I lack the Birthday explosives and the Red Wax for the Birthday Candle trap. Should I wait for a mouse to drop them? Are they something someone has the ability (or the desire) to send me?

Each of the Three Blind Mice drop one of the items EtJ.
Buckethead = Birthday Explosives
Pintail = Fuse
Sleepwalker = Red Wax

*sniff* Not a single event mouse for me yet. Ah well. Hopefully it'll last long enough for me to catch all three.

Must not be a 100% drop rate. Just got a Sleepwalker, no drop.

Should I get the cheesecake base with the new trap? A Terrible Two's Mouse (I believe) dropped a Chocolate Cake base early this morning. Will that work with the trap?

Now I've gotten two Birthday Party Mice and one Silvertail (that apparently likes Cupcake Colby), but still no blind mice yet. I have, however, gotten enough Nanny Charms to try for the Terrible Twos Mouse, which I am doing right now.

I still need 2 event mice (Birthday & Sleepwalker), and 1 superbrie only mouse (Nibbler).... then I should be all set...

Yesterday evening, both my husband and my sister-in-law completed their Traps. My husband immediately set up his Birthday Candle Kaboom + Cheesecake Base and left it going overnight. I gotta say, I am now very underwhelmed with that trap because he FAILED TO CATCH a Diamond and Gold Mouse with that setup. For a Baron that's pretty pathetic. He switched to his Spellbook Base this morning and he's doing much better. But even so, with the most powerful base in the game, the power bonus on the Candle Kaboom isn't enough to give you a better overall power than the Christmas Cracker Trap, and it's not as lucky either.

So for those of you who have either the Chrome Drillbot and/or the Christmas Cracker and don't want to spend the money on getting the Candle Kaboom, I believe you can safely skip it. If, however, you don't have either one of those traps, then I still recommend getting the Candle Kaboom. I'll still be getting it cause it looks awesome.

As far as my catches go, I got the Fuse last night, already have the explosives, so now I'm just waiting on the Red Wax.

The stats on the Chocolate Cake Base are very meh. It's a well-rounded base and for a beginning player, it's very nice. However, I personally like my bases to either be weighted with power or luck. The CC base hardly has any of either. So it will do ok, but bases like the Candy Cane Base or Gingerbread Base are vastly superior.

@Silver, congrats on the Birthday Mice. Did you get anything cool out of the presents? I've been so excited that they have a chance for SuperBrie.

@Kat, I saw after you posted that you caught at least two of the event mice, so yay!

I am having absolutely rotten luck. I've not caught a single event mouse since last night. At this point, I just want to catch the last mouse so I can have a complete set even if I don't have any of the loot. None of the event mice I've caught has had a loot drop. I think I'm going to switch over to my magma base and see if it makes any difference.

I'm also pretty much completely out of cupcake colby. Oh well.

I'm actually excited about the new trap just because of that insane power bonus. If you equipped it with the Tiki base and a power charm, you'd have a power bonus of 49%!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is just nuts. I'll still be buying it too. . . .just because I can, but the CCT is still an overall better trap.

I too am just waiting on the red wax; however, I'm loving this event due to all of the orb drops and the gift boxes. I've gotten like 8 gift boxes so far. Inside I've gotten an attraction charm, a luck charm, eight pieces of SB+, 17 pieces of stale cheese, one king's credit, and 10 pieces of Stale SB+.

Something interesting I found: Using the orbs dropped in this event area is a GREAT way of making money (particularly if you get some stale SB+ from the gift boxes). I've used them to craft Super Rotten Charms (each of which sells for around 4500 on the marketplace). I've made close to 60K gold just in charms in here! It might be a good idea for those of you who need quick money to buy this trap. (Seriously thinks that, when paired with a REALLY good base, this trap could be better than the digby drillbot. . . which has a pathetic luck rating)

Even with the combined powers/power bonus of the Birthday Candle Kaboom/Tiki Base/Empowered Anchor Charm (52% power bonus), the final power total is only 4408. Switching out traps for the Christmas Cracker, the final power total is 4795. So the power bonus looks impressive til you actually crunch the numbers and find out it's not that spectacular.
I do agree with you that it's probably a lot better than the Digby Drillbot.

I never claimed that I thought it was better than the CCT, did I? I crunched the numbers of the new trap/tiki base/power charm on Saturday night, and the power came out to be 4201 (if memory serves me correctly).

I need two more event mice: the Terrible Twos and the Buckethead...

Also, I haven't gotten any of the loot drops for the trap... *shrugs* Guess it's just gonna be a repeat of the Festive event. I didn't get all the loot drops for the DDA trap, either.

Chloe, equip your luckiest trap setup if you haven't done so already. Luck increases the chance of a particular loot item dropping. So far, the loot drop rate for this event seems to be less than 50%. Hang in there everybody

Well, my setup adds up to 33 luck...so, I'd say that's pretty good.
