If everything goes the way it's been going, I should hopefully clear the Flame Warriors before noon. I'll probably move onto the Sentinels after that:

FK: im actually in Furoma to finish assignments well im ducking out on fall and winter...kk 2 samurais 2 go and 1 MOJO
OK, enough geeking about my epically awesome and amazing MH notebook.
:)) So much for my checklist scribbled on a piece of scratch paper.
But I did manage to craft the Obelisk of Incineration last night ... Paired with the CCB, I'm still somewhat underwhelmed, but I'm inching towards 1m.
Congrats on the Obelisk of Incineration. Yeah, unfortunately it's only a little better than the Obelisk of Slumber, and until you get the ACRONYM trap, you won't be able to unlock the cash cow that is the Catacombs.
If I got [a sandblasted metal] (and sold it) I would have enough money to craft the OWN, The Sphynx Wrath, The Spellbook Base, and just about anything else that I wanted to. I wonder if that's a terrible idea. . . perhaps they're not even selling
Be aware that if you do that you'll have to get two additional Sandblasted Metal drops and probably in the process of farming for them, you'll get the pieces for the Sphynx and Oasis traps anyways. But that decision is entirely up to you, it's basically whatever traps you think would be the most useful.
-I still need the Sensei and might work towards him while I'm in the area
Do you have your HVMT yet? If you do, the Sensei is quite doable. Unless you're me, then you'll miss him 33 times in a row and then catch 5 in a row.
kk 2 samurais 2 go and 1 MOJO
I sure hope you get them quickly!
My Wave 3 is going just ok. Not getting a lot of streaks and I've only caught the one commander so far. Right now I'm catching exactly every other mouse. Still plunking along though.

FBF today!! I'm praying they spill loads of spoilers and tidbits about Halloween and tournaments!!
So I guess the general consensus is not to sell a sandblasted metal. A better Physical trap would definitely be awesome right now, because I am not liking this Enraged Rhinobot's effectiveness in here.
I also really need that spellbook base, because if I arm my molten shrapnel, I get more luck, less power, and the worst cheese rating in the game, but if I go with my Tiki base I get more power, less luck, and a marginally terrible cheese rating. On the other hand, I could go with my gingerbread base, but that would give me less power, less luck, zero attraction bonus, but at least it would give me a "No Effect" cheese rating. I know the spellbook base isn't going to solve all of my problems (and I actually like the papyrus base better now that I've seen the stats for it), but anything's better than these two bases (for the current situation that is).
At any rate, I'm still struggling to get these wretched Flame Warriors. I can't even build up a decent streak to use a Commander's charm (which would probably fail anyways ). I really want to be done with these guys so that I can focus on the Sentinels over the weekend.

FBF Review...
I came in late cause they said they'd start 30 min late so i went after and came back and they were going. I walked in on Jacob saying he was going to do a special art thing and I think he was designing a Halloween trap? Watch for more info on this....
UPDATE: Jacob will be doing a live drawing tomorrow. It will at least be the basic Halloween trap, and if he has time, he'll do the update as well. I definitely won't be able to make this one so if someone can watch it, keep us posted.
This Halloween event will be similar to last year with a few new twists, traps, and surprises.
Due to lag, FBF was ridiculously short today. This was pretty much the end of what was discussed.
But I did manage to craft the Obelisk of Incineration last night ... Paired with the CCB, I'm still somewhat underwhelmed, but I'm inching towards 1m.

Actually I noticed a rather large difference with the Obselisk of Incineration, granted that was nothing compared to ACRONYM and ACRONYM was nothing compared to ACRONYM + Aqua

wolfy-- on all your catches and completions! Woo hoo!!!
I was trying to catch a Cook mouse (SB only per FK) on the ship with no luck for over 24 hours. So, I decided to see what the Tribal Isles is all about. I'm just in Cape Clawed right now and armed with lots of Gouda, I may head to the nerg plains. (I'm following the guide Paul sent me the link to--yea, it may be cheating, but I wouldn't still be playing without it!)
I love how the places are colors kinda spelled backwards! (nerg=green; derr=red; and elub=blue) That is way cool! Kinda helps remember which trap works where!
I don't think I'll spend a lot of time here as I need to farm points. But I'm just excited that I can get here now!
Love God, love people

There's a guide?! So that's how you're doing this so fast (Though I bet the SB helps too ) Good for you! (So where's this guide?
)
Hah I never noticed that about the names that's cool! (And thanks for the congrats!)

