ETA: I'd been meaning to comment on this for a couple days now and forgot. I noticed they slipped an update through with some very subtle changes. First of all, if you hover over Friends, it now says Friends Group instead of Hunting Group. And if you were involved in the old school tournaments and still have tokens, they now show up in Crafting -> General -> Veteran Tournament Token. Tournaments are getting closer. I can feel it!

Someone asked how much gold will be required for the Halloween event. Jacob couldn't say. But really, it's always affordable for lowbies.
Someone asked when it would start. Around Halloween was the answer.
Today Jacob will be drawing a new trap skin that will be available to obtain during the Halloween event.
Confirmed, a new trap(s?) for the event reward. There will be a standard trap that will be upgradeable. Just like the Pumpkin Pummeler to Cackle Lantern.
Most skin rewards for Halloween event (and there will be several) are going to be mid-ranged trap levels. But the high end trap level skins will be coming as tournament prizes.

What'd the Dragon Mouse(Mice?) drop for you? And how close are you to leveling to Lady? Are you going to go after Balack next?

Zugzwang's scarf, a magic feather, 27 vanilla beans, 2 pinches of annoyance, 5 savoury vegetables and 8 coconut milk. I'm at 62% Knight, so I'm getting close to levelling up. And yes, I will probably go after Balack next. Although I recently realized that I never stayed in Digby long enough to catch the Big Bad Burroughs so I might go back and do that first.

It sounds like he's going to aim for two trap skins today. He's going to start with the Ambush Trap and then if he gets done, he's going to do the Sandtail Sentinel next.

ETA@ 2:23pm CDT: The Ambush Trap skin is awesome. By far and away my favorite trap skin designed to date. He's left to eat lunch and when he returns he's going to start on the second skin design.

ETA@ 3:57pm CDT: The Sandtail Sentinel is done. Looks pretty good, but probably not as good as the Ambush. (Fine with me, I don't have the Sandtail Sentinel and no intention of getting it either ) Jacob still had some time, so for fun, he's turning ZFM into the Headless Horseman.

ETA@ 5:00pm CDT: Jacob is finally DONE!! Three skins completed and he'll be doing a bunch more I think before the Halloween event arrives.

I'm probably going to buy a Hydro trap pretty soon so I can hunt on the SSH. Maybe a new base? I don't know. I've been using the Dehydration Base almost exclusively ever since I got it. Or I'll figure out something I can craft. I think the Hydro trap is my next step though.

I have no clue how much Hydro traps are on the SSH but I guess it's about time to start researching those. I think there's only two you can buy right off and then have to upgrade.

Ok, if you've been using the Dehydration Base, I'll go ahead and recommend the Aqua Base. I didn't have that much luck with it, but wolf is going to town with it.

The Hydro Traps are split right down the middle. The Net Cannon may have a slight edge because of the 3% attraction bonus. Whichever you get, make sure you pair the Harpoon Gun with the Bamboozler/Explosive Base and the Net Cannon with the Aqua Base. Don't do what I did and put the Net Cannon with the Explosive Base because it stunk.

The nice thing about the traps is that if you don't like one you can smash it and craft the other very easily and cheaply.

Yea, when I was researching them I was thinking I'd probably go with the Net Cannon. Growing up commercially fishing, it's so much cooler because it has a net.

i never used any of those so i cant relly tell, but just looking at the differnences, its like diff between NVMRC and Deathbot, and guess what, NVMRC was better, the extra 5 luck beats the 7% bonus power significantly in my experience, just like dff between kraken chaos/DDA and asg, luck is only biger by 4 but power not by much still much better

The DDA is significantly better than the ASG. It's arguably better than the Heat Bath even. Depends on where you are and what mouse you're going after.

Well congrats on your Net Cannon and I see you got the Aqua Base as well so yay.

So I learned something yesterday. The Aether Mouse in the Crystal Library is "especially attracted to SB+". I don't think it's SB+ only but it definitely increases the attraction rate of it. Kind of like the Abominable Snow Mouse in the Mountains. Hubby was using up the last of his SB+ in the Library trying to catch the Crown Collector and got two Aether mice instead. So for Kat and DiGs who don't have one yet, there you go.

Well the catch rate on the Fiery Warpath exploded this morning. Ara, Hubby and I are all at the very end of Wave 3, and none of us can catch a mouse right now. I have one catch on my journal page at the moment and I think Ara and Hubby have 2 or 3. Not sure what happened. I'm 4 mice away from moving onto Wave 4.

status report on my ZT run, its 12:51am here and i got unlocked my rook and caught my first one

I have now caught all of the Balack's Cove mice except Balack himself. I'm in the Jungle farming vanilla beans right now so I can make more Vanilla Stilton so I can farm ingredients for Vengeful Vanilla Stilton. I'm guessing I'm going to need a lot to go after Balack since he's so hard to catch.

I got my ACRONYM trap!!! Woo hoo!!!!! And I got my first Rune in the Forbidden Grove. Don't really know what that means yet, but I will read up and figure it out.
I can't catch a BBB for the life of me. I will deal with him later!
I have some reading to do to find out what my next move will be.
