Could you start with Hold My Heart? I'm probably going to be learning piano, and as it's my favorite...

Nice cover of "Forget and not Slow Down"! I've never heard the song (maybe I should look it up) But your cover was great anyway! 😉
winterlife already suggested you starting with Hold my Heart. That'd be fine, whatever you want. 😉 Hold My Heart and Beloved would be my top ones... but yeah. Your choice of course.

I have been playing the piano for 11, almost 12 years, and the flute for 10 years, and I've sung ever since I can remember.
I do most of my "performing" at church, but I also have played in nursing homes, a hospital, and for recitals.
I would like to learn the harp if possible.
I LOVE classical, Celtic, and old Christian music. Soundtrack from my favorite moves are great too!!!!
Compose piano arrangements for hymns, as well as creating my own works on the piano. I have written several songs, but i have only written the piano music for one.

Question: does anyone else on here write their own music?

I only "write" really basic stuff for piano, and rarely write it down. I can't ever play stuff exactly the same way twice, though, because some of it (especially the left hand) is pretty much improvised. In general, though, it's really repetitive and uses the same chords over and over. It sounds pretty, but it's quite simple. My brother, now, is a real composer. He writes classical music. And I admire him. xD
Ditto to what Kat said about music--though the stuff I compose is even more repetitive, and a lot simpler.
That's awesomely neat about your brother, Kat! My 17-year-old brother just "started" playing the piano today. He's figured out quite a few things! I'm a bit surprised at his progress. And he says he'll try to play and learn more... We'll see. He can almost play "When I Survey" with his right hand one note at a time.

No you wont, Kat. My sister wanted to learn guitar. I told her I would only teach her if she practiced. We didn't get down more than two lessons. She's still mad about it, but I keep telling her, "I warned you!"

Kat- Are you learning chords, or tabs, or notes?

Basically all I know is what the strings are, and from there I figure out what the notes are by just experimenting. I'm trying to learn some chords, but they're a lot harder for me than just picking at individual notes. I don't even know what tabs are. I don't really have a teacher, except my dad helped me the very first time, and I've been on my own now. I definitely need more help from him though... I can hardly do anything.. hee.
As a guitar teacher, I would gladly post a tutorial online if I had any idea how, but since I don't...
