Wil--huh? No, I understood most of what you said, I think...
I am in the Gauntlet Tower right now since I can go almost to the top. Last night, I actually got several level 3 potions dropped. Hopefully the trend will continue and I can get level 4 potions. I almost got all the level 4 mice, then ran out of cheese. So, I had to go back down. Evidently, not uncommon. Ironically, Paul and I are actually in the same area for once!
Love God, love people
i get what u mean, i remember KG being such a pain, it is one of my most hated areas, but u know, a friend of mine managed to get to Eclipse without camping for additional potions, like he just spiraled up to 8th tier...im so envious
EDIT: i really hope my winter mage would come soon, i dont want to end up like last assignment, which i didnt get my Summer mage when summer ended...but its ok, i still got 3 days to get my winter mage, but its much harder since i gotta use ASG to catch it, and ASG isnt all that strong
I'm still in the Forbidden Grove and Acolyte Realm. I was gone over the weekend so my hourly trap checks stopped Saturday afternoon. Anyway, I have 390k gold and I'm going to stick around a here until I get enough gold for the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap.
As for guides, I don't use them. I use the Wiki quite a bit but the Wiki, in my opinion, doesn't count. It gives you helpful information but it doesn't tell you what to do and when to do it.
I ask questions on here but again, those are usually just informational questions. The actual planning where to go and when to do certain stuff, I usually do myself. I do take advice but I don't always follow it.
Here's a question for FK and Kat:
Despite the fact that I don't have any of the uber awesome traps yet, should I stick with the Enraged Rhinobot to try and catch my Inferno Mage Mice and Sand Cavalary Mice despite the fact that they are weake to hydro and tactical traps respepctively?
Did better in Wave 2 over the weekend. Hopefully I'll make it into wave three sometime tomorrow.

in SG still...cause i just got the Technic King asignment that requires me 2 catch another 40 mouse in SG, maybe i should ditch and go on a run before my technic run? any advices, cause my AMP is pretty much filled already
That's not a bad idea, Wil. In spring, 40 mice can fill an amplifier (especially if you use Amplifier charms). I say go for it

Question am I going to need the Onyx Mallet eventually? If so, when?
You're a trap collector aren't you? Of course you should get it.
But like DiGs said, the only time where you'd need it is in the Crystal Library for a particular assignment that requires it.
Second, I saw the points required for the traps in the Tribal Isles and went screaming like a little girl the other way!
That was too funny. As I'm sure others have already said, even though the point requirements for the traps there are really high, the areas are designed specifically to help you get all those points. In fact, you'll have to do minimum one run through each area before you can get the traps.
Anyway, I have 390k gold and I'm going to stick around a here until I get enough gold for the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap.
Cool! How much more do you have to go?

*tries to remember what she used* I think Rewers did pretty good at catching the Cavalry Mice and I did use that some of the time. But I don't think the Heat Bath did any better with the Mage Mice so I didn't bother switching out my Chrome Drillbot for those.
So dev Franco was at FBF two weeks ago and was 50 pieces of cheese away from finishing Tier 2. Well he's finally on Tier 3 now and as of this morning, he has well over 11,600 pieces of Tier 3 cheese. I think when he started two weeks ago he was closer to 11,750. He expects to be on Tier 3 for another six months or so.
I'm one Warmonger away from wrapping up my 21st Warpath Run. I'll let you all know if he drops anything interesting.
My checklist for the next few days....
~Get my five Papyrus
~Get at least 2 Tier 2 potions
~Do 2-3 Library Assignments for more Wealth Charms
One final note. As we are now entering the Holiday Season chock full of Holiday Events (no DiGs, I have no idea when the Halloween event starts, probably next week), I HIGHLY recommend that everybody start hoarding their gold so you have more than enough to purchase Limited Edition traps/bases/other.
Upcoming Mousehunt events?
~Halloween Event - Typically runs the week before and week after Halloween and is guaranteed to have at least one trap this year as well as numerous trap skins.
~Christmas Event - Typically runs the full month of December and always has the Candy Cane Base, the Gingerbread trap and base, and often another nice trap reward as well.
~New Years Event - Typically ties in at the end of the Christmas event and lasts for a couple days.
~Valentine's/Chinese New Year Event - Usually starts sometime during the week before Valentine's day, runs for one to two weeks, though I don't remember any traps or bases being available for this event.
~Mousehunt's Birthday Event - Starts in early March, I can't remember how long it runs but it's usually short. It also typically includes Ronza (though that's not a guarantee!) and she ALWAYS has a load of traps and bases to sell. (This is where you need your money!!) ETA: Kat and DiGs have reminded me that the birthday event always has a base and sometimes has a special trap. Though the bases are a free drop, I can't remember about the trap.
~St. Patricks Day Event - Usually occurs the day of, though it was skipped altogether last year, this day one has the highest chance of attracting the hardest mouse in the game to catch, the Leprechaun Mouse.
~Spring Egg Hunt - Occurs in April around Easter, lasts for about two weeks, but didn't include any new traps/bases last year.
At this point everyone is sick to death of events but then we have the whole summer to catch mice to our heart's content and progress in the game.
Yeah, I really wanna buy the spellbook base right now, but I don't know if I should. Halloween is coming soon, and I know that there are gonna be some traps with that. Christmas is going to be crazy, and Ronza will hopefully come around New Years (at least, I hope she does, because I personally think she should come more than once per year).
Time to start completing a lot of surveys and selling a ton of SB+. Just completed a survey for 16 SB+, 15 of which I'm selling. The price of SB is really high right now (6000+ per piece), so it's possible to get a lot of gold really quickly if you can

