It's a decision I fully, completely, emphatically agree with.
Well. . . I disagree
Wolf, I've been meaning to ask you, how are things going in the gauntlet? Farming a lot of Tier 2 potions are we? (For some reason I thought you'd made it through the gauntlet already. I knew you hadn't gotten your Eclipse, but I thought that you were nearly finished). And can I ask why in the name of heaven and earth you are using your Tacky Glue Trap in there? Good grief! Anything would be better than that thing?!?!?!

I am... I'm only missing 3 mice, but A) I enjoy the area a lot, B) I'm procrastinating on going to the Derr Dunes, C) I had a few mice in the area that upon my time of entry I was getting close to gaining the silver crown, D) The three mice I needed were at the top of the Guantlet, I figured I'd save up now and wait 'til I got the Box trap, before tackling Tier 8

Oh it was worse... I was using White Cheddar at one point For some reason (I don't know if it's my luck or what) the bigger traps actually perform worse for me on Tier 1. Granted it's been a while since I last checked, but I was getting tired of stale cheese. Attraction= very good thing. Actually it performs fairly decently here, for a long term run... This is actually a bad run for me, in the last 24 hunts, I caught 16 mice, had 3 stales, 2 more unattracted, one miss, and 2 drops. Usually I average with slightly better drop rates, and more attractions. The bigger traps even on there good days, don't perform much better in terms of Potions dropped vs cheese spent.
As for why I'm spending so much time on Tier II, I've been so busy with hw, I haven't had much time for MH. I have two papers due this week, one final this week, and 5 more next week.

Um. . . . . . . DEFINITELY
I know that luck doesn't affect gauntlet drops that much, but I would think that a trap setup with more than 2 lucks would still serve you better. Plus, a bit more power would help you to catch mice that you might (or might not) be missing. You can keep using your Wooden Base with Target, as it has a great attraction rating to it (You were around for the birthday event, yes? Did you get the cheesecake base? It's even better!). But I would definitely switch to a higher power / higher luck trap.

That's not too terrible, the bottom floor of the gauntlet is a good place to use it up if you've got it, but I certainly wouldn't go crafting more of it (although. . . it is fairly cheap to make. . . )

Negative, no cheesecake base...
I might play around a bit... I can already tell you ACRONYM, Soul Catcher, Ancient Spear Gun, and Sinister Portal are out, as in they won't catch anything.
Last time I tested these the only one that came close was the Swiss Army, but it had a relatively small attraction bonus, which was doing damage.
But I like experimenting... How many trials (aka hunts) you think would be could to test with each trap? 10? 20? 25?

I would say that 20 is a good baseline. What physical and tactical traps do you actually have, Wolfie?
I'm running out of things to do right now. I'm out of RB but I don't wanna craft any more because that would cost money. I'm almost out of limelight too. After I run out of limelight, I'm going to head over to Whisker Woods and see if I can catch my Cherry Mouse (I've yet to nab him)

And I am now a Duchess!
I hover at 0-0-0-20-13-10 in wave 3. I am staying put until the event starts. I need to start thinking about rebuilding the trapsmith in the Market and work on the papyrus base.
Bingo! That's something I could have been doing, Kat! I've yet to go into Muridae Market. *head-desk*
Oh well, I've already crafted this cherry cheese. Might as well use it up. I've got ten pieces. Do you guys think that'll be enough to attract and catch a Cherry Mouse?

Some of the mice in the market are pretty cool. It's an interesting section.

I've had really random luck with this mouse. The first time I was in there, I kept catching them. The second time I was in there, I couldn't catch a single one. I should hope 10 cheese would be enough. The nice thing is that your attraction of Cyclops mice is increased as well so you're likely to get more potions too.

Mega-congrats!!!

Be warned that while it's a really cool area, your catch rate won't be super high. Maybe one in every three mice or so? But it's definitely well worth toughing it out to get those buildings rebuilt. You get so much goodness out of them.
Just saw this on the Winter Hunt Facebook page:
Digby Scientists are forecasting snow within the next 24 hours! With snow on the way, the start of the Great Winter Hunt cannot be far!
Yay! Although I do have to wonder, does that mean the hunt is starting within 24 hours or the hunt may or may not start within 24 hours but we're getting really close?
It's pretty much a toss up. It could be 24 hours or it could be after the snow begins.
ooo, 24 hrs (I pick bad times for experiments)
@Digs I have the following:
Rhinobot
HVMT
Ambush
Swiss Army
Mouse Trebuchet
Mouse Rocketine
Mouse Mary O'Nette
Tacky Glue
500 lb spiked crusher
High Tension Spring

I spent the night in the Warpath with my OWN. I must say I was impressed with how well it did against the Mage mice in there. I've got them down to 7. There were a few breaks in my streaks, so I'm currently at 39-39-40-44-7. Not too shabby.
The best part is that I didn't have to buy any gouda to do this (I was out). I had thirty pieces that I'd accumulated from my loyalty chests! I've got three pieces left, so hopefully the event starts before too awful long.

Warning: Heavy snowfall imminent!
The game will soon be unavailable while the King prepares the Kingdom for winter's arrival.
Staying put in the warpath until I catch the next Monger. I've got two more wardens and one Monger to go!
