Has anybody else been having problems with loading the NaNo site? It might just be my computer, but it loads so slow!

This is my favorite part of my novel:

Aina sank to her knees as he walked away. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She had refused, no, she had scorned his apology. He would never ask it of her again. And she knew it. It made her sobs come all the faster and harder. She watched as Rowne clenched his fists in a desperate attempt not to turn back to her.
He was lost to her forever.
The tears hurt her eyes. She squeezed them shut, but the look of hurt that Rowne had looked at her with followed her and his words echoed in her head. Would this agony ever pass?

My book is going to be the first in a trilogy and this book dwells in the past and letting go quite a bit. It had been planned out, but I seriously have no idea what happened to it.

5,001 words now, so still on schedule. Considering it's day two, though, i'm not rejoicing yet.

Oh, and i know two goals for next year:
One - outline the heck out of it months before Nov. 1st
Two - I don't want to hate it when i start writing it, like i've hated just about every other book for the past three years at least, if not all four.

On the 31st, the site mentioned on the front page that so many people were on the site that it was really slowing down. I noticed it too. It was super slow and still is although not quite so much.

Ahhhhh! (I sound like I'm about to sneeze!) I actually made it! If it wasn't for flambeau, I wouldn't have! Gotta love crazy sisters, eh? I have 10,112!!!! That's waaay more than I had last year at this time. I wrote 5230 words today. Huge thanks, Gymfan and Dennie for the word wars that got me to my goal!! I am very thankful that I have NWeb and the people on here to get me through this month! Really, I couldn't do a thing without you all!

You are all doing fantastic!!!

I am both extremely thrilled and annoyed right now. My word count is now at 10,529 words, but the NaNo site is not loading for me to update my word count!!!! Oh well, it's after midnight, so it wouldn't count for the day two goal anyways, even though I reached it about 15 minutes before midnight. *tries to pout but can't stop smiling long enough*
I can't believe I actually did it!!! I am completely shocked, thrilled, stunned, and any other awesome words you can possibly think of!! I didn't start writing until after 1 p.m., and I didn't start really writing until after 3 p.m.

I am officially over 1/5th of the way there...

Wow, congrats to those of you who hit 10k! That's awesome!

I really wanted to hit 10k today but I had a really terrible day. Emotional breakdown + bad cat allergies + dehydrating allergy meds + resting for an hour + schoolwork + watching a movie with my sister to try to cheer myself up = not as much writing as I wanted to do. BUT I just hit 7k, so when I look at it all in perspective, I'm doing quite well. And my story is finallystarting to move forward. Once I changed POV's from third to first, everything started flowing better and feeling much more comfortable.

10k? Wow, you guys are amazing. I haven't gotten to 6k yet, and I'm on my third day. Technically I've already passed 1667 words x 3 days, but, I wouldn't be able to stand the NaNo website saying that I had an unsuccessful day when I'm only three days in. I've only got a couple hundred more to go, but somehow I don't feel like writing at the moment.. I think I'll go take a break. Do some homework or something.

As I am about to turn in and my clock is about to strike midnight, my word count is at just over 3.6k. My MC has proved herself smarter than me, and a better writer, because my first chapter is much longer than it would have been, and I have several spots where I can add more should the need arise. I shall start on chapter two tomorrow, and see where my MC leads me.

Wow, you guys are amazing!!! I'm not even to 5,000 yet. Ah well. Such is life, I'll get there soon. I hope. Anyway, congrats to all of you! Doing SOOOO well!!!

I'm having a hard time juggling NaNo with...er...life? Plus school. Plus having a rather irritating cough. Not sure if I made it last night...went to bed at 1am. But! I shall persevere!

Woohoo, Winterlife! If I had read your other post in time, I would have heartily endorsed following the instructions of your MC. I'm glad you did so anyways.

Silver the Wanderer+Narnian_at_heart: Yup, ditto from me, too. My writing is embarassingly poor at this point. I can write well (I think?), but none of it seems to be coming now.

After nearly 11k, I'm still slogging through the early bits of the story (Character A meets character C, Characters A and B have an argument over character C, and no one really knows what's going on because they're all still lying to each other). Very boring, but I have to persevere, and a lot of this is really neccessary for later...

Great word counts everyone!!!!!!!! 10K!!! *faints* Totally impressed here.

I hit 3,743 by 4pm yesterday. I'm not going as quickly as some but at least I'm reaching the daily goals. So far, I've had a relatively easy time writing out the first seven chapters. The first six revolve around character introductions and setting. It's been fun to write out my story so far and see my ideas bloom into a full-fledged novel. I'm really worried about finishing my story though. It might turn into a mini series with the way it's panning out so far. I have no idea what to write today as I'm still unsure where the plot's going. I didn't plan very well at all and I have no outline. Oh well, NaNo is a totally new experience for me. It's a ton of fun and it forces me to put my perfectionist tendencies by the side. Let me tell you, it sure makes me feel insecure sometimes.
I hope to hit at least 5K today. I'm going more by finishing chapters than exacting word counts. It's easier and I can finish my ideas better. I'm really happy with how the novel is progressing. I can't wait to see how it pans out by the middle and end of the month. If all goes well, I'm going to up my word count goal to over 50K. I'm not sure of the exact number yet, but it's somewhere around 100K. I'm really happy with my progress thus far.

Well, my novel is going exceptionally well. Right now, my main character has been kidnapped and is locked in a room in an old warehouse. I can drag out her kidnapping and escape for at least 10,000 words if I want to. (Her kidnapping has already taken up over 1,500 words.)

Things are going great!

I'm at 7,640 words right now!

What? I just discovered that my world is more like an Inuit/Mongolain (think cold, always cold, with lots of fur clothes and clocks and accessories) instead of typical medevial English. (I'm sure this wouldn't have anything to do with the cold front that has blown in and the fact that we have yet to turn our heaters on in our house. ) That's cool...no pun intended...but now I have to avoid going up a few pages to change some dress styles... *resists*

I only have 2617 words right now. Yesterday was a, um, bad day. Didn't write at all. But I have a lot of time today, and I think I can bring it back up to *checks calculator* 5001. I think. Maybe. With great perseverance and dedication.
