I'm not staying up. I have 8 AM classes tomorrow which means I'm getting up at 6:30. I wish I could, though. I won't be able to write until 1 at the earliest. I have classes all morning until 1 and then a class at 2 in the afternoon. I might write during that last class though considering it's boring and I will be hard pressed to stay awake. I skipped that class entirely last week in order to go a debate.

I wasn't going to stay up until midnight, but I decided I shall. I just discovered I have a fair amount of school work that will keep me awake for the next two hours. As such, I had probably best run and get that done. All the best, everyone! Tis hard to believe that it is almost here!!

I am not going to stay up, but I'm planning on getting up very early. I have school in the morning, and dance in the afternoon, but since I'm homeschooled, I am going to get all my school done early so I have time to write between school and dance.

I feel your pain, I have class from 9:30 Am to 5:30 pm - No lunch breaks! Though If I'm lucky I'll get out of my last class early. If I'm up til midnight it will be doing HW, not for Nano

Ah, the joys of having finished school...

I would love to stay up until midnight to write, but I have not planned very much of my individual novel and don't have an direct resolution of what I want to write, so I probably will be staying up until midnight planning and then if I get something good, either writing some of that or some of the co-authored story.

I'll probably be up at midnight, though i don't think i'll start on mine yet. There's another story i'm hoping to finish before NaNoWriMo starts, because i certainly won't finish it while it's going on.

This is my first year of beginning right at midnight (it's only 15 minutes away in this timezone). Looking forward to it!

I always had this idea that we'd upload our writing onto NaNo's website...I don't know why I thought that. I take it I just update the word count when I get around to it, yes?

That's about it, Shadowlander. When you have 50,000 words (or more) and want to validate, you do have to copy and paste your writing into the word count validator on the site, but it just counts the words and doesn't actually store your writing on-site.

and we're off! NaNo starts today!!!!!

I have not actually written any words yet, but I will start when I can, depending on when I have to go into work

And so it begins! I've written almost 3000 words today so far, so I'm pretty happy with myself, although I'm cringing at the quality, and as certain things I had in mind go flying out the window. It was inevitable.

Ah, the joys of having finished school...

And of a week off! It felt great to be able to start at midnight, even if my brain wasn't exactly functioning the best...

This year seems a lot different from last year, but maybe I'll get in the same mode pretty soon. The last two years I did no planning or outlining, so I just wrote, and I didn't put tons of thought into "perfecting" it. But I really want my book to be a lot better this year. Well written, not just "put down." So... I'm taking a lot longer right now with trying to write well...
We'll see how long that lasts. I would not do well in a word war right now.

But I'm excited! And I have a big mug of coffee and I'm listening to Switchfoot. And I have an hour or two yet to write this morning.

Yay - it's here! I decided NOT to stay up till midnight (I've been staying up late the last week, and will be the next two weeks - and I CAN'T get sick.), but at the last minute, set my phone alarm, put a notebook and a pen by my bed, and then tried to go to sleep for the hour beforehand. I fell asleep about 2 minutes before 12:00, of course. xD I woke up, wrote a sentence just to say I had, and then went plop back to sleep. And now I have officially 252 words. This first week will be hard writing - I have no idea what's going to happen.
