I've caught a mouse every other horn call.
I HATE it when that happens. So irritating in the Warpath. I'd rather miss three and then catch three cause then you at least get a streak.
I love the shipwrecked mouse--the mouse he's holding makes me think of Mickey Mouse!
It reminded me of Tom Hanks and Wilson from Cast Away.
@wolf, oooh, so close to the Rhinobot. Do you have everything ready to go? Stale SuperBrie, Rhino Horn, etc....
@wil, what are you trying to catch in Furoma?
Well, I've demolished the Scouts in Wave 3 with one solid Commander's catch on a streak of five (as well as another random Commander catch on a streak of 1) so I'm doing pretty good.

I have everything except the blueprints (which I'm saving for) and the stale superbrie (I have 16). (Totally forgot this trap requires stale superbrie )

Wolf, the quickest way to get that is to go to furoma and equip Runic Cheese with your stalest setup. You'll have it pronto Upgrade it to the Enraged Rhinobot as soon as possible for maximum umph
FK, still having a wrotten time in Wave 2. Biggest streak I've gotten thus far is 2

wolf, you may already know this, but just in case you don't, the best way to get Stale SB is to stale Runic Cheese.
I'm gonna make a suggestion for you DiGs. This is not a proven method in any way, just something I've found that works for me. I always start with the Scouts, only because if you look at the list provided by the devs, they're the easiest to catch. I think Kat uses a different method from what I use, so hopefully she'll mention what she does.

Oh, I didn't know that! That'll be nice to know when I need to craft the Rhinobot.
I'm up to 228 pieces of Ancient cheese so I'm going to head to the Forbidden Grove when it opens in an hour. Who knows how long I'll be there. Probably until I run out of Ancient cheese because I get so much gold there.
Based on the points needed to build the stronger traps for each type, the following sequence is typical, first you build the tactical trap (the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap) which requires only 8,000,000 points. Once your points reach 12,000,000 and you have enough gold you can craft the Hydro trap (the Ancient Spear Gun). When your points reach 14,000,000, you may purchase the Tribal Base at Cape Clawed which has high power bonus to increase your trap power. And then after your points exceed 16,000,000 you can craft the physical trap (the RhinoBot).
That's what the MouseHunt Wiki says about the Cape Clawed location so that's what I'm ultimately heading toward. I have the necessary points but I need a lot more gold before I can build the Horrific Venus Mouse trap. First, I need 550k gold plus getting the Thorned Vine as loot to convert my Mutated Venus Mouse trap into the Thorned Venus Mouse trap before I can convert that into the Horrific Venus Mouse trap. And in order to get the Thorned Vine, I have to craft some Gumbo cheese in order to catch the Grandfather mouse in Cape Clawed which drops it.
Seems like a long sequence of events but I doubt that it'll take me more than a week. Actually, I take that back. I have an InterVarsity event this weekend and I won't be able to play MouseHunt during it so it'll probably take me a week and a half. Also, if I run out of Ancient cheese before I have the gold I need, I'll just sit tight and farms some more Stale cheese considering I still have 38 Swiss and 132 Marble.
I don't see what starting with the easiest is going to do, if you're "saving the hardest" for later I'd rather get the harder ones out of the way first.

@n_a_h, I remember when I got to the Tribal Isles, I was so overwhelmed with all of the trap and base choices that I made a checklist on paper. Cause even after you get the Tribal traps and bases done, then you have the Ancient Box trap and the Ice Maiden and all this other stuff....
Definitely the most complicated place in the game.
@DiGs, Simple, you're more likely to catch the easier ones in streaks and then you can knock the harder ones down with Commander's Charms. Plus with the other categories eliminated, it increases your chances to get the harder mice in streaks too.

