Wolf: How did your lab trip go?

I'm doing well in the gauntlet. My main strategy (at the moment) is to spend every night in Tier 1, use the potions to make Tier 2 cheese, which bolsters my supply of Tier 3 cheese, which I can use to stockpile Tier 4 cheese. I haven't climbed any higher than the fourth tier as of yet, but I might head into that later this week. I only want 130 pieces of Tier 5 cheese before moving on. I just hope that I can finish this wretched thing before school is out!

Yeah, with the events over for now and no real news aside from rumors of upcoming new areas (that no one can get to except perhaps Kat and I), there's not a lot to discuss. I've noticed that the majority of hunters are either in the Catacombs or the Tribal Islands and there's only so much to say about those two places.

So how much time does that give you?

Well, I pretty well crushed the Warrior mice in Wave 2, and I just finished up the Mage mice as well. Only the Cavalry mice now and it's on to Wave 3. Coming up on another shot at a new trap piece.... so exciting. Crossing my finger and toes that I get one this time around.

Until June 12th (I think that's the date of my last final, but I'm not certain). If luck favours me, then I think I'll be able to do it.

Wolf: How did your lab trip go?

I'm up to 6 RB potions... I'd like at least ten before I head back... and I have to stock up on brie first.

I was having very poor success for awhile. Mice were stealing my bait left and right and I was only catching mice about 1/4 of the time. So I finally remembered that I could upgrade my trap so I upgraded it to the Swiss Army trap and it has an explosive base and my effectiveness has gone up tremendously and I've been catching a lot of new mice.

narnian_at_heart, Congrats on your upgrade! I suggest you save every drop of gold that you can, for you will need to make many such purchases in the future

Nice! If you haven't done so, you ought to look into crafting the Dehydration Base as well. It pairs better with some traps than the Explosive Base does (and vice versa). It's good to have both of them.

I hit Wave 3 last night and am working my way through the scouts. Trying for a Commander right now on a 7 streak... will hopefully catch him.

I've got 37 pieces of Tier III cheese left, and 60 pieces of Tier IV stockpiled. If I can get up to 70 pieces, I think I'll spend some time on the fourth tier of the gauntlet. My goal (before just going all gung-ho and going through the rest of the gauntlet without backtracking) is to have 130 pieces of Tier V cheese. We shall see how it goes

Yeah, I meant accomplishments before hitting Hero.

I remember early on the game you were pretty gung-ho about completing everything in the level before you reached the next one, but the Legendary level is so expansive, that's pretty much impossible to do.

I've seen one person do it though... that was my sister-in-law because in the days before the Marketplace, you could make a whole lot of gold selling SB which she got through surveys. So she was able to afford all of the traps as soon as she unlocked the region to buy them. Made it all the way through the Tribal Islands. Crazy.

There will always be more things to spend money on "after that." But you already have the Obelisk of Slumber if I recall correctly. And I think I remember you saying you caught a Mojo and have an Onyx Stone. Do you have all of the Scrap Metal too? Personally I think you're in pretty good shape. And as soon as you get that ACRONYM trap, you'll be making money a whole lot faster. By the way, what bases are you sporting these days wolf?

After only a few days at the Calm Clearing, I have the Cyclops mouse! I don't have much gold left, though. Should I head on back to the Mouseoleum and get enough gold for the Venus Mousetrap then on to the Training Grounds, or is there something else that I'm forgetting to do?

I've forgotten your ranking, Melian_Maia, but I'd advise saving up for the Venus Mousetrap. If you have 20 radioactive sludge yet then you'll want to upgrade the venus mousetrap ASAP. If you don't, then you'll want to farm some, by equipping your stalest cheese set-up and equipping radioactive blue cheese. Your next tactical trap after that will be the Ambush trap, and you'll get that in the dojo.

Another thing to consider is purchasing a Digby Drillbot from the town of Digby. You're going to need one eventually, and if you didn't get the birthday-candle-kaboom trap back in the March event, then it's the best physical trap you're going to get before reaching the tribal isles.
