okay. thanks fantasia
I might go ahead and get the Rewers Riposte trap (which is the one I was considering getting anyway ) and then try to earn enough to buy other things. lol

After reading your post, FK, I think I'm going to go ahead and buy the Rewers Riposte Trap and the Tiki blueprints. Such will conclude my ronzian purchases . Then it's back to hustling up more gold again, as I have nearly bankrupted myself buying all of these goodies
Wow. . . I've spent over 1.7 million in gold today .

Well... I finally decided to quit dithering and buy stuff. I bought:
seasonal base
runic base
blueprints for the tiki base
Rewers Riposte
I don't think I'm going to buy anything else unless you think I should fantasia?
I can't craft the tiki base yet 'cause I don't have the tribal base.
I'm going to take the seasonal base out for a spin in the seasonal garden. I think I'm going to camp out there and the tower for a bit and try and go after the stuff for the spellbook base that I need.
Now... my next question... craft heat bath or upgrade to the DDA?? I'm going to hold off until Ronza leaves to do either, but any suggestions on which one would tackle winter in the garden best?
I didn't get much from Rhonza, due to the fact that I'm a poor newbie, although I did get 10 splintered wood.
I have a question for all of you more experienced folks. Could someone please explain the cheese effect, specifically what stale and fresh mean? I know it effects how likely it is your cheese will become stale- I think- but I'm confused as to whether they both make it more likely, or does one make it less likely, and if so which is which.
Thanks,
Wolf
(PS. I bought the mouse Rocketine, although I'm still hanging out at Windmill for the moment)

the fresher it is, the less likely your cheese will go stale. at least that's how I always viewed things. lol

Pheonix is correct on the cheese issue.
Could someone do me a favor and list the costs of everything Ronza brought, excepting the arcane trap and the bacon base? I'm trying to determine how much to try to make before I head back to Ronza's.

So if a trap is "no effect" would that mean it's more likely to go stale than a stale one or less?

wolfy, if a trap has "no effect" then that means that the cheese will be less likely to go stale than a trap that has a higher stale rating
Here you go, Lady A
Pneumatic Tube Trap - 370,000 gold
Rewers Riposte - 605,000 gold
Seasonal Base - 412,000 gold
Runic Base - 580,785 gold
Splintered Wood - 150 gold
Tiki Base Blueprints - 170,000 gold

Stale cheese is important for later in the game. When you head into the catacombs/forbidden grove/acolyte realm, the more you have the better. I can run through several hundred pieces going after an acolyte or just farming gold. It can be used to craft ancient and runic cheese. It's much cheaper then using the potions.
Now... my next question... craft heat bath or upgrade to the DDA?? I'm going to hold off until Ronza leaves to do either, but any suggestions on which one would tackle winter in the garden best?
This reminds me that I forgot to post this.... Someone was kind enough to post the wrong stats for the Heat Bath on the Wiki. I thought it was a better trap for sure (before it had better power AND luck, now it's just power) but it's turned into another power vs luck battle. I have seen no official numbers crunched on the two traps.
It just turned Spring in the Garden yesterday, so you'll have a week and a half to decide.

If you have not done so already, take a look at the recipe for the Dehydration Base.

wolfy, if a trap has "no effect" then that means that the cheese will be less likely to go stale than a trap that has a higher stale rating
Yep. Here's the official full list of staleness ratings if you want to see it. Early on, you'll probably prefer a fresh rated trap so you're not losing so much cheese and therefore gold. But the first trap that I'd DEFINITELY recommend favoring the stale rating on is the Sinister Portal (stale) vs the Ambrosia Portal (fresh). Like Kat said, later on in the game, ALL stale cheese has it's uses, so I tend to favor stale trap setups.
How's everybody liking their new trap/base purchases so far?
Oh! And I did find out that Ronza will be here for a week!

I really like my runic base, which is the only trap component that I've used so far. Last night, I got two runes in the forbidden grove, but I wasn't in there nearly long enough to get a good feel as to whether it is worth it or not. Today, the forbidden grove opens at 11AM (EST), so I plan on spending most of the day in there. This'll be the big test .
After I've built up some gold supplies again (I'm just now back up to 100,000) I'm going to head over to the tribal isles and see how the Riposte trap works against the Nerg Tribe. I had been using the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap. . . so we'll just have to wait and see.
Fantasia, what are the correct stats for the heat bath? Does it look like the Double Diamond Adventure is comparable to it? (I thought that the DDA was only marginally comparable to my Ancient Spear Gun). I ask you, because you are the only person I know who has it

I decided to go with the Double Diamond. I went ahead and crafted it. I think I'm going to go ahead and aim for the heat bath crafting next.
I'm liking the Rewers Riposte that I've gotten. I'm now trying to earn enough gold to be able to buy something else

Here are the stats for both traps, take a look and see what you think. I mean I'm really happy with the Heat Bath. It was a huge upgrade from the ASG.
Heat Bath
Power:4,000
Power Bonus:5%
Attraction Bonus:0%
Luck:14
Cheese Effect:Stale
Double Diamond
Power:3,500
Power Bonus:0%
Attraction Bonus: 5%
Luck:18
Cheese Effect:Insanely Fresh

Cool! I can't wait to hunt with you on the next Seasonal Garden Winter to see how our traps compare. I'm aiming for the Cackle Lantern Trap next. Cause I really don't like the Clockapult.
Thanks, phoenix. looks like, if I'm going to get everything I want, I'll need 1.5 mil. I'm nearly at 200k now, so I'm hoping to at least get the tactical trap.
