Well, I'm not doing so hot in the Meditation Room so far. I've had two failed hunts and they're stealing points and gold. I have a 31.01 % sucess rate based on my setup (Mutated Venus + Dehydration Base + 13 Luck Charms). I just disabled the Luck Charms because that only gives 0.something % more success with those than without. Anyway, I only have 15 Shusheese, 15 Glutter, and 18 Combat Cheese because that's only how many tokens of the Cheese Belt, Claw, and Fang I had managed to accumulate in Dojo. So if I'm hoping I can catch each of the masters and get them to drop the Shards before I run out of each type. Otherwise, it's back to Dojo to get more Tokens. Actually, if I run out, I'll probably arm Brie and try to get that Hapless Mouse to drop the Blueprints for the Ambush trap really quickly before going back to Dojo.
EDIT:
I just got the Master Fang Shard on my 7th piece of Combat Cheese! I still have eleven pieces left. I just armed Glutter cheese and hopefully I'll get the next Shard pretty soon. I disarmed my Combat cheese when I left for a couple hours. I didn't want to get the Fang Shard right away and then just keep using up Combat Cheese when I didn't need to during the hourly trap checks. I'm going to disarm the Glutter cheese when I go to bed if I don't get the next Shard before then.
(NW's glitching again)
@nah the only thing I can suggest is to play around with your bases.
Tier's 3 &4 kill me- I never get any loot drops. After that it's not so bad because I have ACRONYM and the Ancient Spear Gun, but I severely need a tactical upgrade. Luckily I'm halfway up in gold from getting one. I might spend some time in the lab eventually after I level up, I need the RB 'cause I need the gold
Hopefully I have got Tier One figured out- at least my tacky glue trap worked last time... I got like 6 potions over night with it, and Tier Two is all right. Tiers 5 and 6 are wonderful as long as I got enough cheese though 3 and 4. 7 is decent, and I never made it to 8, but I have a feeling that "not being easy" is an understatement.

I just got the Master Belt Shard after just three pieces of Glutter Cheese! Only one more to go using Shusheese and then I'll switch to Brie and try to get those Blueprints.
NAH, glad to hear that you're enjoying yourself, and that things are going well.
Wolf, it's not abnormal. Drop rates get lower and lower the higher up you go. Your next tactical trap will be the Horrific Venus Mouse Trap , which is a huge upgrade from Ambush.
As for me:

Over last evening, I got all the shards and I activated Brie overnight. I caught four or five Hapless Mice during the night but none dropped the Blueprints. This morning, I sounded the horn and got the BluePrints on the first horn blow of the morning. So now, I'm headed to the Training Grounds and the Bazaar to pick up a few last crafting things I need to make the Ambush Trap. After that, I'm not sure where I'm going to go: probably back to Dojo.
EDIT:
Argh. I was SO looking forward to making my Ambush Trap and it turns out I can't! I can only craft with six different items as a Legendary so I have to wait until I've leveled up! It takes seven different items to make the Ambush trap: the Blueprints, rice paper, splintered wood, the three Shards, and Droid parts.
So I guess it's back to Dojo for a couple hours. I level up faster there than anywhere else. I'm only at 4% so it's going to be at least a month if not longer. Probably longer.
I'm going to have to research where might be better to go after church. I can access more places as a Legendary but I'm not seeing any of those under travel. Maybe I need to find map pieces in which case I'm definetly doing that! But, it all has to wait until after church.
@n_a_h, congrats on your three Dojo Masters. Two notes for you though.
~If you have the money after you craft the Ambush Trap, you should start the repair for the Mousoleum map piece (if you haven't done that already) cause it takes 5 days and you'll need it soonish.
~When you decide to go after the Master of the Dojo, make SURE you use the recipe that crafts 3 pieces of Rumble cheese and not 1 piece.
@DiGs, what's the title of your current assignment?
Oh, and I saw your note up above about the tactical trap being better than the shadow trap in the Fall. I just only recently discovered that myself. Reading through the notes last FBF I think the devs noticing the same thing and they were taking feedback on where people would use a new high level Shadow Trap. I think they're trying to figure out how to get that Reaper trap into the game that Jacob drew a month or so ago. I'd buy it!
@Kat, I'm noticing more and more that you are not required to do all of the assignments. The advanced ZT assignment can easily be skipped if you don't want to bother with it. The only thing you get out if it by doing it is more charms (yay, Rook Crumbles!) and Library points. But in the time required for you to do that, you could easily do the Library research one over and over again and probably end up with just as many points if not more. I think that's gotta be what the people with ridiculous amount of library points on the scoreboard are doing.
I myself am in fact doing the

