N_a_H, have you crafted the dehydration base yet? You're going to have to buy the components of it, but it's a pretty nice base! It woudl do you well for a while.
I have surpassed my goal of 40 pieces of Tier VI cheese! I still have 18 pieces of Tier V cheese, and so anything after this is icing on the cake! I think I've got an eclipse mouse this time!!!
After I get my BEAUCOUP bucks, I think I'm going to spend most of it to upgrade my hydro trap. Currently, I've just got the ASP. I think I'll upgrade to the DDA.

Wolf, I would like to introduce you to one of the most amazing tools on Furoma.com. It's called the Log Summarizer. It does everything and more that you're trying to do by hand, and all you have to do is copy and paste your journal entries into a box, and then enter how much you spent on each cheese.
n_a_h, have you checked the wiki to see which items are available to you to craft? Particularly charms? (On the right side of this link, it shows which orbs are used in which charms.) Click on a charm and it will give you the full list of crafting materials. I'm guessing at this point in the game, the only one you'll have the all of the materials to make is the Rotten Charm. And as DiGs said, you should definitely be able to craft the Dehydration Base.
Also, I'm pretty sure that you haven't visited the Mountain yet. Don't forget to do this before leveling up to Master as it also has a few new mice and a map piece to unlock.
Good luck today DiGs on finishing up another run. Crossing my fingers that you get an Eclipse Mouse this time.
Meanwhile my goal is to finish up Wave 2 today which I should be able to do quite easily. 0-0-1-37-9
I finished up Tier V with 46 pieces of cheese. This is 6 more pieces than my goal was, and is 14 more pieces than I had last time. This is a very good thing!

Didn't know about that tool yet! So what else is on furoma.com?
Good Luck Digs! Is the eclipse the only mouse you need in the gauntlet?

Yep. I've caught all the others; the eclipse mouse is the only one that has eluded me so far, but I plan to rectify that action very shortly! Along those lines, I just managed to snag my first Tier VII potion! I'm doing SB+ conversions from here on out. Last time I went into Tier VII I had nine pieces of cheese. I'd like to at least have twelve this time, but I can't guarantee that I'll have that many (although I really hope I do!!!)
Furoma.com is generally an awesome site! They're currently undergoing a major overhaul due to the fact that so many new traps, bases, cheeses, and areas have been introduced into the game recently (not to mention charms, which revolutionized the way the game is played). Their catch rate estimate tool is still in beta testing (and thus isn't featured on the site), but you can access it by clicking here. I find that it's pretty good, but not one hundred percent accurate. As of right now, it can only tell you which trap is the best for going after a particular mouse, which charm will help you the best, which base, etc... They also have a travel planner here. Bascially, this allows you to save a TON of money by figuring out when it is advantageous to use Larry's Travels. Most of the time, it's worth it, but there are times when it is not. The travel estimate gives you the cheapest routes to go anywhere in the kingdom. Later on in the game, when timing becomes important for more and more areas, you can use the furoma.com timer spreadsheet. You can find that by clicking here. This tells you a few things. What season it is in the Seasonal Garden (Lord), the Tide Status in Balack's Cove (Hero), and the Forbidden Grove Timer (Legendary). When sending money to fellow hunters, they also have a tarriff calculator, but that's not as useful merely due to the rarity of giving away money.
Overall, it's a great tool to use. Once they get the site up and running again, it'll be even better.

The timer spreadsheet wasn't created and isn't run by Furoma.com, though they do link to it, and it's one of the most useful pages of information... particularly in the Seasonal Garden.
One area on their site DiGs didn't mention that I love to death are their analytics pages. It's more or less Mousehunt Locations 101 and just gives a brief overview of each area as well as tips for hunting there.
Well, I gave up on the Mages in Wave 2 as my catch rate was around 40% (supposed to be around 80% ) so I'm working on the Cavalry instead and having much better luck too.

Could it be that it's already time for another event? If only a weekend event:
Zombies in the Mousoleum and Catacombs have seemed especially restless recently... as if preparing for something. The King has sent Larry to investigate. Watch this space for more info.
The following image was also there:

What are y'all's thoughts?

How intriguing. And I see a new cheese as well.
I've no idea. I'd guess a weekend event myself. Or perhaps the Tournys are FINALLY ready for testing?
I was having a rotten time on Tier VI, but I had managed to snag one Tier VII potion. So I used it, equipped the Tier VII cheese, equipped ultimate luck charms (I had four left), and headed in. The last mouse I caught with those three pieces of cheese dropped a Tier VIII potion! So, poised to strike that wretched eclipse mouse out of the sky, I equipped my Ancient Box Trap, my Candy Cane Base (I did NOT want that cheese going stale), and for good measure I tapped on an ultimate power charm, taking my trap's power up to 9100! Then, I espied the beast creeping up to swipe the bait from off my trap! I sounded the horn, and in great dismay, he turned to run away with the cheese, however, his cloak got stuck in the Ancient Box Trap's hinge of eternity, and with a click and a crash, he was no more!
BOO-YAH!
I've still got twenty four pieces of Tier VI cheese, so who knows. . . maybe I'll get another

Oh good, this time I might actually be able to participate in a weekend event!
Travel planner?! *goes to investigate* Thanks guys!

Congrats Digs! Where are you going next?
I must say, I'm slightly disturbed by the zombie hand cheese. But if it ends in tournaments, that would be fantasitcally specacuful!
And I'm liking how fast I'm leveling up in the new area! I only have to complete it five times to reach Countess! Right now I'm having a hard time attracting mice though. Woe!
Thanks to the ones who gave me advice. I don't have quite enough wood to make the Dehydration base but I bought all the salt I need and the blueprints. For most of today, I was using Gilded cheese in the Mountain in hopes of catching a special mouse with a piece of the map but no such luck. So I'm going to switch to Special Brie overnight.
2:30 am - Catacombs
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught a 6 oz. Keeper Mouse worth 3,950 points and 3,900 gold. The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 Plankrun's Journal Cover
I wasn't expecting that... Whoot! That's a total of three pages for me

I'm finishing up using the rest of my gauntlet cheese today. After that I think I'm going to head over to the Seasonal Garden for my first run in there. Either that, or I'm going to go to the catacombs and spend the weekend there.
It depends on whether or not this event happens.

I was using Gilded cheese in the Mountain in hopes of catching a special mouse with a piece of the map but no such luck.
Gilded cheese is used to catch the Master Burglar mouse who can only be caught in the Town of Gnawnia and the Bazaar (the latter you haven't unlocked yet).
The mouse that drops the map piece in the Mountain is the Ninja mouse which can be caught with regular cheese. Super Brie not required.
However, having said that, if you do use SB, there are three mice there that can only be caught with that cheese. So there are benefits to using it there. Good luck!
That's a total of three pages for me
You have the same three pages I do. I've never been able to get the Back Cover. Congrats!

First up, let me say CONGRATS!! again on catching the Eclipse Mouse. That's pretty awesome. One more area to check off the list. I really can't wait to see what you think of Zugzwang's Tower.
Well I finally finished up Wave 2 last night. And interestingly enough, I finished with a streak of 6, so I thought "Ok, well, that's convenient." I equipped a Commander's Charm with the intention of demolishing the troops before I even got started. No luck, the guy showed up but I didn't catch him. Goodbye to one of my precious Commander's Charms. If the Warmonger isn't going to drop trap parts, the least he could do is drop more Commander's Charms.
At any rate, I'm about halfway through scouts hoping for one final nice, big streak to use my last Commander's Charm on, and then it will be nice and steady from there on out.
