@wolf, I just now noticed how many points you have going into the Tribal Islands. That's quite impressive. Most people have around 7mil and have to farm points for forever to get each trap upgrade. Are you aiming for the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap next?

Yep points was never a problem for me (gold however has been a huge problem)... I think that I was only short once for a trap I wanted to get way back in the early levels, but it wasn't by much. As I said I wouldn't mind leveling up less fast than I do now. And yep The Horrific Venus Mouse Trap and one of the bases you and Digs mentioned... Not sure which one yet.

Also I bought my Hydro Trap (Net Cannon). But I'm currently in the Nerg Plains with my Ambush, Aqua, and Gouda cheese. So far I caught the Narrator, Caretaker, Finder, Beast Tamer, Alnilam, and Conjeror mice. (EDIT!)... and the Conqueror mouse.

Nicely done wolf! :D Just the Pathfinder to go (for now). :)

...and one of the bases you and Digs mentioned... Not sure which one yet.

Probably the Tribal/Tiki Base first. The Molten Shrapnel Base requires parts from Dracona. You're a little ways away from being able to craft that one.

Well, a teeny tiny bit of news no one is going to care about except me... ;)) I've been kicked out of Longtail again, which means they're probably testing something really cool and awesome. Has Zugzwang's Library made it to closed beta perhaps? I think that's the next thing they're working on. If so we might see it in the next couple weeks. *waits impatiently for the next FBF*

Meanwhile, I finally got my last Papyrus and have returned to the Warpath. 35-29-35 on Wave 1. ;))

I'm not doing so great in my Tower run. I cleared the pawns just fine! I caught all 8 Mystic pawns lickety-splickety, and only caught one Technic Pawn along the way. But after equipping ZFM, I've had wrotten luck. It took me a while to nab my first knight, and it's taken me even longer to get my bishops. I've still got one bishop to go before the rooks are released. Unfortunately, I've been nabbing tons of Technic Pawns now that I'm using ZFM. Only one more until the Technic Knights are released. With my amplifier still over 100%, it's not a washout just yet. . . but we'll have to wait and see how things go tonight.

Wolf, I can't believe how quickly you blazed through Elub on your first try! Very impressive indeed! Ambush should do a pretty decent job against the lower level Nerg tribes! It also might not be a bad idea to start buying plant pots in Cape Clawed. You're going to need about 100 of them by the time all is said and done.

FK, hang in there! You've gotta get that bead to drop soon! Do Warmonger's drop repeats? (E.G. could you get the Sphynx Crystal to drop again and just sell that on the marketplace?) Good luck with your limestone!!!

I may have plenty of time to do several more runs before they release a new Hydro area.

Unless the library is a hydro area ;)). I hope I'm able to finish my successful mystic run, and then go after the chessmaster before this new area is released!

DoT! Congrats on your rhinobot! Will you be upgrading to the Enraged Rhinobot before too long?

Well, FBF this week was a little on the underwhelming side, but I can't blame them because they're in the process of moving their office to downtown Toronto! So everybody is packing up their stuff rather than working on games. ;))

Anyways, the one interesting tidbit that I caught (and there might have been more but I was distracted by misbehaving animals) is that their scoreboard is ready for testing. Not public testing yet, but behind-the-scenes testing, and we should see an update on that fairly soon. :D (Assuming testing goes well. ;)) )

There were also a couple spoiler images but those don't usually do much for me. ;))

In the meantime, just working my way through another Wave 2 in the Fiery Warpath. :) Should finish up shortly (I only have 22 Cavalry mice to go) and then onto Wave 3!

FK, hang in there! You've gotta get that bead to drop soon! Do Warmonger's drop repeats?

Yes they do. But don't feel too sorry for me. ;)) I've had 4 trap pieces drops total so far out of 12 runs. Kat's only had one out of eight runs.

And unlike Kat, the only piece left that I need is currently going for 899,000g on the Marketplace. :P The pieces Kat needs are going for 11M (x 2) and 6M. So I'm pretty well off. Can't legitimately complain.

But any further Sandblasted Metal or Sphynx Crystals I get next are going to her soooo... hopefully between the two of us she can get another trap soon. :)

I'm not doing so great in my Tower run.

I noticed that you've tied up now. Arrrgg... that's the super frustrating. Made even more so by the fact that you never know if you should just pull out now to save money on cheese and charms, or do you plug ahead in the hopes of getting lucky? Well good luck with whatever you decide to do!

How does one go about getting the Shelder anyway? MHWiki says they're pretty rare.

Edit I just got the Elder Mouse in Caped Clawed I now have everything I need for the Ancient Spear Gun and for the second time in the game I'm waiting on points... I also still need the gold for the Thorned/Horrific Venus Mouse Trap. I'm considering making another run in the Forbidden Grove for gold and runes.

Lots of patience. :) I know a couple people on NarniaWeb who actually got the Shelder before one of the other rare mice (Mermouse and Swabbie) but it took me a good 500-600 pieces of cheese I think before I finally caught him. I personally waited to finish the Huntington mice until after I got my Ancient Spear Gun. :)

Congrats on all of your Elub and Nerg catches. :) If it's points you need, Elub is the place to get them! But farming runes in the Forbidden Grove is a good idea as well. :) And while you won't get many points doing this, you may also wish to suffer through the Derr Dunes long enough to get the Rhino Horn off of the Aged Mouse in Cape Clawed. :) Just thought I'd throw that out there.

