It says that the Assassin is very difficult to catch. Am I able to catch it with the Rewers or should I not even bother trying to catch it now? Maybe I should try some charms?

You can catch her. She's just a little more rare than the other mice in the dojo. If I caught her with Ambush, you'll have no problems catching her with Rewers. Just be patient (I know it's hard :P )

Alright. Just making sure that I can catch her. I'll be patient. :P Maybe. ;)

@Chloe, The Assassin is difficult to catch more because she's rare, not because she's hard. I don't think she's much harder than the students, certainly not more so than the masters. ETA: I type too slow, I see DiGs already answered this for you. LOL

So this morning I headed over to the bazaar for some more ionized salt (buying that stuff is a PAIN!)

That's why I usually buy about 300 at a time. ;)) I know, I know, you're broke. ;))

I kept getting robbed over and over again

Fun, isn't it? The ABT is only "very effective" against the Acolyte Mouse but not the others. If you manage to snag the Acolyte before the Lich, the Lich is fairly easy to catch with the ACRONYM trap. By the way, this is giving you a taste of Balack's Cove. ;)

@Wolf, no, I did not have any trouble with the game last night, but I also wasn't on too much. But congratulations on finally getting to Master! Enjoy the new levels. :D

So I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do with myself in the game right now. I know the new Baroness area is due out soon, so I'm mainly concentrating on making money, but I'm also starting to restock on potions and such for tournament purposes (whenever they get those finished up). I'm determined to catch Feedback Friday today, though they haven't announced a time yet. Hopefully we'll get some new news. :D

ETA: Missed seeing this post.....

I just purchased the repaired Mousoleum map so in five days I'll have a new location to hunt at. In the meantime, I am trying to figure out if there's something I should be doing.

Some suggestions I have are collect potions (Gnarled, Wicked Gnarly, Radioactive Blue), make gold like crazy, and yeah, working on the Onyx Mallet Trap isn't a bad idea either.
I'm not a huge fan of hunting in the Bazaar, you just don't get much out of that area, it's mostly there for the stores, though I guess it's a pretty good location for orbs now. :)

It's alright. :) I bought a fresh supply of Brie cheese and now I'm going to stay in the Dojo until I catch the little fiend. :P

I need more Cheese Fang/Claw tokens, too, so that I can go after the Masters and then get more shards.

Ok, I got a mutated white mouse, now once I get a mutated grey (any suggestions on how to do that?) I can move (if I should).

The question is do I:

a) Go back to the Great Gnarled Tree and see if I can get the fairy mouse?
b) Go to the Town of Digby? (What mouse drops the map there again?)
c) Go to the Mountain to get some more gold?
d) Go to the Meadow to get more gold?
e) Stay at the Laboratory?

Right now I'm mostly between a and d, but any of those I'm open too.

Patience. ;))

a) Go back to the Great Gnarled Tree and see if I can get the fairy mouse?

Just sometime before you hit Grandmaster, no real rush.

b) Go to the Town of Digby? (What mouse drops the map there again?)

Same answer as above. Zombie Mouse.

c) Go to the Mountain to get some more gold?
d) Go to the Meadow to get more gold?

The Meadow is definitely not a good place to farm for gold. The Mountain's not that fantastic either.

e) Stay at the Laboratory?

The purpose of the Laboratory is to farm Radioactive Blue Potions (you know the gaming term 'farm' right? It means collect or gather). If you feel you have a sufficient amount of potions, there's no need to stay in the Lab. On the other hand, you will need literally hundreds of Radioactive Blue Potions throughout the Mousoleum and Catacombs, so you can't have too many.

I'm gathering from your questions that your primary goal is to gather map pieces first and foremost and make money second? Last I saw (on the previous page), you were using the "mouse trebuchet, wooden base with target, swiss cheese, and no charms." The swiss cheese and no charms is good, but that trap setup is rapidly becoming too wimpy for where you're wanting to hunt. ;))

If I were you, I'd perhaps pause on progression for now and save up money for a physical trap upgrade, as well as purchasing your first shadow and tactical traps!