Cause you know, our advice wasn't good enough.
Wolf, they use this one here....
http://guidetomousehunt.wordpress.com/
I've looked through it in the past and I don't actually like it quite as much as the one on furoma.com.
http://furoma.com/analytics/
BUT! That's mostly because I'm a statistics junkie and I like to see catch rate estimates and drop rate estimates and things like that. The one cep and rama use is probably better as a 'how to' guide.
So just out of total curiosity, am I the only person here who hates video game guides? I like figuring strategies and stuff out myself, but I seem to be the only one.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with using a guide if that makes it more fun for people, but I was just wondering if there were any other anti-guide people out there.
Well I don't like the paper guides. I'm more of a in game tutatorials kind of gal.

Ram, if you want to farm points then the Tribal Isles are AWESOME! Derr and Nerg are good for gold where Nerg and Elub are good for points. You'll have to do a complete run through each tribe in order to upgrade to the awesome traps. You'll want to have the Ancient Spear Gun, the Rhinobot, and the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap before leaving. Until you have those, use whichever hydro weapon you have for Elub, Ambush in Nerg, and your best physical trap (Digby Drillbot?) in Derr.
Doing much better against the sentinels than I did against the Flame Warriors:

FK, any more news on when the event will start? I'm assuming/hoping that it happens this week!

*Points to her question above about the Onyx Mallet.

I can't wait for the Halloween Event!

Sorry Wolfie! Totally missed that one!
The short answer: No stinking way! It's very expensive, takes forever to farm the parts needed for it, and isn't that great of a weapon. Your rhinobot is going to be SOOOO much better than that thing (and the Enraged Rhinobot is even better). The only reason you should get it is due the awesome trap design.
The longer answer: The Onyx Mallet is required for some of the library assignments in the Crystal Library (Lord level). You're definitely able to get through that level without it (I did), but it might make certain tasks a little bit easier (this will make more sense when you get to Lord level).
Overall, I'd say not to waste your money on it. Save up for something better like the Enraged Rhinobot, Zugzwang's First Move and the Pawn Pincher Traps. (That's a total of like 2.5 million in purchases. . . which doesn't include the stuff needed for the rhinobot whose parts go to make the Enraged Rhinobot)

First of all, here is the guide that Paul sent me. (I'm guessing it's the same one as FK posted). I always used the books for video games back in the Super Nintendo, etc times. Some of the things I can figure out for myself, some I need help to do. And in this game, I kind of like to know what I'm up against before I head into an area. Although, it doesn't tell you everything, it is helpful.
And I didn't want to totally rely on you, FK and digs for every little thing. But I do appreciate your help when I need it!
Second, I saw the points required for the traps in the Tribal Isles and went screaming like a little girl the other way! I think I will do more in the other areas first. I'm just happy that I can now get to the Tribal Isles. (I think that was a big thing for me because when I signed up, there was a Tribal Isle Loot Weekend going on at the same time so I really wanted to get there).
Love God, love people
lol, i remember seeing it first 2, and i was like...wow...such a massive difference, ive noticed that when u enter a new area, the new traps that are so osm tend to be like 2 times ur point when u enter, like i got to lord at around 32-33mil pnts but the nearest trap doesnt count ZFM38mil, but Blackstone pass and Obvious Ambush+ SBB all at 58mil points, which is extreme since one run at ZT adds 2 around 1 mil point, and even CL, which is fastest normally, only adds 2 aorund 250k pnts a week...so yeah, its ok, camp a lot in Elub if u have the money, then it should be all rite
EDIT: oops. i forgot to mention where i was LOL!!! im back in SG after finishing my assignment, hopes for a filled AMp soon and go ZT again...love that tower...and get my 3rd page for my SBB and hopefullly charge my scholar charm, which i have been trying to get before, but never got it cause yeah, im never there when i catch a CM
