I'd prefer to be sent stale cheese. It's always a money maker in the catacombs, and you can never really have too much of it.

Of course, variety is the spice of life. I'm just happy to get gifts ;)).

Still after the grandfather mouse :( Golly it sure does take a lot of time to rack up 30 savoury veggies.

I see you're using Gouda now though instead of Halloween cheese. That will help a lot because it will take the Chameleon Mouse out of the mix (which does NOT drop savoury veggies).

Cool. It's actually been less than a full week since I started playing but already I really like it.

I blew a ton of gold on the Mary O'Nette and so far it's working just about the same as my High-Tension Spring was. Oh well. ;))

Ditto most of that. I'm still catching mostly just White, Brown, and Grey Mice, but the Mary O'Nette seems to have improved my luck with catching Dwarf Mice (not that they're worth a whole lot). Although I've only had the Mary O'Nette for about six hours so it's probably a little soon to tell. ;))

What's your current trap setup? A wooden base with a target and a Mary O'Nette weapon, along with some tasty swiss cheese that those nasty Steel Mice keep making off with.

Where are you hunting? The Town of Gnawnia (that is way too much fun to say aloud).

What mice are you having trouble catching? All of them. Other than your standard White, Brown, Grey, Cowardly, and Lighting Rod of course. :p

Cool daughter of the King! Nice to have another convert. :D

Just spotted this tonight on Mousehunt news....

Giveaway this November!

The King is planning a November Giveaway Event!!! Lots of Mobster and Leprechaun mice will be on the loose worth SUPER|brie+ and real cash prizes. We've taken feedback from past giveaways into account and are adding a few "mini" prize mice worth in-game items, new unique looking traps and more! We hope these new mice will provide something to win for everyone!

The Leprechaun Mouse is currently the only one I am missing so completing the full collection of mice should be quite something! :D

Sweet! I am missing Balack, and those two specialty mice. Hope I can at least catch one of the two in the giveaway. I'm heading back to the seasonal garden until we hear more about it.

I would love to catch a mobster mouse, as well as a leprechaun mouse! Something tells me it isn't going to be easy to get either though :(

*Wishes that Ronza would come back as she hasn't been here in a long time*

As of 3 a.m. this morning: I caught my first Diamond Mouse! :D And at 4 a.m. I caught my first Longtail and moved from Recruit to Apprentice. The great thing about Mousehunt is that I can catch mice at 3 o'clock in the morning while I'm sleeping. I'm pretty sure I'll be playing this game for quite a while.

I'm glad to hear that NarniaWeb has another faithful convert!!! And congratulations on becoming an apprentice. If you want to start racking up the bucks, head over to the Harbour. The mice are tougher, but there's a lot more mice in there.

^^ They've actually changed it now so you can't get to the Harbour til you're an initiate (which comes after apprentice). But the Windmill is available. :)

*sigh* Why am I always wrong :P

I'm having another go at the Grandfather mouse right now. I caught one earlier in the evening, but he didn't drop the Thorned Vine that I so desperately need. It is really eating at me that I can't seem to get this guy. I just really need to get that thorned vine so I can go back to the dojo, and get that dojo sensei!

*really likes to have closure. . . and the dojo's door is still wide open X(

EDIT: I CAUGHT HIM! I got the thorned vine, crafted the thorned venus mouse trap, turned that into the horrific venus mousetrap, and am now perched in the pinnacle chamber waiting for my prey!!!! *hee hee hee*

My trap finally snagged a Diamond Mouse this morning (as usual, while I was sleeping). I've missed him three times before so triumph was nice.

Other than the very sparse catch of a new mouse, I seem to still be able to only catch the smaller mice. It's like "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" only in mice form, One Mouse Two Mouse Brown Mouse White Mouse. ;))

I upgraded my trap to the Trebuchet (affectionately called the "mouse flinger") a day or so ago and my luck hasn't really improved all that much from the Mary O'Nette. I migrated to the Windmill for awhile, just for a change of scenery, until I ran out of bait then I went on a cheese shopping spree back in Town.

I'm still using the Target base, but I'm wondering if I should upgrade to a different base to improve my chances of catching different mice. I've been browsing the MHwiki for some hints and the Explosive base is suggested, but would the Stone base be just as effective too?

Also, I saw mention of a "Feedback Friday" in the news ticker, forgot all about it, until I saw this thread on HitGrab's MH forums. In case anyone is interested. ;))

I watch Feedback Friday quite often, though not religiously. Some weeks they're interesting and informative and other weeks they're being really silly. I missed it last Friday because I was gone most of the day. Though I always read through the threads afterwards if I remember them. Looking forward to the event this Tuesday if they finish it in time. :)

By the way, I thought I'd explain the difference between Power and Luck on traps since it gets confusing for a lot of people.

Power is pretty static. The more power you have, the better you can catch mice. Pretty self explanatory. ;)) Luck is a bit different and it is exactly what it says it is. For myself, I like to think of it as 'Good Luck' The higher the number, the better you can catch mice including ones you shouldn't be able to catch, but it's NOT static. It's very random.

There's an eternal debate on MH of whether it's better to have a higher power setup or a higher luck setup. Personally I think it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other if you're only looking at catching mice. However, luck does something else you should know about... ;)

Luck increases your chance of getting an item to drop. I've read through walkthroughs before that talk about getting the Swiss Army Mouse Trap and then skipping the NVMRC Forcefield Trap to go straight to the Digby Drillbot. I completely disagree. While the NVMRC trap may not have as much power as the Digby Drillbot and can't catch mice as well, it has so much more luck, that using it in the Laboratory or Great Gnarled Tree to farm potions makes it go a lot faster. (Pair it with a lucky base like the Dehydration Base.)

So high luck traps/bases are almost always worth getting when you can. They're usually Limited Edition items that Ronza brings or that show up at a special event (like the Halloween Event), but if you can afford them, they're definitely worth it! :)

Then again, I never even bought the NVMRC Forcefield Trap, and I did just fine in the Great Gnarled Tree (although I can't remember if I was using my swiss army mousetrap or if I already had my christmas cracker trap. . . . )

As far as the two of those bases are concerned, I went ahead and used the stone base. I found it to be pretty successful, but I'd upgrade it to the dehydration base as quickly as you can. (as it's a pretty good one).

I'm interested in getting the Tribal Base, merely because it has such an extreme power booster. But that's going to have to wait a bit as I'm still shy of the 14 million points needed to be able to purchase it :(

If it's points you need, then Elub Shore is the place to hunt. You won't get much in the way of gold, but your points will fly up. :)

qwertykate88, I like the Explosive Base better than the Stone Base. :) But more because of its stale rating and you'll need LOTS of stale cheese in the future. I think I've gone through over 1000 stale cheese in the last month or two. ;)) (Speaking of which, if anyone decides they want to send me a daily gift, please make it stale cheese. It's about the only thing I can use. :) ) But DiGs is right about the Dehydration Base. So if I were you, I'd aim for both the Dehydration and the Explosive Base. :)

Question for the smart people of the game: What do pepper seeds do? Obviously they grow into pepper plants, but then what? Should I hold onto the ones that I'm getting now, or should I go ahead and use them?