In the meantime, I'm making good progress on Wave 3 after a rocky start. :) I should finish up late tonight or tomorrow.

I'm doing absolutely horrifically as my amplifier has now dipped below 25%. I have yet to catch a queen from the mystic team, and am still missing a technic rook from the other side. It's maddening as I'm getting robbed more and more frequently. How often do tower runs actually end in success?

At any rate, I've decided that if I haven't finished up by this evening, I'm pulling outta there. My trap's power is right around 1000 as of right now; I don't stand much chance of catching a queen once it dips a bit lower.

Kat might be a better person to answer this than me. When I first arrived in the tower, I was already able to get my amplifier up to 160%.

I would say as I was figuring out how to tweak my runs, it was maybe 1 success out of every 3 runs. But then once I got my strategy down, probably 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4?

OK this is probably going to sound counter productive (and it probably is). But being out of RB I decided to hit the Windmill while the Forbidden Grove was closed tonight instead of the Catacombs or the Acylote Realm. (Or Derr Dunes- when I was in the area I made a test run... and decided to wait until I finished most of my business in the Nerg Plains and Elub Shore due to 5 red posts in a row.) But I've been itching forever to get at those SB+ mice.

And since my last post I caught the Elder, Protector, and Tiny mice :D

Now if I can just get the farmhand and be out of here before bedtime...

Well, I'm one for two right now (I'm not counting that first failed run any more). So I guess that's not too bad. This run was an utter failure; it just took me too long to nab my mystic rooks.

It's spring in the garden (my favourite season), so hopefully I'll get my amplifier pretty full pretty quickly.

No, I don't think that's that counterproductive at all. Getting all those puny little SB mice out of the way is one less thing on the back of your mind. ;)) Congrats on the Tiny mouse! (As well as the Elder and Protector, of course.) Have you captured your Farmhand Mouse yet?

This run was an utter failure; it just took me too long to nab my mystic rooks.

I've had one run where I didn't make it past the bishops. Couldn't get anything but stupid pawns and knights. I've also had a run where I got the queen, but then caught pawns until my amplifier got too low to catch the king. ~x( Z's Tower can definitely be the most maddening area in the game. Which is why I like it, it's properly challenging. ;)) :P

I caught Warmonger #13 last night on my very last piece of Gouda cheese. :)) (Didn't want to have to go anywhere to buy more or use SB. :P It was kinda funny.) No trap pieces dropped. I headed back over to the Muridae Market to get my usual 5 papyrus and got those faster than I ever have (bringing me to a total of 22/98). I'm now back in the Fiery Warpath once again! Bring it on puny mice!!!

I'm finally back to playing. Even though I can acess MH on my iTouch, I didn't. For part of the time I was gone, I didn't know that there was free wifi and for the rest of the time, I just didn't feel like taking the time to get more cheese and travel and everything.

But now I'm back! I headed to the Laboratory this morning to get gold and Radioactive Blue Cheese potions. I made a cheese run and bought 300 Brie not realizing that I still had 412. :p I had been hunting with something else (don't even remember what) and ran out while I was gone so I assumed I had none. So now I have 712 Brie cheese. At least I'm good for awhile. I'm hunting with the Sinister Portal and the Dehydration Base. However, I checked Furoma and according to them, I'll have higher success with the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap (which I didn't have last time I hunted here) so I just switched over to that one.

Can I just continue to utter the praise of Springtime in the garden?! In the short time I've been there, I already have my amplifier filled up to 70%. Any ways, I'm gonna have to make a cheese purchase soon. I'm down to 30 pieces of gouda. As I've got around 200K, I'm not worried ;)) (Although, before I do another tower run, I'm heading back to the Mountain to buy BEAUCOUP attraction charms).

Welcome back n_a_h!! I hope you had a nice trip. :) This is completely off-topic, but I'm going to ask real fast anyways, did you post about your trip somewhere on here? I'd be curious to hear about it. :)

Anyways, back on topic.

I'm hunting with the Sinister Portal and the Dehydration Base. However, I checked Furoma and according to them, I'll have higher success with the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap (which I didn't have last time I hunted here) so I just switched over to that one.

What physical trap do you have? I ask because I've completley forgotten ;)) but usually people at your level have at least the Swiss Army Mouse Trap. According to Furoma, the MVMT will still catch mice better (by about 1%), but the SAMT has slightly higher luck, and therefore a higher chance at getting potions. So I guess it depends on what you're going for. If you just want gold and cheese, MVMT is the way to go, but if you're going for potions, you may want to consider SAMT. Just a suggestion. :)

Can I just continue to utter the praise of Springtime in the garden?!

You absolutely can. :D Do you think you'll make it back into the Tower today? Or are you going to farm more gold first? At least you don't have another trap to buy. ;))

I'm in the middle of Wave 2 in the Warpath, but I'm doing really well this round and should hit Wave 3 later today. :)
2-0-0-32-6
I'm also at 95% Countess. BRING ON DUCHESS!!! ;)) :D Should see it sometime early next week. :D
