rofl... I saw that. The egg nog continues to evolve.
I did catch one with the fuses. I think I've caught 3 or so since the release of the stocking mouse.
So, I am quite certain, not positive, but quite certain that when they added the Stocking Mouse in, something bugged out in their Holiday Mouse attraction rate with Gingerbread Cheese. I checked the Mousehunt forums and I'm not the only one having ridiculously bad luck right now. Gingerbread Cheese is working about as well as Cheddar at the moment. Hopefully this IS a bug and they get it fixed soon.
I would like my Stocking Mouse.
I caught my stocking mouse this evening, and was having horrible catch rates with GB cheese, so I switched to SB+, and caught after ten tries. It also dropped the festive fuse, so I'm quite happy!
I currently have 3 frozen fromage, but I don't know how much one is going to need to catch the special mouse at the end. I suppose time will tell.
It looks as if the Scrooge mouse is going to be released tomorrow. I've never got one, and am hoping that I can get one fairly quickly, and that my trap setup is powerful enough to get it.

Thanks to FK and Kat, I have upgraded to the Gingerbread House Surprise trap with Gingerbread Base! Really hoping for some great results!
Edit: Thanks to those of you who have sent me King's Credit, I was able to buy a SuperBrie supply pack (10 pieces) and am ridiculously excited right now!
Edit 2: And I now own the Stocking Mouse!!
"To the Great Western Wood, I give you...."
Congratulations to all of you catching your Stocking Mice finally. I also caught mine last night using Brie. So clearly something is up with their Gingerbread Cheese. Hopefully it will be fixed today with the release of the Scrooge Mouse.
However, it's Friday I'm looking forward to. Unknown new mice!!!!
Thanks to FK and Kat, I have upgraded to the Gingerbread House Surprise trap with Gingerbread Base! Really hoping for some great results!
The Gingerbread Base is an excellent base. The trap... eh... it's ok. Since it's a tactical trap, it will save you having to buy the Venus Mouse Trap and/or Zugzwang's Last Move when you get to those locations, but as soon as you can get the Ambush Trap, it's better. So I don't think you'll use it too long.
And just so you and all the other newcomers with this trap are aware, the Gingerbread House is a tactical trap, so hang on to your physical trap as well because it will catch different mice better.
Oh! And one other thing. The devs (developers) confirmed in the last Feedback Friday that there will indeed be another LE trap during this event. So... yay! They haven't figured out what type to make it yet though. Should be interesting to see.
ETA: Since the Stocking Mouse is dropping fuse and the Scrooge Mouse is dropping a frozen heart, I have a very strong suspicion that each of the Christmas Mice from here on out will be dropping an LE item that will be turned in for the new LE trap. That's how they did it last year, that seems to be the direction they're heading this year.
*raises hand*
I have a question. Can I do anything with the Festive Fuse? One of the Stocking Mice I caught dropped it...

There is a fairly large update that just went in, I'm sure you all saw it, and it will answer a lot of questions for everybody, including yours Chloe.
See the news post here.
Highlights:
-3 new mice have appeared on the All Mice -> Event Mice tab. I'm sure to go along with the reappearance of the Scrooge Mouse.
-Make SURE you are getting the new item drops off of mice. (ie Festive Fuse, Heart of Ice, etc) They are the components for the new trap. (See Below)
-There's a new Seasoned Gouda Potion that will convert cheese to catch the tough Christmas Mice [ETA: I've gotten two potions so far, both off of Steel Mice]
-New explosive toboggan trap (see the Trapsmith). Power type - hydro. There will also be an upgradeable version for the upper level hunters. More details to come.
-Tomorrow will be the last, biggest, and best Elf Madness!! (AKA, be sure to have Gingerbread or SuperBrie equipped to get as many gifts as you can!)
-And last but not least "The star is not all that went missing during the massive explosion of last year's eggnog... The festi-villain also managed to steal a special gift the King was holding onto for the hunters. The King doesn't want to spoil the surprise, but is eager for hunters to track down the villain and claim their gift!"
I am very confused at this point. Where do these gouda potions come from? I've checked the general store, the cheese shop, and the trapsmith. None of them have it. Are mice dropping the potions?

Yup. THe potions are dropped by the mice. I'll head back to the comet soon.
Ooh, exciting. I will definitely be keeping more of a watch on everything!

I still haven't caught my Scrooge mouse yet (I knew that this one would be tricky ), but I did catch a steel mouse that dropped one of the seasonal gouda potions. So I used that (600 gold per piece, and able to be used on gingerbread so that newer members who can't buy gouda yet, are still able to participate), and attracted a Stealth Mouse. It dropped something called "Climbing Pitons." I have no idea what they will be used for. . . but they look pretty harsh. Perhaps in the new hydro trap's upgrade?
By the way. . . would it be possible for anybody with whom I am friends, to send me some Gingerbread planks? I'm down to 20 pieces of GB cheese.

I received two Seasoned Gouda Potions from two obliging Steel Mice. I used one of the bottles on GB cheese. I've been successful every time...except when a Lambent Crystal Mouse ran off with a piece of it...Ah, well. I'll catch him later.
I stocked up on GB for the Elf Madness, too.

Ok, the Mousehunt Analytics page is continuously being updated for the Festive Comet. I'm not sure that it's 100% accurate (for example, it says that the Nutcracker Mouse is a SB only catch and I caught 2-3 last night with Seasonal Gouda), but since the devs have constantly been changing catch rates and drop rates, it may be more accurate than I realize.
It does also say that the Scrooge Mouse is SuperBrie only and I'd believe it because with the exception of the first hour it was released yesterday, I haven't seen a single person catch it unless they're using SB. (Perhaps Seasonal Gouda will attract it too?) So heads up on that. I'm not using my SB today though, I'll only catch Elf Mice. I may give it a try tomorrow.
Anyways, very useful info here...

Crackers, FK! I was hoping to hang on to some of my SB+. Blast and botheration! Oh well. . . I guess I'll have to come off of some of it.
I've caught 8 elf mice so far today! Lots of great goodies in those gift boxes!
