Clearly the Aqua Base is working for ya! So does that mean you're in the Tribal Islands now?
Actually I'm in the catacombs again... I made a run to get more brie (if you buy enough (I thing its like 10+) pieces you'll actually save some more gold if you use Larry's travels and buy it in Gnawnia, but I also wanted to do some more research before heading over there since I know some of the areas are pretty tough.
Mostly: what trap setups I should use in each location?
Which mice are location specific?
Are there any map pieces I need there?
Also I could still use a hydro trap, I did make a profit though.
And yes the Aqua base is working rather well in fact I was always partial to high luck setups over high power... And I think my catch rate in the Catacombs actually went up a bit since using it. (Unless I'm just having a really lucky run.)
Edit! Also how much ancient cheese will I need in the Forbidden grove?

First of all, Cape Clawed exists for two reasons. To buy stuff. To catch the wise old mice from each tribe (three total). Don't bother to hunt there otherwise.
Nerg Plains: Tactical Trap (You're aiming for the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap.)
Elub Shore: Hydro Trap (Get either the Harpoon Gun + Bamboozler Base OR Net Cannon + Aqua Base, you're aiming for the Ancient Spear Gun)
Derr Dunes: Physical Trap (You're aiming for the Rhinobot followed closely by the Enraged Rhinobot)
Upon completing these three areas....
Jungle of Dread: Shadow Trap (Minimum Gorgon Trap, but if you have to farm Fire Salt eventually, you'll want the Clockapult of Time)
I would recommend starting off in the Nerg Plains. It's the easiest of the three areas, and it has a nice combination of points and gold. Plus it has the first trap that you'll be able to upgrade. And you will be doing a lot of upgrades... the order goes something like this....
8 mil points - Horrific Venus Mouse Trap
12 mil points - Ancient Spear Gun
14 mil points - Tribal Base -> Upgrade to Tiki Base
16 mil points - Rhinobot
17 mil points - Enraged Rhinobot
17 mil points - Ancient Box Trap
17 mil points - Ice Maiden
18 mil points - Molten Shrapnel Base
20 mil points - Clockapult of Time
So that oughta keep you busy for a little while.
Edit! Also how much ancient cheese will I need in the Forbidden grove?
Uhhhhh.... you're going to be aiming for 160 runes. So however much cheese you need to get that many runes.
Well I have 20 runes so far from my last trip there, 2 Runic Potions (from I believe the Easter event, but I could be wrong), 423 Stale cheese, and 90 Ancient Potions... don't ask me how I ended up with 90 ancient potions.
Of course I'd rather use stale cheese since using the potions are expensive and since they have a relatively low conversion rate. I don't suppose any of you know if I could make a profit with the potions would you? Though I'll likely be hitting the tribal isles soon, but I'll be back in the area eventually.
Thanks FK for the advice
Edit actually that's 91 Ancient potions...
Edit 2! Wow I really am liking this Aqua Base so far. I already made back what I spent on it and my catch rate in the Catacombs has vastly improved. (Oh and for the record the Ancient Potion count is up to 92)

I have 689 Ancient Potions. That should give you a fairly good idea on how often I use them. No seriously, I don't think you'll lose any money if you were to use your potions, but you wouldn't make any either. Making Ancient from Stale Cheese is the way to go.
Well, I cleaned up the Warriors on Wave 3 this morning. Onto the Archers.

I made it to Wave 4 this morning. The Flambane charm helped me catch 3 wardens in a row. I only bought 3 charms because I didn't want to spend the flameshards for more since I wanted a monger charm too.
Thanks for that heads up on the oasis trap. I'll give it a go next round. For the end of wave 3, I had cavalry mice and artillery mice left. I switched to the super power charm for over night and had a better catch rate than I normally do at the end of wave 3. I had under 10 of each mice left. I think it was 6 and 4 or something like that. When I switched over, I hadn't had a catch in like 2 hours. So it was more consistent. I'm going to try it again at the end of wave 3 and see if it happens again.
I have 624 ancient potions. I think the only time I've ever used it is when I was completely out of stale cheese and I was in pursuit of the acolyte. It's too expensive per piece to use the potions.
I may go back to the Market after I get through Wave 1 again. Just for a break.
Edit: *insert whine* End of wave 4 and NO loot drop again! This makes the start of my 9th run through and I've only had one loot drop and that was the first one. I've used monger charms for the second time in a row. *sigh* /end whine
Awwe starkat I hope you get your loot drop soon
I decided to craft 99 Ancient cheese and test this setup in the Forbidden Grove since I haven't used either my base or weapon here yet. I know I won't make as much as in the Catacombs, but a lot of the mice are the same so the income should be large enough and I can kill to birds with one stone by trying to get some runes as well. After I get the Realm Ripper I'll either hit the Catacombs or Nerg Plains... I haven't decided which yet.