Thanks for the advice. Yea, I was just deciding I'll probably try to repair the Mousoleum piece since I can't craft that Ambush trap yet.
I had my first Mousehunt dream last night.
Wolf, FK and I were all at FK's house, but it was in this weird post-apocalyptic world. Sulfrous clouds, bare earth, and dead trees were surrounding the backyard. It was like you'd relocated to the middle of nowhere . ANyways, there was this REALLY steep hill at the back of your house (through a dead forest), and at the top of the hill was this old warehouse.
Apparently, it had been taken over by Technic Mice (as had the entire world apparently), and it was up to the three of us to fight them off. We didn't use traps though; the King of Gnawnia (who was exiled somewhere) sent us guns based on our ranks. Wolf, you had a machine gun. I had some sort of plasma cannon, and FK. . . well. . . you being so advanced and all, you had some sort of grenade launcher that shot out these balls of lava.
Any ways, the three of us (decked out in camo and equipped with walkie talkies and really cool sunglasses of course) headed up the steep path to the abandoned warehouses, and started kicking some tail (no pun intended ). We found two other hunters there. One was a girl I work with at the bird sanctuary; the other I have no idea who she was.
The technic mice weren't going down easy though. Apparently a snitch had told them about FK's lava grenade launcher thingamajig, because they had filled entire rooms with lava, and had these weird machines that allowed them to walk all over it. So wolf and I started shooting at them, while FK hunted down the Technic Queen.
It was at this point that I woke up
Any ways, back to REAL mousehunting
DiGs, what's the title of your current assignment?
Technic King Research Assignment. I was hoping for a mystic run (I've got at least two of those to struggle through still ), but oh well.
Reading through the notes last FBF I think the devs noticing the same thing and they were taking feedback on where people would use a new high level Shadow Trap
I hope not! I would hope that they'd raise the stats of the cackle lantern (something I've also heard they're contemplating). I spent more than two million on this thing (not to mention that the trap looks amazing), and the fact that Rewers is doing better than it does is. . . .pathetic to say the least. As awesome as that trap looked (got a link to it by the way?), I hope that it is not needed until much later on (although I would probably buy it too, because it was awesome).
NAH, congrats on catching all of those masters! Hopefully you'll get your ambush trap soon, but I agree with FK. Get the Mousoleum map piece repaired ASAP. That place is a gold mine for low level players. You'll have to buy a shadow trap before entering there, which will set you back a pretty penny, so you may wanna farm some gold if you have nothing else to do.

I already have the Sinsister Shadow trap. Which place is a goldmine? The Mousoleum or where you can get to with the repaired map piece? I know the Mousoleum is a gold mine. I'm debating going back there to get more gold until I can build the Ambush trap. The only thing is, I level up faster in Dojo and I want to level up so I can build that trap. I don't know. I'll probably go back to the Mousoleum at least for awhile. Although, I thought that you couldn't go to the Mousoleum while the map piece is being repaired? I'll have to check it out in the Wiki.
Sorry about that, NAH .
I'm glad to hear that you have the Sinister Portal. It's great in the Mousoleum (which is the goldmine ) at this point in the game. Once you get another map piece fixed, you'll be able to hunt in the catacombs, which is an even bigger gold mine, but you'll want the ACRONYM trap first .

