I have a question for those of you who consider the figures of this game more than I do. Is it better to use the ABT or ACRONYM in Catacombs? I've been using ABT because it has such a power boost over ACRONYM, but I seem to be getting more misses and gold-stealing mice with ABT. Should I switch?

Is it better to use the ABT or ACRONYM in Catacombs?
Oh, ACRONYM, no question. Power should only be a defining factor in choosing a trap if the two traps are the same type. The ACRONYM trap is Arcane and the ABT is Forgotten. The mice in the Catacombs are far easier to catch with an Arcane trap. There are only a handful of mice in the game that are easier to catch with a Forgotten trap.
I don't see why you like this area so much, FK
Cause it's the hardest area in the game and I like a good challenge.
I concur, wholeheartedly, Stwin. Use ACRONYM and you'll do MUCH better in there. Pair it with a powerful base if you want more power. In my experience 100 Power = 1 Luck, so using a luckier base might be better than using a more powerful base.
I like to view my trap's "Actual Power," and so far it really has helped me to determine which trap setup is best for me. To do this, I choose the trap that will work the best, and then I start swapping out different bases. For example:
Let's say we know that we're going to be using the Enraged Rhinobot (say you're hunting in Derr Dunes, and you know you're going to need the best physical trap you've got).
Enraged Rhinobot:
Power: 5900
Power Bonus: 10%
Luck: 20
Now, you wanna pair this with the most successful base. You have the following two to consider:
Gingerbread Base:
Power: 225
Power Bonus: 8%
Luck: 4
Candy Cane Base:
Power: 300
Power Bonus: 0%
Luck: 8
Now, when equipped with each of these bases, you get the following setups:
With Candy Cane:
Power: 6820
Power Bonus: 10%
Luck: 28
With Gingerbread:
Power: 7228
Power Bonus: 18%
Luck: 24
To determine the "Actual Power" of a trap, multiply the luck by 100, and add it to the regular power.
With Candy Cane: 6820 + 2800 = 9620 Actual Power
With Gingerbread: 7228 + 2400 = 9628 Actual Power
So the two bases look pretty darn close to each other. When this happens, always go with the luckier base, because luck increases exponentially (meaning that at high levels small increases can mean big oomph), where power increases linearly (meaning that a small increase in power gives a small increase in catching ability). However, if the difference is more than 300 or so "Actual Power" than I'd go with the more powerful trap setup.
Don't forget to account for area specific effects either, such as using the Seasonal Base in the Garden, or using the Tiki base in the Tribal Isles.
Any ways, enough ranting about stats and stuff.

You may already know this, but the Crown Collector is likely beyond you right now, even if you could already hunt in the Bazaar. Its attraction is directly proportional to the amount of King's Crowns that you have, and I've heard on the forum that a good target it aim for is minimum 80 silver crowns before you try for this guy.
I knew "Crown Collector" sounded bad!
Yes, you can go to the Lagoon at any time as soon as you hit Grandmaster. My personal suggestion is to wait to go there until you have the Ambush Trap from Furoma, but it's certainly not required.
Thanks for the help!
Congrats on getting all of your Shadow Mice by the way.
Thank you very much!
Digs--your last post was COMPLETELY over my head...just thought you should know!!!!
Current: 95% towards Grandmaster
Love God, love people
@Stwin: definitely ACRONYM! I'd recommend pairing it with either the Aqua Base or the Candy Cane Base, but it's totally up to you! (Granted I don't have any of the event bases save one- The Chocolate Birthday Cake Base- But I'd go with one of your luckiest bases, preferably one that has a lot of power.
Edit I am officially a Knight I see Ram leveled up today as well Congrats!
Quick Question: Would I make more money in the Catacombs or the Forbidden Grove. I'm trying to get the last bit of gold I need for my Horrific Venus Mouse Trap.

I just leveled up to Grandmaster! (Obviously, thanks Wolfy! )
And I passed the 1 million point mark! YES!!!!!
And congrats Wolfy on your Knighthood!
Still following the list. Any suggestions as far as what cheese to use in the Training ground? I'm using my Mutated Venus MT with Swiss right now. I'm catching Dwarf mice. (And that one Monk).
Love God, love people
Oh I hope I didn't spoil the fun for you Ram I didn't mean to if I did and will edit if you'd like
And congrats on 1 Mil points

It's okay, wolfy! I don't mind!
And thanks!
EDIT: Never mind about the question regarding the cheese. I'm catching mice now and have the ticket to the Bazaar! Yay!