Some suggestions on making gold quickly....
~ Don't use any cheese more expensive than Swiss. The only mouse you won't make profit on is the white mouse, but you'll at least break even. So Swiss cheese is a safe investment.
~ Don't use charms. Let's take that 100g per Swiss Cheese and tack another 200g per power charm on that (which is the cheapest charm). That suddenly means that any mouse you catch will have to be worth more than 300g to make a profit, and no matter which mouse you catch, you'll make a lot less of a profit. Charms at this stage in the game are a gold killer. The money is much better invested towards trap and base upgrades.
~ Minimize travel. I've noticed, wolf, that you like to bounce back and forth between places. I don't know if that's to make things more interesting...? (It does get boring after a while sitting in the same place.) But even with the free travel back to the Meadow, traveling eats up a lot of gold if you're doing it a lot. And as you progress through the game, it's only gonna get more expensive! (like right now, if I were to travel to Zugzwang's Tower, it would cost me 9,510 gold $-) )
~ Have extra orbs? Sell them on the marketplace! I know you gathered a bunch of them in the Mountain, and if you don't have anything in mind for them, you can sell them back on the marketplace to make some extra gold. :)

Obviously, on all these tips, you can take them or leave them. :) Good luck!

I'm hunting with the last of my gnarled in the Great Gnarled Tree. I'm using the Rewers trap with my magma base and I'm doing fairly well at catching Curious Chemists. I'm not using charms. In a little over 20 pieces of cheese, I've caught 7 Curious Chemist mice.

I'm going to head back to the Seasonal Garden when the season changes. I only need one more set of torn pages and the blueprints for the spellbook base!

Thanks for all the advice FK :D I sold all but 1 of my simple orbs, which gave me just enough gold to get the Swiss Army Mouse Trap. I hope I made the right decision :-s But the new trap has thus far ended my long running mouseless streak, so I think it might :D I'm using it, the dehydration base, and swiss in the Great Gnarled Tree.

The Swiss Army Trap is really good, Wolf. It should serve all of your "physical trap" purposes for some time. I wouldn't even consider upgrading until possibly the NVMRC trap (or perhaps even skipping that to get the Digby Drillbot).

My first two bouts with the acolyte realm have ended in tragedy. I'm down to 60 runes (and thus am farming more in the Forbidden Grove), to try to build up enough supplies to have another go. This is definitely my least favourite area so far (outside the dojo that is :P )

I actually really enjoyed the Dojo. One of my favorites, actually. ;))

I'm in Nerg now, and enjoying it. Can you believe the other night, no one would let me play Derr in Scrabble? :P

That's not fair. :P I once tried to put "Bantha" as a word when playing with friends. They said no. Then I played with my brother, who's a Star Wars fan, and he allowed it. :P Why doesn't everyone else?

Anyway, that was completely off-topic...

Right now, I'm in the Dojo, still trying to go after the Assassin mouse...My gold is steadily going up, thanks to the occasional Master of the Dojo. :)

Also, I'm working on selling some of my Simple Orbs. I have 10 of them and I'm not using them, so I figured I'd sell 'em. :)

Did anybody happen to catch Feedback Friday. I caught the last fifteen minutes or so, but they didn't talk any about the lunar-new-year or Valentines day plans. FK, perhaps you saw it?

Yep, it was quite underwhelming since Dave (the head honcho) was out of town. ;))

They confirmed there would be a Chinese New Year/Valentine event, including new mice, but it would be small and short because they've been busy working on other things. They also confirmed it would be before Valentine's Day.

Because they are both technically proper nouns and/or not in the Scrabble dictionary.... :P Bantha, though, technically could be argued as usable...

I did that too. Can turn a pretty good profit that way. I figured I'd do that now, while they're still less than common.

Anyway, with a high luck trap, I'm getting veggie drops on about 1/3 mice. Guess I'll be making Gumbo soon.... ;)

That's a pretty good drop rate, Lady A. I know how anxious I was to get enough savoury veggies to make my first gumbo cheese. I really wanted the thorned vine so that I could upgrade to my Horrific Venus Mouse Trap ;)).

I'm currently collecting runic cheese (Up to 35 pieces too!). After some rather heavy loot drops today (I even caught a scavenger mouse that dropped 7 runes!!!!), I should be set for another trip into the acolyte realm tomorrow night. By my calculations, the forbidden grove will close at 7PM tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have better luck this time.

My stale cheese has certainly taken a hit though. . . I'm down to 65 pieces. Newbies, never underestimate the power of stale cheese!
