Boy, this is crazy! Since using my last Prospector's Charm this afternoon, I've been back and forth as far as how many mice I catch each hour. One hour, it was 2. Then it was 1. The last hour, I caught 5. Nothing new and exciting, but I'm doing really well financially. (As far as leveling, I'm just under 60%, so I have a bit more to go before I can finally upgrade to the Double Diamond-- if that's still a good plan.) Unfortunately, I'm really low on cheese- specifically the kinds that I can transform into Gnarled and/or Radioactive. I do have 85 pieces of Radioactive, though.

Well now I have enough points to upgrade the Venus Mouse Trap, I just need the trap (and the radioactive sludge I believe).

So I need about 150000 gold... thats 50000 less than last time I stopped by... And still no Vampire Mouse :(

Wolf, you only need 20 radioactive sludge to upgrade the trap. If you haven't gotten that much alread, go ahead and friend some of us on MH, and we can start sending it to you ;)

I'm getting low on Catacomb cheeses (9 Radioactive Blue and 5 Ancient), but I'm getting awfully close to my scrap metal goal. I've got 192 pieces of the stuff right now!!! I'm hoping that I can get the last 8 pieces of scrap metal using the cheese that I have. Otherwise, I'm going to have to travel over to the bazaar, buy ionized salt, travel back to the catacombs and make some ancient cheese. This is going to hit my gold supplies (which currently hovers around 360,000, half way to the 720,000 needed for the MSB.)

I think that my current plan (after I get my scrap metal) is to head over to the Tribal Isles again. Now that I have a pretty good physical trap, I want to go after the Derr tribe again, build up some red pepper seeds (and gold ;)) ), make some more inferno cheese, and go after another dragon.

I need 6 more pieces of scrap metal...and much more gold before I can complete my next goal. :P

In a couple hours, I'm gonna have to make another Ionized Salt run. *sigh*

My rune count is 37. It hasn't gone up much since yesterday, but that's alright.

You are gathering them remarkably quickly! It took me around two months to farm 100 runes! (Of course, I was also alternating between the tribal isles, and the catacombs). Keep up the good work, Chloe!!!

I feel your pain ;)).

I think I've changed my mind. I'm heading over to the tribal isles now. I've got 108 pieces of havarti cheeses, and 54 gumbo. The gumbo will bring me a pretty good gold rate in the Derr Dunes (I hope), and the havarti should gather me some fire salt in the JoD.

Thanks! I won't last that long this time around, but that's just 'cause my cheese is running out. :P

I feel your pain ;)).

It's awful. :P It wouldn't be so bad if you only needed 1 per recipe. BUT 6??? Ugh. :-o

If friending people isn't an option for your wolf, save about 30-40 pieces of RB Cheese, go pretty much anywhere besides the Mousoleum and Labratory (I recommend the Training Grounds or Great Gnarled Tree), setup a trap with the stalest setup available to you, and equip the cheese until you get 20 sludge. :)

The gumbo will bring me a pretty good gold rate in the Derr Dunes (I hope)

I wouldn't count on that. :P ;) Now Crunchy Cheese, that outta do you quite nicely. :D

It wouldn't be so bad if you only needed 1 per recipe. BUT 6???

At some point in the game I finally snapped and just bought up a TON of crafting supplies for the Tribal Isles cheeses cause I got so tired of traveling to a store. I've since used up a lot of that stuff, but I still have over 8,000 salt and 17,000 curds and whey. ;))

So is the game running a little bit sluggish for anyone besides me this morning? I keep getting "The Tiny Mouse's legs were too slow to collect your data" page or whatever it actually says ;))

In other news (and hopefully I won't jinx myself by saying this) but I'm having one of the better ZT runs I've had in a long time. As of this morning, I had actually made 3,000 gold profit there. :)) Or at least, until you include Attraction Charms and then it's back in the red again. ;)) (A note for future ZT runners, unless you donate real money for SB or do offers or whatever, you will never make a profit in ZT) Hopefully I will get the Queen real soon, followed closely by the King, and then another successful Tower run will be complete. I've almost made 1% in rank since yesterday. :D

Er. . . yeah, I meant to say Gouda, but I went ahead and crafted some more crunchy as I had the ingredients. 3 trap checks, 3 missed mice :(. I just don't understand why I didn't catch at least one of them:

Trap: Rhinobot
Base: Tiki Base
Cheese: Crunchy
Charm: Power Charm

Trap Power: 6,272
Power Bonus: 19%
Luck: 21
Attraction Bonus: 5%
Effectiveness: Mild

Yep, it's doing that to me, too.

@ DiGs, my brother was hunting in Derr the other day with the exact same setup as you, only without the golden shield. He'd catch and miss mice in streaks. He'd catch four mice in a row, and then miss five mice in a row. So hopefully you'll catch something soon. :)

With your setup (not including the charms), your catch rate should look something like this...

Guardian 40.55%
Gladiator 36.50%
Derr Chieftain 30.15%

So you should catch maybe one in every three mice or so?

What I'm really curious about is if you're first trip to the Jungle of Dread was beginner's luck or if you'd continue to do just as well if you went back there again.

I did catch a Guardian mouse just now, but so far that only gives me a 1/5 catch rate thus far. I have always had wrotten luck in here ;))

EDIT: I'm down to 1/7 catches now :(

We'll find out soon enough, won't we? I have plenty of havarti cheese, and need fire salt, so after this crunchy is used up, I'm heading into the Jungle again.

Looks like you ended on a strong(er) note with four more catches. :) What was your final tally?

So I knew I shouldn't have said anything up above about how well I was doing because now I can't catch a mouse. :P :)) Let alone a Queen. Ah well. *mutters under her breath* You're going DOWN Queenie.

Final tally was 4/15, which comes out to 27%. Very disappointing indeed. However, I did farm enough red pepper seeds to grow enough inferno peppers to craft 12 more inferno havarti. I still need the fire salt before I do so, and thus I have moved into the JoD.

Along those lines, I've been having wrotten luck, which leads me to believe that I was only having beginners luck with my first excursion in here. So far I've gone after the Magma Carrier mouse 4 times. Thrice he got away, and once he got away taking 11,000+ points with him :-S

EDIT: So far, here are the totals for magma carrier mice. Ever since I started hunting in the Jungle of Dread, I have exclusively used the Gorgon Trap. Out of 18 trap checks (going after the magma carrier mouse) the gorgon trap caught 7/18 mice. This is a percentage of 38.9%. This is actually much better than the estimation of furoma.com; they had me at 17.51%. All of these catches were obtained using power charms, but I'm not sure which base I used the first time through. I used the Candy Cane base this time.

The next mouse after which I'm going, is the Chitinous mouse (which I think is really freaky looking ;)) ). Furoma.com has me sitting with a catch rate of about 18.9% with him. We'll see how well the gorgon trap does against this scorpion-like mouse.

Furoma.com has me sitting with a catch rate of about 18.9% with him.

This is probably going to end up being an incredibly stupid question. About two months ago, Furoma.com posted a giant banner across their catch rate and trap setup pages saying their stuff was no longer accurate. Then at the end of January, they took all of their features down with a note that they were overhauling their site. Now all I see there is the Analytics page (which is awesome) and an area to submit your hunts to their database so they can collect info and put those trap setup pages back up and have them be accurate again.

So, where on earth are you getting the estimates again? (Would love to be able to use those features)

Here's a screenshot of what the site looks like on my end.

AND!! I finally got my Queen Mouse. YAY!! Bring on the King!