Congrats to both of you!!

I think you will make a teensy bit more gold in the Catacombs, but not much, and you'll get Runes in the FG, which you should start thinking about collecting. So I put in a vote for FG.
Have you been linked the timers yet wolf? Since the FG closes and ports you to the Acolyte Realm on occasion, it's a great site to use.

Either Swiss or Brie. But since I know that you're on a quest to get all of the mice in the game as you're going through, there are two SB+ only mice there that you don't have yet, The Dumpling Chef and the Worker. (The Worker can also be caught in the Dojo.)
Once you hit the Dojo, I suggest using Brie as the cheese to use from that point on until you can get Gouda. Obviously excluding special cheeses like Radioactive Blue.
*is currently working her way through Wave 3. Scouts and Archers have been destroyed and the Warriors are going down too. Oh, and I got a my gold crown for the Archers and Scouts yesterday. I'll get my gold crown for the Warriors today. *
I'm having a rather strange tower run. I've caught like 5 rooks so far, but haven't even attracted a queen. 5 Rooks? In what realm does that make sense . Any ways, I've still got about 70% left in my amplifier, so I hope that I can nab my queen and king making this a successful tower run.
Congrats to Ram and Wolfie on recent accomplishments! FK, congrats on your gold crowns.
EDIT: Caught another Mystic Knight (like the sixth one this run ), and attracted two queens (neither was caught). Is the Mystic Team statistically more difficult than the technic team, because I have always had problems with the mystic team?
EDITx2: Nabbed my Queen. Amplifier sits at 46%. It's not impossible for me to get my king, but we'll have to wait and see.
EDIT 3: Good news: I nabbed my King. Bad news: No Mystic Page drop. . . Instead I got this stupid mystic crystal. The Blackstone Pass Trap does not look at all interesting to me, and I just wasted all of this time

Just so ya know, I got the Mystic Crystal, the Droid Jetpack, as well as AT LEAST two runs with the cheese mould being the only drop, before I got all the materials for the Spellbook Base. I don't remember Kat's stats exactly, but she had to do even more runs than I did, so I wouldn't complain too much yet.
Well I don't know what happened to me yesterday, but I ceased to be able to catch a mouse in the Warpath. I had the Oasis trap with the Mage Charm armed, and I was catching about 1/5 mice. It was like being back in the Derr Dunes with the Digby Drillbot again.
So I switched tactics and went after the Cavalry mice instead. (I usually save them til last cause they're worth a lot of gold and I was using my wealth charms on 'em )
I'll be wrapping up Wave 3 here in a bit and moving on to Wave 4. Then it's back to the Muridae Market to restock on supplies and get 5 more Papyrus.
I'm also toying with the idea of doing another Library assignment cause those are fun.
ETA: Oh yeah, for the record, I don't like the new Hunting Group page. Nor did they fix any of the problems that it had before. *sigh*

I miss the side scoreboard I have enough right now for the plans but it'll set me broke and I don't really have enough yet for travel costs... I'm running out of RB cheese too

That's back when I thought that a torn page was a guaranteed loot drop each time. . . . I have been properly informed now
Hunting in the catacombs until Spring comes tomorrow afternoon. Not much to report: Boring, but profitable.

*sticks head in from Florida*
I know I had to make at least 4 additional runs in the tower before I caught everything. I think it was more like 6 or 7. I mean above the 6 for the page drops.
I'm currently located in the warpath. One of these days I'll get the sphynx crystal and that last sand blasted metal!. I'm only on wave 2 because I'm only online like once every other day at the moment and I'm only online long enough to swap charms. When I get back home, I'll swap over to library assignments again.
Well I just got another Sphynx Crystal to drop this morning so I sent it your way Kat since you don't have either of the big traps yet.
I've returned to my favorite place, the Muridae Market, for 5 more Papyrus.
Looking forward to FBF today.
