Wow, everyone has such long lists! I dare say mine won't be nearly so impressive.

Girls:
Adelaide,
Ari,
Bella,
Bonnie,
Celeste,
Clara,
Deborah,
Fiona,
Gabrielle,
Grace,
Hope,
Madeline,
Mariah.

There are plenty more, but those were the ones I thought of first.
Combinations:
Bella Grace,
Hope Jean,
I like these for the meanings. I doubt I would ever give my daughter the middle name Jean, but it means "Yahweh is gracious" Which makes Hope Jean kind of like, "hope for Yahweh is gracious" Ya know? I'm pretty sure everyone can figure out what Bella Grace means. :)

Boys:
David,
Damian,
Joshua,
James,
Luke.

I have very few favorite boys' names mostly because I haven't given it much thought.

Glenstorm the Great, I understand how you feel about people misspelling your name. People always misspell mine. In fact, it's on your favorite girls names list, misspelled. :) Well, not really misspelled, since there are two proper spellings for it, but ya know what I mean. :)

winterstar: lol yeah, it can be annoying. especially if your name is close to a boy's name (mine is) so sometimes people say the boy version and it's like "you're talking to a girl here!" :p ;) . btw, I really like Adelaide as well...and Gabrielle :)

My favorite name combinations are...

Boys:
Alexander Lawrence
James Edmund Bradley
Nathan Joseph

Girls:
Molly Anne
Cassidy Renee (also shortened to Cassie Rae)
Susan Hannah (I'm not sure about the middle name on this one, but I do like it for a particular reason)

Those are the ones I absolutely love, adore, and am dying to use on my own children some day! They all have a very special meaning for me (for example, Susan is the name of an amazing woman that I know, and I would love to name one of my daughters after her).

So, there's my list. I have some other names that I like, but I'm not sure if I'd ever use them.

Apparently Quinn is a girl's name now too.( Glee)

When I'm bored I sometimes browse baby name sites. It's interesting to see the history of the name and its popularity over the years.

Nadia
Gabriella
Abigail
Megan

Chicos:

Nathan
David

George-I wouldn't name my son this, as it's a bit outdated, but I like it.

Oh, I didn't even think of putting pet names.I want a cat named Merlin and a little dog named Pippin. ;)) I didn't get to name the dog I already have;she had one when we got her.
I think up horse names a lot. I think there are some interesting names out there for racehorses.

Juliana: My cat's name is Pippin. :)

Brynn (favorite name EVER )

My sister's name is Bryn. :) I hated it at first, both my name and my other sister's name are very traditional. Bryn is definitely not. I'm not sure Bryn really likes it either, but my parents do.

I've always loved vowel names (Evan, Emma, Anna, etc) and "J" names (Jack, James, Julia, Julian). I think the letter J has such a lovely rich sound. I also love names that start with "Adr" like Adrian, Audrey, Andrea again because of the vowel and also the rich consonant mixture you get with the "dr". But the name Andrea is problematic because no one knows how to pronounce it. I'm starting to like the name Adrian for a boy after reading The Last Man, but it sounds too feminine to me. I'm not sure I could do that to a kid. I used to really like the name Aiden until it became super popular.

wild rose: I think Charles sounds nice in a Brittish accent, but in an American one it makes me think of my grandpa. ;)

Do you ever have problems with names that may sound nice but have bad connotations? I could never name a child Josh because I met an unsavory one in elementary school. Same with the name Tiffany.

Kate, I kind of know what you mean about negative connotations. I could never name one of my kids Tanner. I only knew one, in elementary, and he kind of ruined the name for me.

Question: Have any boys posted on this thread? Or am I right in that only girls are fascinated with names (I'm a girl as well, btw)? :p :-

I think I'm going to make separate lists for character names and for names I want for my kids, since they are so different.

Girls (children):
Sashaya (Shay for short)
Stacey
Karen
Tamara (Tami for short)
Keisha
Amanda
Kaylee
Kenzi

Boys (children):
(I want these exact name combos)
Austin Ordean
Joshua Ammon
Jordan Aaron
David Omner
Peter Himni or Matthew Himni (can't decide)

Girls (characters):
River
Rain
Aspen
Myka
Indira
Nylanej (NY-luh-nezh)
Joy
Autumn
Kathee
Raychel
Violet
Lily

Boys (characters):
Toki
Chet
Shawn
Xie (SHEE-ay)
David

That's all I can think of at the moment. I actually have a list somewhere, but I think I left it home when I went to school. Oh, well. You can probably tell that half the names are made-up. And another cool thing is, the names I have for boys (children) are all but one made with a first name from the bible and a middle name from the Book of Mormon. :D I LOVE them! (By the way, another boy's name I absolutely love but can't use is Daxton, but that's because it's my baby brother's name! :D )

Like Ursula? One of my friends was talking about naming his daughter that, but his girlfriend put the kibosh on that plan on account of she's seen The Little Mermaid. (He hasn't. :p )

My very favourite girl's name is Evangeline or Evangelina. I also like Madison, Mikaela, and Scarlett. I like Whisper too, and Zephyr and Autumn, but I don't think I'd give them to real people. ;))

And for boys, my favourites are Will, Dominic, Tristan and Peter. And I would definitely name a son Digory. You could call him Digs for short and it would be cute! Ahem. Maybe not. My brothers told me I would be the most evil mother ever if I did.

I like my name (Lee-Ann, but most everyone calls me Lanni) but it's one of those names that nobody spells correctly. I always thought that if I were to change my name, I'd pick Katherine and go by Kate or Kitty (like Kitty Pryde!) for short.

I always wanted to have a cat named Lucy (even before I read CoN) but my uncle and aunt stole it for their dog. They also have a cat named Tip, which I think is super-cute.

Oh you wouldn't be an evil mother! I would do the same thing! I love the name Digory, and actually have that on my "Names for My Kids" list :p . My mom thinks Kodi is a horrible name for a boy and that it sounds feminine but I've liked it since I was like 6 so I'm naming my first son that whether he or anyone else likes it or not :p ...
