...you still only have a 7% chance of catching one, if you attract one. Your estimated catch rate of a silth is 1/300 hunts.

Just as I was about to tell you that your math isn't adding up here, I realized I read your post wrong. ;)) But you are talking to the lady who walked into the Pinnacle Chamber and snagged the Sensei on her first try with the MVMT :P ;))

I have tried combinations of the [traps/bases/cheese] in the Lagoon. Still no tiger, no harpy, no silth.

I took a peek at your profile, and I see the issue is attraction, as you've never encountered any of those mice, not catch rate. So, the two things I can suggest is patience ;) and use Wicked Gnarly (this is the ONLY cheese the Silth is attracted to). The Digby Drillbot will do ok at catching the Tiger and Harpy, and the Ambush trap will do slightly more ok with the Tiger, and the Stargate will do slightly more ok with the Harpy... ;)) You will be hard pressed to catch the Silth Mouse without a Hydro trap, though it is possible. Both Booky and EtJ caught their Silths with a lowby tactical trap.

I just got lucky (well, more like divinely favoured :P ) to get mine so quickly.

:)) While I never saw any official word on this, I'm pretty positive that they increased the attraction rate on this mouse since Kat and I originally hunted it. It wasn't the hardest mouse to catch (maybe 1/4 with the ASG?), just difficult to attract. Since I've been back in there, I see them quite often. Congrats by the way :D , and good luck on your Centaur! (You might check Furoma.com to see what the Centaur attraction rate is for Gnarled/Lagoon, Wicked Gnarly/Lagoon, and Gnarled/GGT.)

@wiltheavatar, good luck on catching your Summer Mage! :) Do you have an assignment for it?

~Get 3 more Papyrus (should finish this one this morning hopefully) DONE
~Get a few Tier 2 potions from the King's Gauntlet DONE
~Start to restock on Tribal Isle seashells, stones, and veggies Almost done with Seashells
~Upon the arrival of Fall in the Seasonal Garden, grab an assignment from the Library, head over to the Garden, and test out my new Reaper's Perch.

So just a few more seashells, then stones and veggies, and that should keep me busy until Fall tomorrow. :)

Already done. In the lagoon, with Rewers, and Gnarly cheese, I should be pulling in 13 per hundred hunts. I've probably been here for a hundred hunts, and haven't even attracted one. I keep attracting Water Nymphs, Goblins and Eagle Owls. . . . nothing else :(

WOOT! Thanks to Ceppy hunting in the same area as moi, I caught my Centaur! Golly that took a lot longer than I thought.

Now I'm in the Mousoleum trying to get some ghost mice. ACRONYM should handle them more than adequately ;))

SUH-WEET! I just caught a Silth Mouse. That rounds out my Forest Guild! I headed back to the Lagoon yesterday with the express intent of catching the slippery Silth and thereby completing the Forest Guild, and now I have. :) I am happy.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and share the victory. I'm traveling back around through some of the regions I've already been through in order to get gold and points, which I need more of before continuing to the Jungle of Dread.

After a very brief break in the Tribal Isles, I am now back in the Forbidden Grove farming runes and hanging out in the Catacombs whenever the Grove is closed. Hopefully it won't take too long to get enough runes for the Dracano trap. And then I need to read up on Balack's Cove in the Wiki. I'd like to finish both areas before I level up, which probably won't be for awhile. I am currently at 55% Knight.

October is just around the corner. I wonder when the Autumn/Halloween event will start.

*waves back at wolf* I got the rest of the Veggies I wanted this morning so I've moved onto the Derr Dunes.

Congrats on finally getting your Centaur Mouse DiGs! :)

HUGE congrats to Bother Eustace on the Silth Mouse catch :D Yay! Hey Bother Eustace, if you want, you could also start farming runes in the Forbidden Grove. :)

@Dot, Balack's Cove is very much like the Dojo, except you'll get washed out every few hours. :P

Fall starts in an hour.... posting this here for posterity (or rather because DiGs requested stats ;) )....

Fall Mouses - Catch/FTC - Catch rate

Harvest Harrier Mouse - 278/229 - 55%
Harvester Mouse - 28/47 - 37%
Fall Familiar - 2/2 - 50%
Pumpkin Head Mouse - 239/1 - 99.6%
Scarecrow Mouse - 262/7 - 97%
Whirleygig Mouse - 193/0 - 100%

Bother Eustace congratulations on your Silth! Doesn't it feel great to complete an area (I still need to catch a Cherry Mouse back in Whisker woods to complete out that section. It's just taking the time to do it that's preventing me from getting it done). What trap are you going to use in the JoD? The Gorgon Trap?

