Now at the point I am mostly ignore Moose Hunt except for the daily check in.
Such is life in the Gauntlet. It makes you want to drain you mousehunting soul and never play again. . . I like a challenge as much as the next person, but I hated the gauntlet. In my opinion, it was too difficult

At this point in the game, should I even worry about the DDA?
Unless they release another Hydro trap that's on par with the DDA, EVENTUALLY you'll want to craft it. But like DiGs said, there's really no hurry. The earliest you'd use it is on the SS Huntington. (You could probably go there now if you wanted to. ) But with the Christmas event right around the corner, saving your gold is the thing.
So, any how, I am at mouseoleum and I have 80 radioactive blue cheeses, but no shadow trap and no where near enough gold to even consider buying one.
Slightly different advice from what DiGs told you, I agree with getting out of there, you'll not catch many mice without a shadow trap. But I say go to the Laboratory to farm more RB potions cause you don't have that much cheese. How much gold do you have?

Difficult? It's not difficult. The only thing that it requires is patience (and the correct traps). And because it requires patience, it gets boring really fast. Once bored, the tendency is to try to hurry it up and move up a Tier far sooner than you should, then you run out of potions/cheese and have to start over. You are your own worst enemy in the Gauntlet.
And personally, I think another mean, nasty thing about the place is that you can go in there and start catching mice at Initiate level. Very deceiving. If you're going to do the full Gauntlet in the shortest amount of time, you shouldn't bother moving past Tier 1 until you have the best traps in the game. (Imho )
I think if I had to do the Gauntlet again, I'd have to do it in short bursts at a time. Go in, get 10 potions, leave and do something else, and then rinse and repeat. I'm an extremely impatient person.
Does that include me? *snivel. . . hic. . . wimper*
Yes it does, but you're pretty far down the list of recipients.
Progress report on my end here.... 7 more Cavalry mice to go until I hit Wave 3. I'm almost out of Wealth Charms so I'll be doing a few Library assignments after I finish up this Warpath run.
Slightly different advice from what DiGs told you, I agree with getting out of there, you'll not catch many mice without a shadow trap.
*Still stands by his former advice despite what the master guru says*
The only thing that it requires is patience
Hence the difficulty . I love areas where I can power through them in a day or two. . . give me one where I literally have to spend four to five months working. . . .and I will get very annoyed.
Yes it does, but you're pretty far down the list of recipients.
I thought as much. Just the same, the idea of my name being on a list is ever so exciting.

I'm with FK on the Lab, you're going to want all the RB cheese you can get. (Also I almost think I did better there but I can't quite remember.) What tactical and physical traps do you have?
Regardless don't enter the Mouseleum or the Catacombs without a shadow trap at least.

Leveling up is a slow process. The moose are not worth many points. The moose don't drop a lot of gold. And the moose drop potions about 22 times for every 100 moose caught. Been on Tier I collecting potions for over a month. BORING Then again, depends what goals a hunter may have. Except for the Puppet Master, I have collected over 100 of each Tier I Moose. Now have almost 200 Tier II potions. The goal is to have over 1,000 Tier II cheese before collecting Tier II moose.

ceppault, what's your trap set up. Hint Tier One of the Guantlet is the only place I've been in so far that I'd focus more on attraction than power.
Also you could do what I'm doing now and bounce back and forth between Tiers. Currently I'm focusing more on the half runs. I enter each Tier with 50-100 pieces of cheese, stop at Tier 4 or 5 then go Back to Tier 1. If I don't have enough potions for 4 or 5 I might even bounce back to 1 after 2 or 3. It's still slow, but it changes the environment every now and then, and it makes everything seem less daunting.

That's what I did too, Wolf. I found the area MUCH less tedious and tiresome.
Are you using your luckiest trap setup? If not, switch over to that (even if it's a different power type other than physical). Those kind of drop rates are going to kill you later on! So you might look into some higher luck traps (or just wait on entering Tier Two until the uber lucky christmas/ronza traps are released.)

Just caught an Abominable Snow Mouse in the Mountain. Is this unusual? Does it mean snow is in the air?
"To the Great Western Wood, I give you...."
omp, seasonal garden Fall hates me...im missing everything, is it better to use prospector charm or luck charm?
im stomped here, and i dont know where i should duck at, since i have decided to save my rumble and omp until i get Kitty which would make it much more interesting
anyhow, should i mention i got SBM from my friend who doesnt play? i am wondering if i should sell it hoping ronza will make price low enough to get 2 with my money and the money gotten from selling, or should i play safe and keep it ?
Nope, not unusual, just rare. That is the only place where they live outside of the Christmas Event (I think...). But their rarity is such that one only has about a 1% chance of attracting him. Congratulations on a rarity! (Did he drop a divine orb as I've heard that they do?)
I finally crossed the 3,000,000 mark! YAY! It took me longer than I thought because I had to make a cheese run. I got tired of doing it in 200 piece increments, and so this time I purchased 300 pieces.

I think cep is sticking at Tier 1 for a couple reasons. But because he's not super far along in the game, I personally think he'd take a significant penalty for continuing on right now without better traps.

I know that I am the champion of luck traps, and I've preached their awesomeness for a long time. But I've learned since then that the devs tweaked the Gauntlet so luck just doesn't give you much (if any) bonus in potion drop rate at all (unlike the tribal isles where the difference between the ASG and the Kraken Chaos meant double the seashells). The two stats to aim for when in the Gauntlet is attraction, and freshness (though the latter doesn't matter as much on Tier 1 ).

I took a peek at your profile and that's actually your 23rd Abominable Snow Mouse you've caught in the Mountain.

What trap/base are you using?

Cool on getting a Sandblasted Metal.
But are you saying that Ronza's gonna make the price drop based on the assumption she's going to bring a physical trap better than the Monstrobot? Cause that's the only reason I can think of that the prices on SBM would go down. Otherwise they'll likely go up or stay the same, not down.
Personally, I'd play it safe and hang onto it cause I know how rare those drops are. But that's just me.
I finally crossed the 3,000,000 mark!
Woot woot! So are you going to craft the Oasis now? Or were you going to wait til 4mil to do that?
I think cep is sticking at Tier 1 for a couple reasons.
One of which shall remain unstated and cannot likely be guessed.
I have NOT figured any of this out for myself; no need to reinvent the moose trap
Using best combinations that I have for Luck and Attraction. Power is not that important on the lower levels. NVMRC and Dehydration Base. The catch rate is consistent with this chart. Best guess I have equipment required through Tier III and IV. That should keep me tied up for ... oh ... next six months or so at the very least. Meets the requirement of the unstated reason.
Likely migrate to the Catacombs after Tier II and work it for a month or two. Christmas Event should be lurking in there somewhere.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
I am really not liking the Laboratory. Getting RB potions is such a slow and painful process. I've gone on 24 hunts/horn blows since 11 this morning and have gotten a grand total of 0 potions. And 8 of those, one third, were failure to attract, bait going stale, or the mouse stealing it. And I'm using my HVM + Aqua base. I would think I'd be doing a little better than this!
I really want to go somewhere else but, I don't know yet. I'll have to think about it.
Ok, I just had another hourly trap check and got two potions but still, 24 before that with nothing!
Likely migrate to the Catacombs after Tier II and work it for a month or two.
Yay! Catacombs.
've gone on 24 hunts/horn blows since 11 this morning and have gotten a grand total of 0 potions. ... And I'm using my HVM + Aqua base.
I would switch to the ACRONYM trap if I were you. It has a couple more luck and it's a little more appropriate trap for the area.
I've been in the Catacombs for about two weeks and made almost 1 million gold. I love this place.
