By the way, I envy the Grand Piano. All I have to work with a hundred-year-old upright.
Same here...at least sorta. For years, all my family had was our great-grandmother's upright to practice on...she used it to play the "background" music at silent films! There's a cool thought right there, but it also doesn't sound the greatest anymore. Then about a year ago, someone gave us their like-brand-new upright, and we've switched over to that one. Still, there's something special about having a 100 year old+ piano that one's great-grandmother played on during the silent films!
My parents are arranging for me to take piano lessons...next year. Oh, well, I guess I can wait.

I hope to take guitar soon. I've been trying to teach myself a little but it's kinda hard.
I have an upright piano but I've wanted a baby white grand for years! That's my dream Christmas/birthday present
That would be a great present! Right now, though, I am asking for instructional DVDs for guitar (you can only go so far with chords, after all) and a hard shell electric guitar case.

The Pendragon, you could probably teach the piano to yourself, I think it would be easier to do that than to teach guitar to myself... I know what you mean about small hands! I can't play bar chords, ugh!
Ooooh, GtG, you're going to start the harp? Awesome! You'll have to tell me all about it
Let us know how your first violin lesson is, Queen Susan!
and speaking of guitar, listening to Jon Foreman a lot recently has really discouraged me because he's so amazing

Aww, don't get discouraged, Kat. I picked up the little bit of piano I learned much faster than guitar. It took me more than two years before I could play a bar chord. Nothing happens overnight. I would recommend trying Mike D.'s tutorial for By Your Side. It is the easiest tab I've ever come across, with simple chords, and once you've got it down, that's two forms of guitar playing in that one song! Although I would recommend looking at the actual chord names on the little chord charts in the corner; they're a little more specific than Mike is.

Hello - I'm new to Narnia Web. Ok.
How long have I been playing? I've played violin for 5 years and piano for a year.
Do I perform in public?
I perform at church every second Sunday and at heaps of community festivals, nursing homes, and peoples parties...
Because I live in the country, my brother and sister and I (and my dad if we are performing) play together a lot. We don't play in Orchestra becasue there are none near here!
I'd love to learn the Cello! I love the Cello! Does anyone here play the Cello?
I play Classical music as grades for exams etc. but my siblings and I play a lot of Irish together because its easy, but it sounds so cool!! I like playing anything except for modern Australian music. I also love playing Hymns and church music.
I could never ever write lyrics, but maybe sometime I could compose a dodgy duet or something!!
Hey Dancing Princess! I have been learning the violin for about 5 years too! And I've just started playing piano!
What grade in Suzuki Method are you doing? I'm finishing 5th grade with AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board).

So--I had my first violin lesson today. It went well I'd say--though pretty much we went through the parts of the violin, and how to hold the bow.
So... yeah. *laughs nervously*

I'm sure you'll be great, Queen Susan. Have you had your second lesson yet?

Yup! Just had it two days ago.
This time I actually played it--though no "tunes" really. But it was fun!

Cool for you QS! How do you like it so far? I love violin, but not actually playing it...
I am quite enjoying it all, thank you!! *looks forward to learning something other then mm-mm-mm-mm-mmm - mmm on the same note*

I have been learning piano for the past year, but my teacher said that I've made really good progress. I would really like to learn the drums, but that may not happen, because it would annoy my family a lot to hear loud bangs all the time. I'm going to look into electric drum sets.
May the force be with you!
I LOVE Pixar & Disneyland!!!!
Yay, Queen Susan! I learned posture for about... my first two or three lessons.
Oh, btw... for those of you who are interested, here is the piece I'm learning at the moment. Titled "Melodie", it's written by Gluck and arranged by Fritz Kreisler. Enjoy!
