I would like to eventually have caught all the mice there are in the game (yes, I know that'll take awhile). By the way, are Event mice recurring? I know that some of them are, like the Glitchpaw, but are any others? There's 48 in all and I've only caught one of them. :p

EDIT: By the way, if it's says "especially attracted to SB+" and "Bait pref: SB+" does that mean SB+ is the only thing that will catch it? Or does it mean it will occasionally bite on other types?

I don't think anyone saw this since it was so close to the bottom on the last page so I'm reposting it. So if anyone can answer these, it'd be great! *cough*fk*cough* :p

I'm in Dojo right now farming Tokens. I don't know why, I'm just bored with the Catacombs. :p Also, I'm at 96% on my way to Hero. I level up so much faster in Dojo and the Meditation Room. So I'll probably stay here until I make Hero and then I'm going to go buy a bunch of Ionized Salt and head to the Forbidden Grove.

Oh, I'm sorry, I did see it but as it got buried on the previous page before I replied, I forgot about it.

Yes, all Event mice are recurring, but the Leprechaun Mouse (the hardest mouse in the game to catch and one of the two I don't have) has been on hiatus for a year and a half now. :P He'll return someday. *shakes her fist at the Leprechaun*

Can you give me a specific example of which mice you're referring to on the Wiki? Because I'm not 100% sure without seeing which mice the Wiki is referring to. I have listed out all of the SB+ only mice, and that can be found here.

OK, I checked that and most of the mice I was thinking of are on that list.

I was making a list in OneNote (I have an entire notebook within OneNote dedicated to MH :-B) of the mice I had yet to catch in the regions I can access and what trap set-ups and bait to use. So while looking on the Wiki, some of the mice ( Pebble, Tiny, Flying, Speedy, Magic, Dumpling Chef, and some others) say "Pebble mice have been found to be especially attracted to SUPER|brie+ cheese" under Preferred Cheese and then under Bait Pref on the right, it says SB+.

And then there's only one mouse that I've found so far (the Nibbler) that says "Nibbler mice are especially attracted to SUPER|brie+ cheese, to the point that any other kind of cheese will simply not suffice" under Preferred Cheese.

So the way it sounded, mice would bite on other cheese besides SB+ unless it specifically said "No other kind will suffice".

If that makes sense at all.

On a side note, I have waited two years to use this :-B smiley! I'm so happy I finally found an excuse to use it!

You may want to try equipping swiss or brie in the Great Gnarled Tree.

Did you mean the Lagoon? I was just wondering cause if you use Gnarled in the Great Gnarled Tree, you'll still attract Treant Mice.

I'm not even sure... but in one of them Swiss only attracted like 4 mice... which of course led to one of two events happening either you'd catch a lot of those 4 mice or you'd catch abesolutely nothing... Like I said I'm not even sure if it's an actual trick or if it's a fluke... so I'm giving Ram this:

WARNING! The Technique described above may not work!

I only tried it twice, it only worked once I think... not very good data, but if one finds themselves with extra swiss and time on their hands...

However FK's right you'll also get Treant mice with Gnarled

I've been using Gnarled and Digby Drillbot in the Great Gnarled Tree and have been getting some Treant mice.

I am 21% away from Legendary.

Ram you need a tactical trap :P Do you have the Ambush or one of the Venus Mouse traps? Though if you're drillbot's performing better that any of your tactical traps then I'd say use it. What base are you using?

She doesn't have to use a tactical trap in those locations. I used my Christmas Cracker Trap all the way until I hit the Mousoleum. Shoot, I even used it in the Dojo and Training Grounds.

I've completed three out of my five tasks. I need to catch ten more mice using an attraction charm, and a summer mage mouse, and then I'll cross the lovely threshhold of 900 library points! Hopefully, that'll happen sometime today.

The uh, Christmas Cracker Trap just might be ever so SLIGHTLY better than the Digby Drillbot.... :P And it just MIGHT have performed better than any other tactical trap released up to the point of the Tribal Isles.... ;))

wolf is right, the Ambush Trap would perform better in the Great Gnarled Tree than the Digby Drillbot does because it's a tactical trap and the GGT mice are tactical mice. (Except against the Bat Mouse. ;) ) You can double check the catch rate numbers on Furoma.com if you want to see them. :)

So, here's my personal hunting to-do list over the next few days.
~Get 3 more Papyrus (should finish this one this morning hopefully)
~Get a few Tier 2 potions from the King's Gauntlet
~Start to restock on Tribal Isle seashells, stones, and veggies
~Upon the arrival of Fall in the Seasonal Garden, grab an assignment from the Library, head over to the Garden, and test out my new Reaper's Perch. :D

That should keep me busy over the next few days. ;))

And I want statistics!!!!! :P

Haven't even attracted a summer mage mouse (which is odd). If I could just nab him, I'd be guaranteed to finish up today. We shall see.

I think it's just difficult because they're a bit less common than the other mice in there. My personal catch rates for Boss mice in the garden is as such:

Summer Mage: 58.3%
Vinetail: 54.2%
Winter Mage: 38.9%
Harvester: 12.0%

I suppose I'll get one eventually ;)

EDIT: Got one! Now it is time for my Zurreal Assignment! As the Grove closes in less than one hour, it's a good way to start off by grabbing a Warp Nail. Do Realm Rippers drop more than one of those nails?

EDIT 2: Got one of my nails.

Oh, and for all of those saying how hard the silth mouse was. . . I just walked into the lagoon, attracted and caught one on my first try. . . . . Yeah, used a grand total of 1 piece of wicked gnarly in my quest for one of the hardest mice in the game.....

So now I'm still hanging out in the lagoon. Waiting for a Centaur mouse to come along so that I can get my Desert Travel Almanac.

EDIT 3: I am having so much trouble getting a Centaur. I've been in the Lagoon for almost twenty-four hours now and haven't even attracted one. . . It's disheartening ;))

The reason I was using the digby drillbot instead of the ambush trap was because I caught 2 hydra with it and a troll with it! I have tried combinations of the drillbot/ambush/sinister traps with the dehydration/explosive bases and gnarled/wicked gnarly cheese in the Lagoon. Still no tiger, no harpy, no silth. So I'm taking a break from there and now am in Digby farming scrap metal. (Up to 5 pieces!) And attempting to get the Nugget and BBB, but that's not my main goal.
I have all my other items (except the bubbleh) for the ship, so thus, the metal.

19% away from Legendary!!!!! :D

The Digby Drillbot is a great trap, don't get me wrong, but you're going to have an Mind-killingly terrible time if that's the trap with which you're going to try to catch your Silth mouse. With your Digby Drillbot and your Dehydration Base armed + the lucky golden shield + a power charm, you still only have a 7% chance of catching one, if you attract one. Your estimated catch rate of a silth is 1/300 hunts. So I'd wait until you've got a much stronger trap (like the enraged rhinobot, or ZFM, or the ASG) before tackling him. I just got lucky (well, more like divinely favoured :P ) to get mine so quickly.

Got another Warp Nail when the FG closed about an hour ago. That makes 2/3 of them. Then I headed over to the Town of Gnawnia to get my encylopedia drop off of my master burglar (which I got). Now it's back to the Lagoon trying to get that pesky Centaur to come my way.

Well, I'm back in the Catacombs. I used most of my gold crafting the SSH so I was down to some 13k. I need Ancient cheese for the Forbidden Grove. To craft it, I need Stale cheese (which I have) and Ionized Salt (which I have to buy). So I'm farming gold until I have enough to buy more Ionized Salt.

By the way, for the time being, I would prefer Stale Cheese over Radioactive Sludge. But crafting items and potions always come above that. :)
