I started writing at midnight, and so far I've got 1,088 words. I'm actually tired enough to sleep now though, so I'm going to take advantage of not having insomnia for once and continue writing when I get up in the morning. Good luck to everybody! The race is on!

Great word count update daughter.

I've been going nonstop for two hours writing now and I am currently at 1,811 words. I'm still not sleepy so I'm gonna keep on going. I can't wait to hear everyone's updates too! Keep up the good work guys! :)

I wrote for about 22 minutes last night, starting at midnight, and now for another fifteen this morning and I'm at around 2kish. I'm really loving this novel and how easily it's coming to me. Fingers crossed that that will last all month long! ;))

Stwin, I'm a bit shy about sharing my writing, so reading it will totally depend on how confident I feel at the end of the month. But it will most likely be a yes. ;)

Rose, I've developed a few new twists that I would love to talk to you about at some point. Also, I think you'll like where I started the novel. ;)

NaNo, NaNo, NaNo, NaNo, NaNo, NaNo, NaNo, NaNo!!!! :D
Excuse my excitement, but my, the First of November has so much energy packed into it. ;))

I've been lurking in this thread, and I've been enjoying reading the discussions.

I am a pantser, but I am learning how to work my improvisation into an outline so I can actually write a novel. I really didn't think that I would be formally joining, but I've been in such a writing mood lately (after a long, long time), so I might take advantage of the situation and write. I have three ideas in mind that are a bit vague and tentative, but I might try doing some word wars tonight and then work with whichever idea draws me in the most.

I'm InkRain on the NaNo forums, if anyone wants to add me. I might not update my novel info, based on how much I participate. But I'm excited for NaNo on the forum, and I look forward to participating in word wars! :D

Related to NaNo, I want this :P

Hey everyone! I feel like I've been away from the forums for ages, but I haven't had much time at all between work and family. Still, I have poked around here and heard all the exciting Narnia news. :)

Anyways, after never having previously participated, I came to the decision to do NaNo this year! Woo! Now my biggest problem is...I have no idea where to start. No, not as in I'm not sure how to complete my goal and simultaneously write well, it's simply that I really have no idea where and in what scene the first chapter begins. I've got most of the characters sorted out and some highlights of what goes on to eventually bring my two main characters together, but things are just so out of order and non specific that I'm trying to basically start from scratch. I'm also the kind of person who is constantly over thinking how a moment goes, trying to make it as realistic as possible in the place that I've set it in. Knowing my pace in all of my other writing creations, there's a lot that I put into every character and chapter. I'm already freaking out that I'm running behind and won't be able to keep up my minimal word count for the day, especially with my busy schedule and lack of inspiration.

I've made some outlines and lists of what I'm hoping to include and weave into the overall theme. Thankfully, I have no intention of giving up on this story because I'm really connected to the characters and everything they have to give. I've told myself, even if I don't reach 50k, but get a good book in the end I'll be proud for a newbie. :)

Cheers and good luck to everyone! Your stories all sound so amazing! :D

Edit: Wow! I can't believe this is my 3,000th post!

Quinlin, it's great to see you on the forum again. :D And congrats on your 3,000 posts!!! What a great way to come back. ;))

I'm not a NaNo-ite, but just wanted to wish everyone well. I love the anticipatory excitement. Here's to a great writing month for you all! B-)

*Echoes congrats to Quinlin on 3000 posts, and to our NaNo writers for their impressive early word counts*

Hard to believe it's finally here...I was on the road much of the day so I'm only up to a whopping 557 words. ;)) But I've been making lots of notes the past few weeks so once I have a chance to settle down and really write, that should improve dramatically.

Good luck to one and all!

Quinny dear! Congrats on 3000 posts, and welcome to the insanity!! ;)) It's good to see you again. :)

I've just hit 5k, and with another six hours of writing time for the day, I'm hoping to hit 8-9k today. Since I'm only going to be writing on the weekends, I really want to end this first one with an impressive word count. :P

Between last night and tonight, i've gotten 2,004 words written. I think that's all i'm gonna do today.

I really need a laptop and somewhere quiet and private to work, i think. Also somewhere with no wifi or something. ;))

I've written 4203 words so far, and have finished Chapter One. I'm probably going to do a bit more tonight, but for now I'm giving my wrists a short break, as well as plotting out Chapter Two.

I look forward to seeing how long I can keep up this pace. :P

Do my wrists ache or what :p *rubs her sore wrists*

YAY!!!! I hope I'll be able to word war with you (thought with the fact that Russia didn't switch to the daylight saving, I'm even more ahead than I was before :| so catching anyone online these days is not the easiest thing.)

Quinlin...QUINLIN *huggletackles* I haven't seen you in SO long!!!! congrat on 3000 posts!!!!

Now my biggest problem is...I have no idea where to start.

haha, I had the same problem, it was November 1st and I sat down to write, set up my writing space and suddenly I was like...now what? :-
Good luck with your writing :)

I hit 5k last night and finished my third chapter :) , I think I coud have written more, but I got distracted cross-stitching a picture that seemed like a much more inviting and fun project :p I'm hoping to hit 10k today (provided I resist the temptation to finish my cross-stitch :p )

Cheers for everyone!!!! :-bd

How is everyone's novels/word counts coming along? I'm behind, partly because I rewrote the beginning several times. :p Yes, the one thing you aren't supposed to do. But it actually helped, so I'm happy.
Good luck on writing, everyone! :)

Well, I've been sick since Thursday night and have only been able to sit down and write a bit this morning. I hit over 1400 words, though. Maybe I'll be able to catch up in the next week, once I'm better.

Congrats to all you early heavy hitters! Keep going, everyone!

Congrats to everyone's word count and especially to wild rose and Melian for going past 10k. Keep up the huge energy guys!

I'm at 6,580. I wrote all last night till daylight silly me. Trying to write on the weekends to me is really hard because I spend a lot of family time on these days and my word count should hopefully pick back up during the week days.

I hope you're feeling better, Stwin.
Congrats to everyone who's written, whether you be behind or ahead. Keep on writing! :)
Would anyone be interested in doing a word war with me at some point? It's generally done over chat, correct? (Sorry, I've never done a WW on Narniaweb before.)
