Competitiveness helps a lot too. I won't lie. Both Kat and the hubby coming from way behind and catching the Dragon first sure lights a fire of motivation and desire to catch back up.

I almost have enough runes for the Ice Maiden ( ) thanks in part to a Scavenger that just dropped 8 runes. I've never seen that many drop at one time.

Yeah, I think it would be a lot less worse if I had had to farm vanilla beans before. I got hundreds of those things from last year's Christmas Event (Remember those WONDERFUL Elf boxes!!!!!!), so this is the first time I've had to farm them. Up to ten beans, so I'll probably start another Cove Run this afternoon. The tide is going up right now, and will be at low tide around 4ish. Who knows, I might have enough for two batches by that time?

Woohoo Dot!! Almost there! Farming those runes took such a long time. Yeah, the most you can get is 8 runes, unless you have the Runic Base and then you can get 9.

After several wonderful days in the Forbidden Grove and Acolyte Realm, I'm all out of Ancient cheese so I'm back in the Catacombs. I built up 800k gold while I was in there though! I have no clue how much Hydro traps are on the SSH but I guess it's about time to start researching those. I think there's only two you can buy right off and then have to upgrade.

That's because I was using the runic base. Like FK said, unless you have that LE base, you'll never get nine; the most you can get is eight.

Well I had a lot of luck with Liches on the latest run. I didn't get my jewel to drop, but I attracted 5 (Three Nerg, One Elub, One Derr), and caught 2 (One Nerg and one Elub). This takes my total Lich-Jewel conquests up to 5.

I still have two pieces of VS remaining, but the tide was coming in. It'll be out again around four o'clock, so I'll head back then. I'm farming vanilla beans (Actually, I might just wait and go in with another batch so as to save a wee bit on travelling)

I'd say it's worse than that, actually. You go into Balack's Cove knowing that Balack is going to be a beast! He's (according to most) the toughest mouse in the game. You have a 38% chance of attracting a lich, and less than 50% chance of catching them. That means that at each horn sound, you've got roughly a 19% chance of catching a litch. You'd think that with those odds, I'd at least be attracting more.

Off of yesterday's VVS supply spree, I crafted three pieces of VVS. Three horn calls and my last Ultimate Luck Charm later. . . nada. You'd've thought that with a total of 5,084 power and 53 luck that that Elub Lich wouldn't have stood a chance! But it still made off with a piece of my bait, as did a Nerg Lich.

The tide is rising swiftly. I've got time for one more trap check before retreating to the Jungle for some more bean farming. (I only got four beans last night )

Some good news: I'm at 98.75% Lord. Baron should be achieved sometime today.

Wouldn't you know it, I spend as much time as possible sounding that horn and my new trap catches nothing. I go to bed and catch all three Draconic mice!

I ditched my assignment since it made me have 2 use ZLM, which im not intersted in using, got this new assignment im almost doen with, then furomaing again for quests, prob another ZT run before of course, since i rather spend my spring and summer getting AMP...

Yeah, levelling from Lord to Baron has taken a LOT more time than it took me to go from Knight to Lord. It'll probably be months and months and months before I'm a Count

*tries to think of advice to offer DiGs* Naturally furoma.com is broken when it comes to Balack's Cove numbers, so I can't give you any solid advice on how to max out your trap setup efficiency....
Lets see, do you have the Spellbook Base yet? I don't recall you ever getting it, and that might do a little better than the MSB. *peeks at the spreadsheet she sometimes uses* Well... .3% better.. Oooh. Ahh.
Although, here's something interesting. They have the numbers for the ACRONYM and Aqua Base on here, and they're only just behind MSB and Spellbook, so you might consider trying out your Candy Cane Base. Even if you have the same catch rate, the extra luck might be the tipping point for getting the item to drop.
Obviously you'll want to hang onto your Simple Orbs for the FW, but if you have a bunch of Flawed Orbs laying around, Rotten and Super Rotten charms are a cheap and easy way to boost your power.
Prospector Charms are fairly cheap and you can buy them by the boatload at the Mountain and they're a step up from the basic Power Charm.
And then obviously, there's my favorite, the Luck Charm. Which you'd want to pair with the Candy Cane Base should you choose to use that one.
Probably none of this stuff will affect your catch rate by more than 1%, but just some other options to consider that may help a bit.
So what are you going to do when you hit Baron?

Yeah, that was the biggest dislike I had regarding the Furoma assignments. I didn't like the fact they required all these lowbie traps and bases. But I finally bought them all (I even crafted that stupid Onyx Mallet trap) just so I could stop smashing assignments and get through them more quickly. At least it's spring in the Garden now though so you could maybe do a Garden Assignment?

Well, I'm doing decently in the FW for run #20. The really nice thing is that for every Commander Charm I've armed so far (4 total) I've caught the Commander. That has NEVER happened before, so it's definitely helping me fly through this run. My catch rates aren't quite as good as previous times through, but I can't complain.

What are you talking about? The MSB has the same amount of luck as the candy cane base, the same amount of power + a 12% power boost. I don't have the spellbook base yet, but it would be really nice to have it, because then I could equip some spellbook charms (of which I have a few) to help. Right now I'm just using luck charms to boost my chance of a loot drop if only by a wee bit.

Well I'll probably level up over the weekend. I'm going to farm vanilla beans for the entire weekend, so that I can hopefully have at least 30 by Monday (maybe 45 if I'm lucky). After I use up that cheese (hopefully completing my zurreal assignment), I'm going to make another tower run. The increased amplifier should make it easier, and hopefully I'll get my last mystic page. In so doing, I will also likely get my sandtail call to arms from one of the mice in the garden. So it's a win win after I complete this stinking zurreal assignment (Two weeks on this thing thus far. . . I am not pleased )