I have something even better. I have the Microsoft Office suite of products so I have OneNote. I have an entire notebook in OneNote dedicated to MouseHunt.
I have the main notebook titled MouseHunt, a section for each region, and pages within those for each specific location. And then in that location page, there's all the info I think is important about that location including how to craft the necessary traps for that location (copied from the Wiki), the cheese necessary and the crafting table from the wiki, a list of what the GS in that particular location sells and the costs (I copy the table directly from the Wiki), and a bullet-point list of random pertinent information such as "must have 12,000,000 points before building the ASG", "Zugzwang's Scarf is obtained from xxx", "Must be a Lord/Lady in order to access the Seasonal Garden", "Use Tactical trap to catch Grandfather Mouse", "Need Gumbo cheese to catch Grandfather mouse", "Combat cheese attracts Cheese Fang, Glutter attracts Cheese Belt, and Shusheese attracts Cheese Claw", what specific bases will work best with each trap, and stuff like that.
I also have a main "MouseHunt" section which has lots of random info that doesn't fit anywhere else. Like how you can get Unstable Curd and what all can be produced when you poke it, the Plankrun's Notes that I have yet to get, random info about what types of mice drop Scrap Metal and Splintered Wood in what areas, and a long term plan with my list of goals with "see SS Huntington II (or whatever location) for more info" written next to each goal. Also, I have a main "Uncaught Mice" page and under that, sub-pages for each region with a list of all the un-caught mice in that region. Each region has a table with the name of the mouse, the cheese required to catch it, the specific location within the region, and the trap type necessary to catch it. Also, there's a spot that says "fantasia_kitty prefers gifts in this order: ....."
OK, enough geeking about my epically awesome and amazing MH notebook.
Wow!!! That's commitment. Well, I have nothing especially exciting to report. I'm not making a whole lot of progress- haven't seen a new mouse in weeks if not months. But I did manage to craft the Obelisk of Incineration last night and am using it instead of the Obelisk of Slumber in the Catacombs. Paired with the CCB, I'm still somewhat underwhelmed, but I'm inching towards 1m.
"To the Great Western Wood, I give you...."
*grumbles over the fact that she was saving her runic for the Acylote...
Ah well I suppose a few pieces won't hurt (But that stuff was hard won!) Thanks... Digs...and FK
(giggles at apparent simulpost ) And no, I didn't know that XD

I hope that each and every one of these Flame Warrior mice have a thoroughly unpleasant war. I hope that they have meager rations cooked over spindly little gas stoves, in torrential downpours. I hope that they get exteriminated in the most painful, inhumane manner allowable by the devs. . . . . .
I have had one streak of three in the entire day

Methinks I shall be on Wave 2 for a while.
Question, it takes two pieces of sandblasted metal to craft the Monstrobot, doesn't it? I suppose that the warmonger doesn't drop both of them at one time. . . does he. (In other words, if I get one of those, I'm still doomed to mediocrity unless I buy the other on the marketplace. )
Here's another question. . . Supposing that I get the sandblasted metal for the first drop. Those things are selling for almost 12 million on the marketplace right now. If I got one of those (and sold it) I would have enough money to craft the OWN, The Sphynx Wrath, The Spellbook Base, and just about anything else that I wanted to. I wonder if that's a terrible idea. . . perhaps they're not even selling

I managed to catch two crown collector mice and zero aether mice. I'll go back to the library after awhile. I'm back in the warpath on wave 3.

It does take two pieces of sandblasted metal to craft the Monstrobot. No he doesn't drop them together.
Unless you have already crafted the Monstrobot, I wouldn't recommend it. The traps are definitely worth it and you have no idea how long it could be before you get another metal drop.
Ok I suppose I'm a little less grumbly now:
-I'd rather stale runic than superbrie
-I still need the Sensei and might work towards him while I'm in the area
-I ran out of RB again

It's definitely better to stale runic, because you'll get to the point where you start getting Runic Potions. I highly doubt there will ever be a Super Brie potion

That was my first thought and somehow I knew someone was going to mention it!
