Well, I just figured out time zones and where I live, The Night of Writing Narnianly will start at 2 in the afternoon. So I may sign on for a few minutes early on but most of my time on there will be toward the end (toward midnight for you guys) during my INSANELY boring college class which I could sleep through and still get a good grade. That class is an hour and a half long so I'll definetly be on during it.

Well. it's struck me. The annual get-sick-in-the-second-week has hit me really hard. I still have gotten about 2k written by hand today, but this weekend is going to be terrible.

I'm going to try and come to The Night of Writing Narnianly, but no promises as of yet. I've already canceled my plans for this weekend.

I hate getting sick...

Yes...my MC's name is Lark, which was supposed to be only a name but now also reflects on her singing voice.

NO WAY! I almost gave my heroine that exact same name! And she's a singer too! :-o Other names I considered were Philomela and Sparrow (reminded me too much of Captain Jack :P ) but I finally settled on Viola (an instrument... it works) and gave her "Nightingale" for a last name. So her name is quite obviously musical. :P Anyhow, Lark is a great name. :D

Melian_Maia - Aww, I'm sorry you're sick. :( That happened to me last November (I caught the flu at the beginning of week three and couldn't write for three days straight. It was miserable.) Drink Airborne (it really helps)! And tea! And plenty of water! And cod liver oil pills. :P

I was bored, so I went ahead and divided up all the current NWeb NaNo'ers into two teams:

http://utahwrimos.net/nano_stats/wars/s ... bdd15a4996

And before you ask, no, I'm not on either team. ;) We had 51 official users, so I'm sitting out because that would be a bit unfair.

I determined team by organizing everyone by word count and going 1,2,1,2,1,2, etc. It was the fairest way I could do it since NaNo has already started and people are already ranked. The only edit I made was to put Djaq and flambeau on different teams. ;)

So, this can be a little fun war for this year, and next year we'll do something more official!

Well, when you put it that way...

Team Polly is loosing! *goes to add the extra 10,000 words from her second story to her word count*

The detailed breakdown of my progress is available here. I had been planning on waiting until I hit 50K, but that'd end up being an even bigger spike. ;))

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy? Hospitality Committee

"Anna?" Atton called, his voice muffled by the door. "The TSF's here; Green wants to speak to us."
Anna brushed back her hair, and walked up to the door. "It's Grenn, not Green," she said.
"Huh?"
"It's Lieutenant Grenn, not Lieutenant Green," she repeated.
Atton looked at her oddly. "Didn't you ever play Clue?"
"What?"
"You know - Clue. Lieutenant Green, in the hangar, with the blaster."

;)) Couldn't resist.

Great poster, Gymfan! I'll try and make it; i have work in the evenings now, but unless there's a serious overflow, i should be able to make it at some point ...

So, yeah, i have no idea how things are going. Pretty well, i guess, since i'm substantially ahead of schedule. I'm following the plot, debating how many of the subplots i should include, and wondering how far in the game i'm going to get by Nov. 30th. I'm determined to keep going with the story once NaNoWriMo is over, 'cuz it certainly won't be done by then, but i have no idea if the drive to work on it will still be there.

*goes back to stare at her lovely blue stats bars rising above the purple line, and daydream about a shiny green bar like Gymfan's*

Woot Woot! Go Team Digory!

I am astonied that I'm at 44.5k. Yesss... And Enzo, my MC, has finally lost all of his friends and isolated himself from the world so I could get my villains to attack him, which means I'm actually close to part where I get him kidnapped! Yay for me!...sucks for Enzo.

Keep it up, guys! I am so excited about seeing all of your wordcounts and knowing we're all getting closer to the end together...

*quickly closes eyes* Was that poster pic a spoiler? *slowly opens eyes* Well, I did put in my vow that unavoidable spoilers, such as graphics someone uses, are okay, so I think I have not broken my vow. And the poster does look really cool. :-bd

I am currently having a nightmare of a time trying to lead into a scene where my MC's BFF leads an otherworld equivalent of the occult/Satan worship. The whole purpose is to make my MC hate evil all the more, but I have tried very hard to avoid that sort of thing in real life, so I have no idea how to do this without writing something that will make me sick.

