Hey, Arwenel, do you want to be NaNo accountability partners? Because I really need someone to report to. (The only time I write is word wars, and I only get on like once every other night... ) And I can do my best to keep you on your toes too.

It is with much sadness I must announce that I am dropping out of the NaNo experience. I will finish my novel, but probably not this year.
Today I was officially diagnosed with tendonitis of the wrists. The treatment: no guitar playing and minimize typing. My appologies to Team Polly, as I can no longer help you guys out. Maybe next year.

Aw, that's so sad, winterlife!!! I'll miss you!! And I hope your wrists get better soon!! I'm sorry for you though!
I could have made 50,000 Tuesday... but we were gone. Then Wednesday... but we were gone... Then today... but I was busy...

Oh, winterlife, I'm so sorry! We both lost last year and I was hoping that we could both win this year.
I'm very sorry to announce this news right on the heels of Katie's bad news but I am the new owner of a green bar! I beat my 6.1k record of most words written in a single day by writing 7.2k today! I am very tired and am now going to go to bed. I am still going to work on my novel because it's not done yet (I will need at least another 3 or 4k to finish it and who knows what other twists will come up) but I'm so glad that the pressure is off.
Keep up the good work everyone! I have confidence that you all will also get green bars before too long! You all are amazing!

Team Polly is the least of your concerns. Rest up, heal your wrists, and come back fighting next year! If you really want to try and finish your novel this NaNo, maybe you could try looking into voice transcribing software or having a friend or family member type for you. Either way, best of luck, and here's to bigger and better NaNo's next year!

So sorry that I haven't been around for the last few days, my NaNoites. It appears as if quite a few of our ranks have crossed over into greener pastures (haha, bad pun); so a huge conga rats to them!
As for me, well, I haven't done much writing in the last few days. But I think that if you look directly below, you'll see that I have a legitimate excuse.
tps, what you posted just above me is really neat! I like it a lot! Image
Thanks! So much! That means a lot to me. (Especially considering it was written when I was madly racing to win a word war...)
Winterlife, I'm so sorry! No fun at all. Windows 7 has a decent voice-transcribing thingy, if you feel like setting it up. (I've found it frustrating, especially since I type fast, but it does work pretty well when all is said and done.) Either way, though, Gymfan's right: Don't worry about Team Polly - your wrists are way more important than word wars.
Gymfan15 - WHAT? You've seen it?! (I looked for an emoticon representing envy...the only green one seems to have the flu...or be an insect. So I suppose this is a sign I should not be jealous and just be patient.) One word, just give us a one word review....pretty please?
*though if you can't, I understand. *sigh*

Aww, I'm sorry winterlife. We'll miss you, and I'm hoping your wrists get better.
The amount of green bars showing up already is mind-boggling! You go, guys! Even those of you who haven't got one yet; it's astonishing how strong we're all going.
I finally found something from my novel I could post without humiliating myself:
“How...old are you?” He asked hesitantly, afraid she’d name some age beyond his reckoning.
“Forty-five.” She answered.
She was older than his mother, yet small enough for him to pat her on the head and send her condescendingly to wash her face. He wanted to groan.
“But,” She said with the air of one about to reveal something marvellous. “I measured myself up. In human years I am twelve point two-six-six-six-six-six-six-seven years old.” She looked up at him, enormously proud. Her air was that of a child, and he began to wonder how quickly these fay matured after all.
Gymfan: Yet again, I'm consumed with envy. One word review? Pweese?
Ditto what the others have said, winterlife. Rest up and come back ready for more next time.
75k, Arwenel! Sounds great! (Last year my story ended up being that long, though I didn't reach 50k during November ).
...I just made the experience of NaNoWriMo twelve days shorter than it needed to be...
I think I know what you mean. Last year, by this point, I had a pretty good idea I wasn't going to make it on time, thanks to the holidays and such. This year 50k came early, and even though there's more to be done with my story, it's rather weird to think the pressure's off. But it's been a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to wrapping up the loose ends and plot points currently left open.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Gymfan: Yet again, I'm consumed with envy. One word review? Pweese?
Awesome? Check the front page; Tirian should be posting my thoughts on the film soon.
Heading back home right now; spent some time getting my novel organzied.
I've come to the conclusion that with 20k left to write, it's entirely possible that I may be able to wrap up my novel sooner rather than later, and still have an entire novel's worth of material to write as another sequel. We'll see...
Awww, winterlife. So sorry to hear about your wrists, but ditto everyone else. Your health is much more important.
I think it was at the Night of Writing Narnianly that someone mentioned thinking of us all as sitting in a library typing away on typewriters. (With the accompanying comments that our novel qualities would appreciate in value.)
Anyway, I ran across this picture and was instantly reminded of the conversation.
I should go back to writing now.
We have hands that fashion and heads that know,
But our hearts we lost - how long ago! -- G. K. Chesterton
I'm DONE!* With my needed word count. Now-- I need to wrap up the story.
*as in, I have a green bar now.
I shall celebrate now by going to bed.

I've been so behind - I haven't written anything at all for two weeks. Then this morning I was going to go out shopping, and I just sat down to write for a little, because there was still half an hour to go before the shops opened - and when I finished the scene I was writing, I had been writing for two hours!
Those two hours gave me 1400 words, which nearly doubled my word count, and I'm almost up to my private goal - which is 5,000 words instead of 50,000 words because there is so much else going on this month, I cannot spend two hours every day on a mere hobby. So if I reach 5,000, I'll be mighty pleased with myself, even though it doesn't give me a green or a purple bar.
Here's what I just put as my novel excerpt:
...
Cross-over Narnia/Middle-earth.
Rameldir is Varnafindë's father, who has just arrived through a portal with his wife.
Varna isn't born yet - she will be born in Narnia ...
Edit:
I was notified by the mods that as this is fanfiction, we are not allowed to post the text on NarniaWeb - but a link is fine. So here's the link instead:

Hey, all! Just a quick not to say that I might have to drop out this year. My wrists have been giving me a great deal of pain and I realized that I'm showing several signs of carpal tunnel. My mom has ordered that the rest of this weekend/part of this coming week be typing free, so I'll be seeing you guys later.
I'm going to try and hand write the last 10k, but I don't know how far I'm going to get.

Aww Melian, that's too bad! I hope your wrists feel better! What might help is to use one of those ergonomic keyboards, where the keys are slanted - it's more natural on your wrists, once they've healed. I had problems a while back with my wrists hurting while typing, so I got one of those and I've never had a problem while using it.
And CONGRATS to Queen Susan! I too hope to reach Greenbarland early next week. But I plan to keep writing for as long as possible because my story is nowhere near finished.

Well, we seem to have a plethora (<-- love that word) of wrist injuries this year. Rest up, guys!
*studiously ignores the pain on the inside of her elbow brought on by excessive typing*
So much for being ahead on that awesome night of writing narnianly. I, um, haven't written sense then. I've sat down once or twice, but then I got stuck at plot. (Yes, I wrote 30K without actually going anywhere. Is this not an amazing feat indeed?) Yesterday, I came up with this in the way of an outline. Haha, isn't it great and excessively intricate? (Not.)
So now, I'm sitting down to actually write this story, because I want to finish it by November 30 (50K or longer, I'm gonna do it!). If anyone wants to word war, I'll be in the "Games and Blogs" room. Doing word wars with myself. (Record in this story: 64.4 words/minute.)