Wow, it's been a while since I've been in here:
What are you working on getting money for? Just cheese and charms?
I'm saving up money for three things:
1. More Gouda Cheese
2. Charms (Power and Attraction)
3. Mystic Pawn Pincher
Wolf You might look into crafting the Molten Shrapnel Base (or at least working towards it). It is a high power, high luck, base, so it should do you well for a while. Like FK said, the Tribal/Tiki base is also pretty good.
I got uber busy yesterday, and missed trap checks for a few hours. Along those lines, my amplifier only sits around 135 right now. Overnight, I'll probably fill it (if all goes well), and then it's back to the catacombs for some gold farming.

for Kat.
@wolf, so how did the Forbidden Grove go?
@DiGs, oh yeah! I forgot you didn't have the Mystic Pawn Pincher yet. I see you're back in the Catacombs so I assume you made it to 150% amplifier. How's the gold farming going? Are you gonna do another tower run soon?
Well, I finished up another Warpath run last night. No loot drop again. Gonna head the Market here in a minute to restock on Cheese, Charms, and 5 more Papyrus.
ETA: Well, after a 30-40 min update this morning, it looks like they're multi-language feature is up and running. I do have to laugh because the time stamps are now in military time. I wonder if they'll change that back.
Next update.... Zugzwang's Library!
Well I broke 500,000 g last night and I'm up to 38 runes.

Yes I did! The gold farming is going fairly well. I'm going to head back for another Tower Run once I hit 800K in gold.
Wolf, Conga rats on the runes and gold!

Not much to report after 36 hours of hunting.
~I'm up to 12 Papyrus out of 98.
~I just purchased the Oasis trap blueprints so the only thing left that I need is the bead.
~I'm in wave 2, doing just dandy. 32-0-34-39-14
I do have to ask though, will anybody be watching FBF/Jacob's live drawing in two days? I don't think I'm going to be able to this week (though maybe I'll make it on) and I'm really curious as to when Zugzwang's Library is coming out, or if there's any new information on it. I can always read the review on the MH forum if nobody here sees it.
If I'm able to I will, but I don't know if I'll be able to.
I really hope they announce what level the Library is for soon (or did I miss that) Hopefully it will be like Lord/Lady I might manage it then... Though I won't complain if it is Hero
Anyway a bit of an update

The most runes I've gotten at one time is 9. Then again, I was using the Runic Base. Scavenger mice typically drop the most, Wolfie
I won't be able to watch feedback Friday. . . gotta love dial-up. I'm also anxious about the release of Zugzwang's library. Something tells me that it'll be a Lord and up area, due to the fact that that's the requirement for the tower and garden. Either way, unless the are is super cool, I'll probably continue to focus on conquering the tower for now .
I'm almost up to 600K in gold. Being insanely busy with three internships, a vet school application, and a house to run has kept me away from MH, but those hourly trap checks are enough to keep me heading ever upward
Member of Ye Olde NarniaWeb
Hah now that you mention that Digs I just got a record of 6 runes... and that record was broken in the next horn call when I got 7. Both off of Scavenger Mice.
I'm up to 69 runes now and over 800,000 g

So apparently after Jacob finishes drawing the mouse today (I'm not watching it, got too much going on) it will IMMEDIATELY be put into the game as a weekend event. I think it's going to be another zombie invasion, but this guy is going to be a boss mouse of some type. Looking forward to it!
In the meantime, I just wrapped up wave 2 and started wave 3 with a bang! Immediately got a streak of six without missing a single mouse and grabbed a commander right off the bat. Hopefully I can keep this up! lol