Here I was, I thought I was being so secretive!

I miss my mother and siblings very much. It has been so long since I last saw them! My mother is a little older every time I see her and my younger siblings are always so much older. My brother Gerald is the only one who does not change between my visits. I am only sad that my brothers, George and Gregory, live so very far away. I am afraid that I have not seen either of them in over a year.

Just for the record, a good way to keep your prince's love interest a secret from your readers is to have her put the names of half her family in a letter she writes to him. I am so brilliant, aren't I?

Team Polly is losing?! Oh, horrors! Alrighty, team, huddle up! Today is the day that we all do amazing things, understand? I want you to write more today than you have written any other day this month! Beat your own goal. Set your own record. Team Digory is going down, they're goin' so far down you can't even fathom how far down they're going. Let's just say, where they are going, the sun doesn't shine. ;)

The Night of Writing Narnianly sounds like a blast! I am leaving Tuesday night wide open! (Yay for it being a Tuesday!) I cannot wait for all the virtual punch, word wars, and the buckets and buckets of confetti that I forsee being thrown. It's going to be a blast!

I had my most pathetic word count ever yesterday. :(( I spent all my writing time on the phone with customer service (and they were not helpful! Grrr!!) Today is a major catch up day! Woot, woot! *gives self pep talk*

TPS, I believe that NaBloPoMo (which I tend to accidently call NaNoBloPo, as you pointed out) runs every month of the year. November is just its biggest month and the only month when bloggers are drawn for prizes. :)

I'm going to try to fit a minimum of 5k in today. I have a lot going on, but I think I can do it. If I can get through that one scene...

The other day I wrote just under 5k. :D I was pretty pleased with myself. On my next day off I'm going to try to get 10k in a day. (Is that doable? Am I more insane to try it?)

I love the poster, Gymfan! I think I'm working late that night, :( but maybe I'll be around for an hour or so towards the end.

Also, I am in love with Write or Die. And I'm finding listening to movie soundtracks helps. I'm not big on wordless music, so I never really thought of it before, but this week all my music with lyrics was distracting me, so I pulled out my good ole Speed Racer soundtrack.

If nothing else, I am having loads of fun with the cat names in my story. So far I have a Huckleberry and a Lucy and now there's a Eugenides (he likes to steal my MC's socks. :D ) and I'm planning on a bunch more, all named after other book characters.

Go Team Polly!

orious, yes, you are totally brilliant because I would never have guessed that was a letter to a love interest. A loving aunt, perhaps... Context is everything, eh?

hyaline, I think 10k in a day would be doable, depending on how fast you write and whether or not you have a list of scenes you're going to do. At least that's what I've found since I started doing 6k with Write or Die. Half of those words are kind of random and they go a lot slower than the outlined words. (Oh, and they're a bit sillier, too. ;)) )

In other news, I passed 50K! And so did Christ Proclaimer, yes? If I can't beat your word count, I can at least congratulate you. :D

Everyone else, you're doing amazing too! Keep up the good work. :-bd Hurrah for everyone who has passed the halfway mark, and huzzah for everyone past 20k. That's over a third of the way to the goal! And if you're feeling a little behind, you can still do it, there's lots of time. :)

Ooh, and I finally have a favourite line/scene!

"You had someone named Lazy Anne taking care of you at the orphanage?" Mr. Roma looked concerned.
"Yeah," said Harold. "Matron said it was an iron knee."
Mr. Roma raised an eyebrow. "That's why she was lazy?"
"No, Matron calls Anne that because every time we see her she's doing something like boiling all the sheets, or peeling apples for a dessert, or mending holes that are less than an inch across."
"Oh." Mr. Roma chuckled. "Irony. I see."
