That being said, I would assume that most people use IE

You bring up an interesting point. I know very few people who use it anymore exclusively, but I'm mostly friends with nerds and geeks who despise IE. I shall have to start a thread to see what people are using these days. ;))

If you ever want me to walk you through how to install a different browser, let me know. I'd be more than happy to do so. :)

I CAUGHT BALACK!!!!!!! YAY!

Very huge congratulations. :D But I just want you to know that I'm rather sickened you did that catching only one Swarm of Pigmy. :)) I was well over 1000. You must have been loaded up with Vanilla Beans from the Christmas event.

* runs in crashing into walls springing up and down and completely speechless...

Maybe they should add a warning label to this game.... "Sheer excitement in catching a mouse may cause injury due to celebrating and running into walls."

Anyways, huge congratulations to you wolf!! :D

I, like DiGs and his Cackle Lantern, have started compiling stuff for the MonstroBot. I don't know why, I'm still missing some key components that only have a chance at dropping from the final mouse, but here's where I'm at....

0/1 Blueprints (must complete 3 successful runs to purchase)
177/400 Flameshards
1/2 Sandblasted Metal
1/1 Rhinobot Parts
0/1 Drillbot Parts
1/1 Deathbot Parts

So the only thing left to buy right now is another Digby Drillbot (I'm NOT farming the Nugget mouse for it :)) ) and hope and pray that the last guy drops another sandblasted metal in the next two runs. :)

I spent the night in the Mountain last night and got 1 Simple Orb. Yay. I gotta say the attraction rate there is horrendous for the level I'm at. I'm definately not going to bother with Mozz cheese anymore cause it's a waste (so don't bother sending this as a gift ;) ).

I'm still willing to buy Simple Orbs for 5000g a piece for those willing to sell! ;;) And I'm pretty sure Kat is too.

My progress....

Spoiler
I made it to Wave 3 again last night. I'm currently at 51-24-45-61-31-21. Missed a guard shortly after arriving and he upped my numbers.....booooo. But I will easily wipe out the scouts today and hopefully put a good dent in the archers as well. :)

So is anybody actually avoiding the spoilers? Am I putting them in for nothing? ;)) Just curious cause if people don't care about what's going on, I'll stop bothering with them. :)

I read all of the spoilers, FK ;). Don't post them on my account (I figure that I'll probably be the next one of us to make it to this region, and I want to go in as prepared as possible).

Yes, I had a TON of vanilla beans from the Christmas Event. I still need to craft one more batch of Vanilla Stilton so that I can catch a riptide mouse (the only mouse that I have yet to nab), but after that, I'll be completely done with Balack's banished.

I'm actually having decent luck in Tier III right now. I've gotten 3 or 4 potion drops this morning (Can't remember which). I'm up to 58 Tier IV cheese, and I've got 283 pieces of Tier III remaining.

I forgot to warn you about one weird thing Chrome does and it's always done, and I don't know if it will be fixed any time soon.

Your friends list will be completely random rather than by last logged in time.

Your mice lists are sorted mostly alphabetically, unless a new mouse was added in after the original group, and then it will be on the bottom.

I'm used to both of these things, but for someone who isn't, it might be annoying, I dunno.

At any rate, I'm not gonna bother with spoilers at this point, the new area is relatively straightforward.

I cleaned out the Scouts in Wave 3 but now that I'm onto Archers, I'm having really rotten luck. In the last hour I've caught 1 mouse. It seems like the only time I do really well in this new area is overnight when I'm sleeping. :P Go figure. At any rate...

I spotted a Monstrobot user on the Scoreboard today. That's a very snazzy looking trap. Can't wait for mine. :D Hopefully will have another victory under my belt by the weekend.

Crafting works on chrome :D

I didn't even notice the freind's list was by log in time ;))

I'm thinking I will head back to furoma now (especially since I ran out of gnarled) I don't know if it works because they fixed it of if it's because of the browser. I have to say I think I like the layout of IE better, but chrome does give you the wider veiw. I have discovered however that when I switch back and forth I have to log back into everything. As such I'm currently using Chrome for FB and IE for NW and school :P

*runs in springing up and down, but avoids the walls this time...*
*would copy and paste her journal entry but apparently can't between Browsers...*

I just caught the Master of the Dojo, which dropped the onyx stone :D

*exits in much the same manner but jumps to high and hits her head on the ceiling* Ouch!

(EDIT- Sorry for accidentally double posting, I deleted it)

~Get the Master of the Dojo in the Pinnacle Chamber (come back for the Sensei later)
~Start the repair for your Mousoleum Map when you can afford it (I think it takes 5 days)

Check :)

~Catch the Hydra in the Lagoon (come back for the Silth later)

Not checked yet :(

~Level to Legendary

Check :)

~Hit the Catacombs and get your ACRONYM trap
~Catch the Digby Dirt Dwellers with the ACRONYM trap

Not checked yet :(

*goes to look for ACRONYM on MHWiki*

Edit2!
Great I need more scrap metal... and more SB...

And a ton of money, wolf ;))

I just sold 25 pieces of SB+ on the marketplace, and got enough money to buy my digby drillbot. So after tonight, all that separates me from my cackle lantern trap is platinum!

