@wolf, with just the Venus Mouse Trap, I can't say I'm terribly surprised. ;)) Did you catch anything at all?

Nope... out of 7 attempts Nada. So I have switched to the stalest setup I have in an effort to stale some radioactive blue cheese ;)

I've got just over 90K gold and only three more scrap metal to go before I am able to craft my MSB! I will probably be hunting non-stop for the rest of the day (as I really don't have anything else to do today for a change :P ). If I go to bed tonight at 10PM like I usually do, that'll mean that I have 7.5 hours of hunting to go. That means that I'll need about 12,000 gold per hour if I want it tonight. (Not very likely. . . . . but not impossible).

If nothing else, I'll get it first thing tomorrow morning! SQUEE!!!

EDIT: After completing an online survey through the MH site, I got 31 SB+, 18 of which, I went ahead and sold. The result? I had enough gold to buy all of the platinum for my molten shrapnel base!!!! YAY! Now I just need two more scrap metal and it's all mine!!!!!!

EDIT Number 2: I'VE FINALLY GOT IT!!! YAY!

So how are you enjoying the Nerg Plains Chloe? I've told other people, so I apologize if I'm repeating myself, but the Tribal Isles was like a far more fun version of the Dojo. ;))

@wolf, great idea on a place to hang out and stale cheese. How's that coming along?

@DiGs, that's so awesome! :D It's a great base. In some instances it outperforms the Spellbook and Magma Bases.... but only just. So I've never really had an excuse to get it. :P

I managed to max out my amplifier in the Seasonal Garden and I've hit the Tower. I'm at 98.24% of the way to Countess and should at least get one full percent while I"m here. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday I will be at the new level?!?!! :D😀 (Watch them release the new Baron area while I'm here LOL)

Excellently, infact so excellently that I just crafted the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap...

WOOT! Congratulations! That's a pretty good tactical trap, and should see you through the rest of Whisker Woods (save for the silth mouse). It should also fare thee well in furoma (at least until you can craft Ambush).

My attempts at catching another dragon were futile. I attracted several, but didn't manage to nab a single one. I did however get enough dragon embers off of subservient dragons, so that now I will be able to craft Balack's Lantern. Just saving up enough gold to purchase it right now.

Any advice from the upper-ups on how to deal with Balack's Cove?

@wolf, Hurrah and congrats! :D

Maybe. ;)) I couldn't catch a Hydra Mouse to save my life even with the Ambush Trap, I farmed for him for so long that I made enough money to just buy the ship blueprints. But if you can catch the Hydra Mouse, wolf, with the Venus Mouse Trap, more power to ya! lol

Any advice from the upper-ups on how to deal with Balack's Cove?

This area is pretty straight forward. Make sure you watch the tide timer. Mid tide gives you a chance at catching the Riptide Mouse (the one that washes you out) though I'm not sure how much of a chance, High Tide gives you a 100% chance of being washed out. If you get washed out of the Cove while you're afk, the Pygmy Swarm will eat your Vanilla Stilton cheese.

Second, you have two setup options. The first is the Ancient Box Trap and the second is the ACRONYM. The ACRONYM trap will catch all of the little mice quite well but has about a 30% chance of catching the three Lich mice (the ones you actually want). The ABT will not do as well against the little mice, dropping your chance at catching them from somewhere in the 90% range to the 50% range, but it increases your chance of catching the Lich mice to about 35%. ;)) Kat prefers the ABT, I prefer the ACRONYM. Oh, and Balack can only be caught with the ABT. Good luck! :D

Actually, FK. The furoma.com-catch-rate-estimater-quasi-beta ( ;)) ) has roughly equal catch rates for ACRONYM and ABT for the Derr, Elub, and Nerg Lich mice. Therefore, I've equipped ACRONYM with my MSB.

I currently have 15 Vanilla Stilton Cheese, and am hoping that that will be enough to earn myself a bit more gold. Once I earn some more gold, I can craft some more (I have 90 vanilla beans).

Congrats on your trap, wolf! :)

I've been hunting in the Nerg Plains and I think I'm doing pretty well! :) I've only missed a few mice and had only about 2 or 3 red boxes.

I need 4 more mice: Defender, Slayer, Grandfather (gotta catch him in Cape Clawed) and the Chieftain. I have 25 Savoury Vegetables, but all the ingredients to craft Gumbo once I get 5 more. :) Then I'll try for the Chieftain and maybe the Grandfather mouse.

As for traps/bases, I'm a bit unsure as to what I should try for at this moment...Advice? :D

I don't think you can go wrong so long as you keep the Rewer's Riposte equipped. I'd pair it with your candy cane base which will give you a high luck setup. This will really help you in gaining yellow pepper seeds (which are dropped by the Defender, Slayer and Chieftain). You'll need a TON of these seeds later down the road, so farm as many as you can right now.

The main purpose of the Grandfather is to get his thorned vine, which is used to craft the Thorned Venus Mousetrap (and the Horrific Venus MouseTrap). I don't think you'll be doing this, as the Rewer's Riposte is better than both of them.

Mm-hmm, I wasn't going to try for the Venus traps, but I was thinking that I might need a stronger physical trap later down the road. The only one I have right now is the Swiss Army Mouse Trap. :P I wanted to have a picture of my next goal in mind. :)

Eh... in this case I wouldn't trust the numbers. That's not how the devs programmed that area to work. But hey, what do I know? I personally did see an ever-so-slight difference between the two, but I found I preferred the ACRONYM cause I got tired of the little piddly mice stealing my stuff. ;))

In the Tribal Islands, use the same trap setup to catch the higher level mice that you're using to catch the lower level mice. So what DiGs said. ;)

The main purpose of the Grandfather is to get his thorned vine

Or to complete the whole set of mice.... in which case, he's still important. ;))

ETA: @Chloe, I think you know this already, but I wanted to make sure cause of the way you worded your sentence, the Venus Mouse Trap isn't physical, it's tactical.

If you use the Swiss Army Trap in Derr Dunes, I can more or less guarantee you that you're going to get pummeled to death! If I were you, I'd either purchase the Digby Drillbot, or craft the Onyx Mallet. Without one of those, you'll never get far enough in Derr to do yourself any good. Once you get the rhino horn off of the Elder mouse, I'd advise you upgrading to the Rhinobot as quickly as you can.

*nods* I know it's tactical. I don't need an upgrade on tactical, but I guess what I said was a little unclear.

What I'm trying to say, and apparently failing ;)), is what physical trap should I upgrade/get later on in the game when I'll need a stronger physical trap? Just so I know when the time comes. :P

Okay, hmm, two options...For either one, I need more gold. :P Thank you! Hehe.

Haha, yeah, I went back in and edited my post cause I realized what you were trying to say but I was too slow.

Your ultimate goal is the Rhinobot.

Yeah, sorry. I know I worded it weird. My brain doesn't like to function properly until at least noon. :P ;))

Your ultimate goal is the Rhinobot.

I just looked at it on the wiki...I've got a long way to go. :P =))

So, goals I need to complete are:
-Finish catching the Nerg Tribe.
-Buy the Digby Drillbot when I have the gold.
-Get the Rhino Horn and other ingredients for the Rhinobot.
-Upgrade to the Rhinobot.

...Ah, well. Back to hunting!
