I've decided to keep doing piano until the end of the school year. I'm hoping my teacher will concentrate a lot on that fake book kind of thing. I just bought BarlowGirl's How Can We Be Silent music book and a Modern Praise and Worship fake book. I can't wait till they come in.

I want to get that BG songbook! I have their Another Journal Entry one. I also want to get some of Relient Ks!

I have two of Relient K's music books (although one of them was just bought and hasn't come in yet). Trying to play their tabs gives me a whole new view of how good they are.

Yeah Matty T can write some really complicated music. I have the sheet music for Deathbed and trying to play it on piano was quite a challenge. It was written for 5 guitars!

Yeah, and watching their music videos is amazing too. I know a guy who can pick up a tab like the lead for Devistation and Reform in about fifteen minutes, and he doesn't think he's that good of a guitar player. I'm still working on Tenth Ave's tab for By Your Side (I have been for about a month) and I am not even to where I can sing and play at the same time. So I just keep telling him he's really good.

I wanted to get Love and War and Britt Nicole's Lost Get Found books but they don't have them out. I was dissapointed. I hope they come out with book for both of those. I didn't know they had an AJE one. That's my least favorite album I think. They should come out with a Hits book.

Yeah, Julie, you did. That's when I posted my "Five Reasons Guitar is Hard to Play," or whatever I called it.
The worship leader for our youth group worship team decided he wanted to take up two of the three songs for the week a whole step, making one of the songs easier to play, but making the other song half bar chords. If he changes any more keys, I'm going to scream.

what page was that? On Sunday, one of my friends and I were talking about violin and he asked "you play right?" and I say "well I used to, I just stopped lessons." Then he says "so now you're gonna take guitar right?" And I was so shocked b/c I never told him I wanted to play guitar! How did he know that's why I quit violin!? He just said it was an educated guess (all my talking about the awesome guitar riffs in rk songs and guitar solos in skillet songs [ben kasica is awesome!!!])

I really want to learn guitar. It's something I've wanted to do since I was pretty young, that and drums. I have a guitar, I just don't know how to learn anything

Deathbed was written for five guitars?!?! Wow, it must be amazing to be able to write music like that. It would take me years. That's really cool about learning guitar though sounds like lots of fun!

Just out of curiosity...any Low Brass players in here?

Yeah for 5 guitars, it was really hard to get all the notes played with just one piano . yes I wish I could write music like that, when I write songs I just write down a few chords, haven't even tried to write sheet music yet...

I'm working on the theory to be able to write sheet music, but it's much harder than just memorizing how to play chords. But I want to get really good, so I'll just have to work harder on it.

Sheet music is a pain in the neck to write down... even with computer programs. I have like 10 songs I've been meaning to transcribe in Sibelius, but I can't ever seem to get motivated. Once I get going I can finish it in reasonable time but still... blah.
