (Or, thanks Mrs. Arva's Mom! ;) ) It gives me a couple ideas to work with. =]

I think the only think left for me to do now is to make a cover, so that should be fun. I think I'll be improvising up stories as I go; honestly, I doubt that will go well for stories. I can improvise poetry, but not so much stories. I'll see, though. I'm really excited to get started writing on stories, but I do hope I can be decisive, because I was just considering to re-do the other longer story I wanted to do. *sighs, then quits rambling*

I might post stuff regarding NaNo on my blog, so here it is, http://rainswritingsandreviews.blogspot.com/ :)

Winty, I'll add you as a writing buddy! :D I'm "InkRain" on there.

Bella, I thought it might be you! I was just looking at my writing buddies and the number tripled. :)
I do have a question, though. You know how there are people who are "buddies of you" and "your buddies" or something like that? When someone adds you as a buddy should you add them as a buddy, or is that just redundant? I know it seems like a dumb question, but I really don't know.
