The glory of God is man fully alive--St. Iraneus
Salvation is a fire in the midnight of the soul-Switchfoot
sandyentersNarnia you like the name Charles I LOVE that name and Fitzwilliam is a nice name, I haven't ever heard of it before but I like it now that I read it
I really like the name Jamie for a girl, but I don't really like it for a boy. I also love the name Andi (for a girl, Andy for a boy is nice but it doesn't fall into the catergory of my favorite names)
always be humble and kind
I would like to add a few more names that I've come to like since I last posted:
Girls--
Ayumi (I've been watching Detective Conan and fell in love with this name! )
Kristi
Jennica (my cousin just married a girl with this name)
Boys--
Adrian
Jaden
Yeah, that's all I can think of right now...

Wildrose: Yes I do love the name Charles. Haha, because of Pride and Prejudice. .
I am going to add the name Sydney White as a name for my baby girl if I have one. It's cute!

Okay, recently I've become interested in the meanings of names...so, I looked up the Pevensies and Co.!
Peter - Rock
Susan - Lily
Edmund - Wealthy
Lucy - Light
Eustace - Fruitful
Jill - Youthful
Digory - Lost One
Polly - Wished For
Isn't that interesting? The four Pevensies fit especially well...makes you wonder if Lewis did it on purpose?
I'm not going to put my name in, but it means "Paradise Lake". I'm curious as to what other people's names/favorite names mean!!

FireFairy: I also like the name Adrian for a boy, but I fear that it's too feminine. It was originally a boy's name, of course, but now, most of the Adrians I meet are girls. It's the same for the name Robin. What do you think?
Name meanings are fun, aren't they! My name means "Pure One" which my parents really liked. They hoped I would be of a pure spirit. A lot of people are named with no consideration for the meaning of names, but all of my siblings have names that my parents considered in conjunction with their meanings.
^^ yeah, name meanings are fun! my name (real name: Rachel) means "Little lamb of God"
I love it!

Hey, my name means the same thing Libby! Oh, wait, that's because my name is Rachel as well!
Love God, love people
"Pure One" and "Lamb of God"? Those are very nice meanings!
My name means "Praise" which is sort of a match to CSLN's first name (she goes by her middle name, though), which means "Prayer." "Prayer and Praise must always go together" usually follows when we introduce ourselves and what our names mean.

I like the combination Elizabeth Marie. I think that is really pretty. Also I like the name Maurice for some reason. I don't know why.
The glory of God is man fully alive--St. Iraneus

I wonder what Sandra or Sandy means... hmmm... Haha. Love the definition of your name Libby! .

I love the name Adrian/Adrien (for a boy) and Andrea (for a boy and a girl). I love the idea of male names that end in "a," which is why I love a lot of Russian names. Iliya, Kolya, Volya... For some reason the letter "a" is a "feminine letter:" it's often used to make male names female, like Alexander-Alexandra, Frederic-Frederica, and so on. It's always surprising to come across male names that don't sound male to our anglophone ears.
I noticed the beauty of Russian names while reading Anna Karenina and watching documentaries on the Russian ballet. Anna Arkadyevna Karenina, isn't that a wonderful name? I have a whole list of Russian names I like. Alexei (m) Andrey (m) Antonina (f) Artyom (m) Anatoli (m) Avodtya (f) Dorofei (m) Evdokiya (f) Feliks (m) Feodsiy (m) Gavriil (m) Ivan (m) Kirill (m) Klavidya (f) Konstantin (m) Lavrenty (m) Lev (m) Lyudmila (f) Maksim (m) Mefodiy (m) Natalya (f) Natasha (f) Oksana (f) Olya (f) Pelageya (f) Praskovya (f) Saveliy (m) Semyon (m) Srezhana (f) Stanislav (m) Stepan (m) Svetlana (f) Timofey (m) Valentin (m) Vanya (m) Vasiliy (m) Vikenty (m) Yekaterina (f) Yevgeny-Yevgeniya (m-f) Zinoviy-Zinoviya (m-f) and Zaya (f).
Russian nicknames are wonderful as well... Kostya (from Konstantin), Nikolenka (from Nikolay), Seryozha (from Sergey), Mitenka (I don't know where this one is from though), Lizenka (Elizaveta).
In French, I love the names Antonin (I could not tell you how to pronounce it though... these sounds don't even exist in the English language!), Anatole, Cyprien, and Jean. Jean is ultra-famous but it still is nice. For girls I like Nahéma (Nah-eh-ma) and Lucie.
Other random names I like: Lucas/Lucan, Emma, Cillian, Ava, Jérôme Cory (for girls), Phoebe, Chloé, Allegra, Carlotta/Charlotte, Poppy, Mia, Saoirse, and sometimes Rosie, but that really depends on the person. I think it fits slightly nonconformist women best.
Though it's the name of a colour, I like Cyan as a boy's name. Oh, and in the weird names category, I like day names, especially Friday. I don't think I would name any of my kids Friday though (not to mention it sounds horrid in French!). Topaze (it looks nicer spelled with an "e" in my opinion) is lovely as well, even for a boy, though I think he would be mocked if he were named after a semi-precious stone.
Well, that is a lot of names... as an amateur writer I'm constantly searching for them, which is why my list is so long. But, if I ever have children, I'd like to name one Antonin and give Russian names to the others. The problem is finding a name that sounds nice both in French, English, and whatever their father's native tongue will be! Ultimately the names would change depending on the language, like Antonin would become Anton in English.
"'I say that if one could know what will happen after death, then not one of us would be afraid of death....One's afraid of the unknown, that's what it is.'" -- Tolstoy, War and Peace
Anatole
Perhaps you can tell us how to pronounce this one? It seems to be a favorite name in novels for French cooks and I have no idea how it's supposed to be pronounced.
I babysit two Russian children and their names are Alexander and Ksenia, but they go by Sasha and Katie. I wish Katie went by Ksenia, it's so beautiful.
My real name (Joelle the feminine version of Joel) means Jehovah is God i love it! my favorite names for a girl are
