i am starting to feel ur pain for the liches jewel:(, those things are just...plain hard to get
Ugh, don't I know it! I'm sorry that you're having a hard time getting it. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did.
I'm now at 3.7 million. I might just go ahead and craft the OWN after a weekend spend in the catacombs farming gold. I'll be close enough to 4,000,000 that even if I dip below my desired 2,000,000 gold mark, the profit made in the Christmas event should bring me back up.
EDIT: Eh, what the heck. I just crafted it

Oooh, good luck wil! And congrats on all the other loot drops.
DiGs, congrats on your Oasis!! Hopefully it will come in handy during the Winter event
FBF is just starting. Jacob is drawing a Great Winter Hunt mouse for anyone who would like to watch/participate.
A news post just went up on MH too....

I dunno, you seem awfully lucky to me. HUGE congrats on finally catching your Balack!!! I used to think the Silth was the hardest mouse in the game to catch (not counting the super rare mice), but now I definitely think it's Balack.
I just used Gouda to catch Zurreal. With the correct trap and charm, he seems to be really easy.
So did anybody see the drawings Jacob did yesterday? I was there for the DestrucTOY Mouse, which is REALLY funky but funny at the same time, but then I left and he did a Snowflake Mouse that was just GORGEOUS. Can't wait to catch them in the game. Crossing my fingers that the event starts today.
Hopefully it will come in handy during the Winter event
I want to use my Christmas Cracker Trap if I can (for nostalgic purposes as it's become rather outdated otherwise), but if there are hydro mice to nab. . . their days will be numbered.
Wil, I used gouda to catch Zurreal as well. He's really not that difficult.
If the event doesn't start tomorrow. . . I'm sure there is some sort of legal action that we can take. "Occupy Furoma" or something

I suspect it'll be Tuesday or Wednesday when it starts. The CCT is still a good, solid physical trap.
I used Gouda as well for Zurreal.

I bet it'll be tomorrow but who knows? Jacob did confirm during FBF that due to their hardcore programming of tournaments, time got away and the Christmas event snuck up on them, so they were behind.

Ooh! Can we make it occupy the Guantlet? Then I don't have to move
On a serious note I really hope it starts tomorrow. And I hope it runs through the first few weeks Jan.
I know the last one ended sometime in Jan (either that or they got my join date wrong, I joined while the event was still up, on Jan 3 (which happens to be my half-birthday ) (I only know this after visiting my profile page countless times - The join date, not the half-birthday part.)
More importantly I really hope the Candy Cane Base is on the market... It sounds like my kind of base

Im just hoping GWH starts very soon since im awfully bored at what to do right now. All im doing is redoing my SG assignments and going after the technic king again, itll be like my 5th assignment...Anyhow, im back in furoma for no apparent reason just waiting for the GWH to start my points is almost at 58mil which is good, but on the other hand, i cannot afford to spend 2 mil on traps if the GWH and hopefully Ronza will be up soon
I bagged a Silth and a Cherry mouse this morning, so my excursion into the Whisker Woods is over. I'm back sitting in the Meadow using up Mozzarella and waiting for the Hunt. I also went ahead and got the VMT I'll need to craft my Cackle and smashed a few old traps that are only upgrade fodder at this point. Once the Winter Hunt is over, I'll probably finish up my trap shopping and such and head to the Seasonal Garden. The only other preparation I can make at this point (without breaking the bank or wasting gold) is to finish up my Tribal Isles farming (I need some Rhino Horns and the blueprints for the Rhinobot).

I have a feeling that the devs are scrambling to chuck together this Christmas Event ASAP. My gut feeling wants to tell me that this will lead to a lower quality event. . . but I hope I'm wrong.
Then again, they've released an official "Great Winter Hunt 2011" FB page. Goodness knows what that means. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the event didn't go live until tomorrow. At this point, I'm quite disappointed with the devs; they're usually on top of things like this.

Found on the new Great Winter Hunt FB page...
There was a leek GWH will start tmw 5 - 7 pm GMT
I love leeks, so great in soup.
As far as I'm concerned, no promise was ever made the Christmas event would last the whole month every year, nor do they require payment to play this game. The devs make their LIVING off of the donations players send in and survey that are filled out. They work hard to make the game as fun as possible for everyone. Heaven forbid people get bent out of shape because the devs start the event "late" on Dec 6 instead of Nov 29... all because they wanted to take the time to get it right... Besides, we're always sick to death of the event by the time it ends anyways.
For the record, I never said I was "Bent Out Of Shape." I said that I was disappointed with the devs. They admittedly said (according to FBF) that Christmas sneaked up on them while they were working on tournies. I understand that it's a free game, and that they don't even owe us a Christmas event, but a tiny little note last week (letting us know when it was going to start) would have gone a long way.
That being said, I'm almost back above 2,000,000! Yay!!!

On the bright side, the later it starts, the later it ends... Frankly I think it would be awesome to see it last through New Year's.
Secondly at least we know it's coming, and not a repeat of St Patty's day... (I still need that mouse, btw)
(*thinks "disappointed in" is a strong term *)

They purposely do not do that because they don't know how long it would take for them to finish designing/programming/testing the event. I think people would be far more disappointed if they said 'yeah, it'll be out on the 5th of December' followed by 'oh sorry, we didn't finish it yet'. It's a decision I fully, completely, emphatically agree with.

Not to say that they have to do it the same way they've always done it, but the past two Winter events have gone through New Years cause the New Years Mouse makes an appearance, and I'm sure this one will as well.

Ok, ok, I admit, I WAS disappointed by that.