Tell me about it... I had to sell more orbs :|

On a side note Digs, if your still having problems you know you can download Google Chrome and yet keep Internet Explorer as your default. You just have to make sure you uncheck the box that says "Make Chrome my default Browser" when you install it. It was pretty simple (If there's not a link on Google's home page, I think if you hit "More" and then the "More" under that tab you should find it) and it looks like a good idea to use as a backup... the only downer is that when you switch back and forth you'll have to log into everything again. (This may not be that big of a deal for you but I always stay logged on and then end up forgetting my passwords when I am forced to log off). Like I said I like IE's layout better so far, but at least now I do have a backup.

It never stopped working for me, so I'm gonna say the browser. ;) Glad you and DiGs have working browsers now. :D

I'm hunting in Mousoleum now, and I just caught my Lycan Mouse with the map piece!

Congratulations!! :D May I ask what trap setup you decided to go with?

*goes to look for ACRONYM on MHWiki*
Great I need more scrap metal... and more SB...

How many pieces of SB do you need? You just caught the Black Widow

*digging this one up from the previous page that I somehow missed*

That's really dumb on the Dev's part. Introducing two new traps, both of which require rhinobot parts.

I dunno, is it? Sure it's not convenient for us players... craft a trap, smash it, get the upgrade, smash it, get the next upgrade....
But I suspect that they wanted their traps to be worth a certain value of gold and a certain level of crafting difficulty. It makes sense to me that you can't conveniently get the Monstrobot (best physical trap in the game) to piggyback off of the Enraged Rhinobot (second best physical trap in the game).
For the record, this isn't the first time the devs introduced this crafting strategy. The Heat Bath is the same way.

So after tonight, all that separates me from my cackle lantern trap is platinum!

:D

Well, my streak of less-than-stellar luck in the Fiery Warpath continues. ;)) I didn't quite manage to knock out the Archers last night, but I shall do so shortly this morning and then it's on to the Warriors. :)

I don't know. To me it just seems to dangle the bait of a new trap for people like me, and then messes with them later. I would have never known about this monstrobot if it hadn't been for this thread. I would have crafted the enraged rhinobot and then kicked myself by the time I got to Baron. If they're going to do things like this, they at least should let everybody else know their options :S

I bought my Digby DrillBot today!!! After smashing that to smithereens, I now only need 24 pieces of platinum in order to get my cackle lantern. If I stay in the catacombs for a while, I should have it before too awful long!!!! (Plus, if I continue to sell SB+ on the marketplace, that will also help me out!)

I;m working on my second time through wave #2.... Caravan Guard mice are annoying... I've missed 2 so I get new mice added. I'm currently hovering at: 37-21-6-42-17. It only added a single mouse to each amount each time I missed one, so it's not too much of a setback.

I don't really find the lack of upgradeable traps annoying. Maybe because when I started, the only upgradeables were the the Drillbot to the Rhinobot and the Venus Mousetrap. The increase in smashable traps is a fairly recent thing as in the last year or so. If I catch a warmonger with the loot drop for the Monstrobot, I may take a detour out to the catacombs for a more consistent gold income. I don't have the rhinobot, so I still have to craft that. I think between the Monstrobot and the Cackle, I need three drillbots. ;))

@FK she only dropped two pieces of SB I needed three... I got the third from the market place.

Since the Lagoon is continuing to be a pain :| I'm trying my luck at the catacombs, wheather or not that's a good idea, remains to be seen... :-s

Maybe... I kind of think you may still want to craft the Enraged Rhinobot. The Rhinobot isn't THAT hard to get. Just the annoyance of the stale superbrie, and that's in the daily gift rotation now. I think you will struggle through the first three victories in the new Baron area without it, though it's certainly doable. Something to consider.

If they're going to do things like this, they at least should let everybody else know their options.

There are two ways to play this game, or really any video game in the world. You can either play through spoiler-free and be surprised at the twists and turns, or you can research (cheat? ;) ) your way through for smooth sailing.

But I believe that no matter which is more enjoyable to the player, the developers of a game should never, EVER give away all of the future content info. Otherwise it becomes too easy and unenjoyable for half of the players.

However, in this particular instance, the info on the Monstrobot Blueprints was there the moment the new area was added and it says in the description "The Sandstorm MonstroBot harnesses the power of Flameshards to fuse heavy pieces of rare Sandblasted Metal to RhinoBot Parts." (The devs letting everyone know their options? ;) ). And that was promptly added to the Wiki for all to see.

But having said all this, the one big gripe I have with this game is that it's impossible to make it all the way through without referencing the Wiki. I'm the type of person who likes to figure things out for myself (poor Kat wasn't allowed to talk to me for the first several hours she arrived in the new area and I hadn't gotten the map piece yet ;)) ). So I'm hoping in the future they'll add in more Plankrun's pages and whatnot so people don't have to go running to the Wiki for info if they don't want to.

Caravan Guard mice are annoying... I've missed 2 so I get new mice added.

It is for this reason that I opted to go with the strategy of wiping out a whole group of mice all at once. As soon as the line is defeated, I don't have to worry about more being added back in. And I miss a lot of Guard mice.... :P ;))
Speaking of which, the archers are now defeated. Onto my nemeses, the warrior mice. :P ;))

Do you have the Obelisk of Slumber? It might be difficult without it. Also, did you get the Bamboozler Base from the Training Grounds?