Dot I personally have a love/hate relationship with Balack's Cove. I never found the tides to be particularly confusing or annoying, but it seems like you catch the same mice there over and over and over again. The ones you need are rare, strong, and creepy ;)). Thankfully, I didn't have to spend too much time in there. Good luck with your quest for Balack!

Wil did you get your summer mage? I'm sorry if you didn't. I know how frustrating it can be when the season changes without completing an assignment. Have you looked into any of the furoma assignments? They're pretty straightforward.

I too have been wondering about the Halloween event. I think it'd be really awesome if it gave out some new shadow traps (which I think will be doubtful with this new Reaper's Perch). At any rate, it'll be fun, I'm sure (last year's Halloween event was my favourite event in the history of MH, and that includes Christmas!)

Still trying to nab my last ghost mouse. It takes patience, but at least I'm pulling in a hefty profit in the Mousoleum.

EDIT: Still waiting. . . I never have problem catching mice. . . until I need to :P

I see that this weekend is going to be a bonus tribal isle loot weekend. I'll probablly camp out in Elub Shores, because I'm going to need some more seashells for my zurreal assignment.

Congrats Wolfie! You'll have your Ancient Box Trap before too awful long! I'll be joining you in Elub Shores tomorrow.

I caught my last ghost mouse, and am now trying to go after a leviathan or squeaken mouse. I want my Mesh Netting ;)

EDIT: Got my mesh netting a lot quicker than I thought I would! I'm now sitting in Derr dunes trying to get some red pepper seeds so that I can make some inferno havarti. I have 4 Inferno peppers the way it is, so I could have my whelping mouse (and hence another piece to the puzzle) before the end of the night!

EDIT-2: Got another batch of Inferno Havarti, and now (hopefully) I will catch my Whelping mouse. So far, I've gotten two Wardens. . . now Whelping :(

I'm now in the Forbidden Grove. I spent all my gold on Ionized Salt and have crafted 309 Ancient Cheese. I traveled back to the Catacombs with just 502 gold to spare. Then I realized I needed 1,000 gold to travel to the Catacombs. :p But fortunately, 500 isn't that much and I caught a Skeleton mouse and had enough. So I'm now down to 462 gold. With my setup (ACRONYM + Dehydration Base + Ancient cheese + Lucky Golden Shield), I should be making on average a little over 1700 gold per hunt so I hope to earn some more gold while collecting runes.

I pretty much have decided to wait and come back to the mice that I haven't caught (with a bigger and better trap) since I have noticed that everyone seems to come back to these areas.

I am 12% away from Legendary and collecting scrap metal (up to 7 pieces! ;)))

BOTHER euSTce: congrats on silth
Digs:i wish there is a good upgradable trap for halloween as well, since i lost the chance to get my pumpkin pumbler which leads to cackle lantern which seems pretty good, and for winter hunt, since they switch trap type every year, i think im hoping for something interesting like a imba high luck trap
ZT run going ok already at 2nd bishop and stil have 122% amp, i have a good feeling about this run
ok, on rrook now, with 116 amp, i have a good feeling about this run :)

EDIT: caught my rooks back t oback and got a queen, but there is a problem, why do i need to catch 2 queens?

Yeah! It sounds like you are in much better shape this time. Are you doing a Mystic or a Technic run? How are you liking ZFM?

I pretty much have decided to wait and come back to the mice that I haven't caught (with a bigger and better trap) since I have noticed that everyone seems to come back to these areas.

What mice? What areas? You're right though, you're going to have to revisit almost all of the areas you've visited so far at some point or other during the game. Focus on what you "want" to do in this game. . . not what you "should" do. It's more fun that way.

I spent all my gold on Ionized Salt and have crafted 309 Ancient Cheese.

Yowza! That much salt must have set you back a pretty penny! Oh well, at least you've got plenty of cheese now (which will turn into MEGA profits in the Catacombs). Good luck!

I got pretty upset with the game last night. I caught an Elub Lich mouse, but it did not drop the Lich Jewel. I thought that these Zurreal Trap parts had a 100% drop rate. I've always had trouble with the lich mice. I might have another run through there today (I hate Balack's Cove).

Spent the night in Elub farming sea shells. I need ten more to make a batch of shell cheese, which will let me farm blue pepper seeds, which will let me make magical havarti, which will let me catch my stonework warrior mice. Complicated, I know :-s

Probably not gonna spend the weekend in Elub, I'll have everything I need (seashell-wise) by this afternoon, so I'll probably pass the time in the Training Grounds getting my luscious lumbers.
