What do you people think of family names? I think they work on a case by case basis. Some families have a tradition of naming their children something like Charles Edwin, which doesn't really fly because those names have become irrelevant (though I've met a lot of Charlies lately and it seems to work for them). William is a huge name in my family. My dad, grandfather, and I think my great-grandfather all have/had the name William. I like the name William and lately the name Liam (for short) has become quite popular, so it still seems relevant.

If I have a daughter (and husband agrees, of course) I'd love to name her Ruth. BTW, I am single right now, in case that was confusing. So IF I marry and IF I have a daughter...

If I have a girl, I would consider naming her Winter. It has a triple meaning for me.

I might would name my boy... Actually, I don't know what I would name a boy. I mostly think about what I'd name my girls. Maybe Alexander. It's a good, strong name. Or maybe a Biblical name.

I like some family names. William was the name of a distant ancestor, and I like that. I also like Elizabeth, which was also a family name.

I absolutely love the names Sage and Joy as girl names. They're short, yet very pretty.

As for boy names, I like Lewis, Jake, and... ZEBULON!

Has anyone had a favorite name and you met a person with the same name, but you found them so disagreeable that now you hate that name? I knew a guy named Will and I loved the name William but now I can't stand the name because he was so mean to me.

Well, Jonathan could always be shortened to Jon or Jonny. Elijah could be shortened to Eli. I'm not sure about Luiza, though, except possibly Lulu.