Ok thanks Digs and FK. I was probably going to get it anyway cause it looked cool But I just wanted to make sure I don't need it immediately
(Actually I'm more of a base collector than a trap collector just cause traps cost a ton, though I do have an extra High Tension Spring Parts laying around, should I ever want the original and an upgrade )
Why is it that events always come at the worst time for me? I just upgraded a trap, ran out of RB, but I don't really want to go to the lab because I'm working toward my Derr Cheiftain and Enraged Rhinobot. I also still need the tribal base. *sighs* Well it should be fun anyways!

You'll need one of those High Tension Spring Parts in order to make the Ice Maiden. The Enraged Rhinobot is not terribly expensive after you've gotten the rhinobot (just 360K more I think), so that's entirely doable, Wolf. Once you have the ER, the Derr Chieftain will be much easier. I wouldn't fret about the tribal base. It's great in the islands, but outside of that it's not all that great. Blueprints sold from Ronza for 170K, and the blueprints are selling for about 540K right now. You also have to have the Tribal base, which is another 150k-ish. So all in all, I don't think the Tiki Base is worth a nearly 700K investment. It makes much more sense to start saving up for the Molten Shrapnel base, which is a very good base.
Even with these mage charms attached, I'm still not doing very well. I've caught just as many Sand Cavalry mice as I have Inferno Mages. Oh well. . . c'est la vie. I really hope I can finish at least one of these runs before the end of the week. . . Tier 3 looks rather intimidating.

And one final thought. Although hoarding gold is a good idea, holding onto it when it can really help you progress is not. The Halloween event will likely cost less than 300K, and it will be followed by the entire month of November, in which there will not be any events (if history is to repeat itself).

*finds it really confusing when people sub in Tribal for Tiki* So which did you mean when Digs?
*meant Tribal as in Tribal for the record*
Molten Shrapnel Base! I keep forgetting I need that! *should write that down somewhere*
360 K gold is a lot for someone who's global gold follows the sine curve function. Story of my life I get gold, I lose it, I get it, I lose it. right now I'm closer to the bottom than the top, but 300K for Halloween doesn't sound too bad.
Oh well. . . c'est la vie.
*stares blankly at french*

*smacks self* Sorry wolf. I have had zero coffee today. Long story short = Go for Molten Shrapnel, don't worry about Tribal or Tiki
C'est la vie = "That's life."
Doing better in the Warpath. Got a run of six Sand Cavalry Mice just now.

Anyway, I have 390k gold and I'm going to stick around a here until I get enough gold for the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap.
Cool!
How much more do you have to go?
Not much. I need 550k and I currently have 505k. I'm still deciding whether I should go ahead and buy the plans when I have enough gold or if I should wait until after the events have started and I've seen what they have to offer. I'm thinking I'll go ahead and buy it because I doubt I'll spend any money on holiday stuff (except maybe the Candy Cane base because I've heard it's pretty good: hmm, I'll have to research it). I only buy stuff if I need it. So I don't buy skins and I'll only buy a special holiday trap if it's something I'll actually need in the future and it's not virtually a duplicate of something I already have or am planning to get in the future.
Upcoming Mousehunt events?
~Halloween Event
~Christmas Event
~New Years Event
~Valentine's/Chinese New Year Event
~Mousehunt's Birthday Event
~St. Patricks Day Event
~Spring Egg Hunt
I'm really looking forward to the events! I started playing at the tail end of the Spring Egg Hunt last year so I missed all the holiday events.
EDIT:
So I just looked up the Candy Cane base and it looks like something I'll definetly want! It's similar to the Aqua base (which I currently have armed in the FG and AR) but it has a fresh cheese effect and a higher base power. I am definetly catching more mice and getting more gold with the Aqua base but I am losing more cheese because the Aqua base does not have any effect on cheese meaning I have an Insanely Stale cheese effect. When I had the Dehydration base + ACRONYM armed, there was no cheese effect. I would love to have the Candy Cane base with higher power and it brings my stale cheese effect down a notch to Extremely Stale. So that's something I'm sure I'll buy but it's only 90k gold which isn't very much at all.
Another seasonal base you might think about getting, NaH, is the gingerbread base. It's pretty simple to craft (you get the blueprints to drop off of certain mice). It's like a lucky more powerful version of the dehydration base. I actually like it a bit better than the Candy Cane Base.
10 more mice remaining in Wave 2 thanks to catching a Crimson Commander on a Wave of 6!

The Candy Cane Base is definitely on my to get list, since it's apparently like the aqua, but better (the aqua is my current fave- though the monolith looks slightly cooler)
Hmmm, Digs, I may have to get that as well.