Yea, I'm going to work on that. I'm considering going to the Lagoon at some point until I get to the next level. I need to get the Ship blueprints and they Hydra mouse drops them there. However, according to the Catch Rate Estimates on Furoma, I only have a 15% chance of catching it with my current set up (Dehydration Base + Mutated Venus). I really need a stronger trap such as the Ambush according to the Wiki.
So I'm going to head to the Mousoleum, figure out what I need to collect/find/get/beg/borrow/steal ( just kidding) in order to craft the ACRONYM and figure out where to go from there.
I like this game. It's way more challenging then the others I play. I used to play Farmville regularly (and don't anymore) and I still regularly play Treasure Isle. In order to advance in FV and TI you either have to get a lot of TI/FV cash (which is only found one at a time in TI and that's very rare or in FV, you get one cash each time you level up) or you have to have lots of friends who play regularly to help you out with different stuff. Like in order to finish stuff in TI you have to "get a crew" (by getting friends who play to "sign up") or "get xxx piece" which can only be given by friends or purchased for .... not gold which is easily acquired but with TI cash which has to be purchased. It's really annoying because I have no friends who regularly play and I am NOT spending money on a computer game!
Anyway, I love that MouseHunt doesn't require purchases to advance. I can get SuperBrie if I need it by doing surveys and I have a separate e-mail for those.
Enough of my rant about Zynga games.
Thank you to FK and digorykirke and whoever else started this thread and posted in it enough to make me notice the thread and so got me playing.
I actually caught my hydra mouse with the MVMT and the Gingerbread Base (which is similar to the Dehydration Base). So, it can be done .
I'm glad you're enjoying the game . It can be quite addictive.
Finished the first part of my assignment, now it's time to

Digs, your dream sounds hilarious I must say I have yet to have dreams about web/computer games. (Though I have about Narnia and NW)
I am still in the Guantlet. And I believe the scoreboard on the side only shows the top 5 active players... cause that's all it's showing on mine so far.

I played Frontierville for a while and really enjoyed it to be quite honest. But I had major issues with Zynga... it was all about money for them and so I quit and refuse to pick up another game by them.

I'm going to be quite honest with you here, I never got the Ship Blueprints to drop off of the Hydra, even with the Ambush. I finally ended up buying them because I made the amount of money it cost to do so before it dropped. DiGs has never had trouble catching hard mice (rare mice is a different story) whereas I've had a world of trouble with quite a few of them. So I guess this long rambling bit is to say... May you have DiGs's luck and not mine.
By the way, what do you still need for the Ambush Trap? You can't be too far off.
I had my first Mousehunt dream last night.
Wolf, FK and I were all at FK's house...
That was as far as I got before I started busting up laughing. The bit with the lava grenades was good too.
Well, tonight I got my first Library assignment that required SB+. And it will also be the last. (Unless it's the one that involves catching Zurreal.) I don't particularly feel the need to do assignments that waste my precious cheese. Cause unlike the rest of you, I've never once managed to get the surveys to work for me so I have to buy it off the market. (I also donate $1 a month for the shield... don't mind doing that for games I fully support.) Anywoo... doesn't look like I'll hit 500 points tonight unless I get really lucky. Probably I'll get there tomorrow.
May you have DiGs's luck and not mine.
By the way, what do you still need for the Ambush Trap? You can't be too far off.
I don't need anything. I bought everything I needed from the market and I've got all the Shards. However, while trying to craft it, I discovered that it takes seven pieces to craft the Ambush trap and since I'm only a Legendary, I can only craft with six! I was so dissapointed! So I'm just roaming around doing whatever until I level up which will be a loooooong time because I'm only at 4%.
(I also donate $1 a month for the shield... don't mind doing that for games I fully support.)
You can also get the shield by completing the surveys. I don't do the surveys though unless I have LOTS of time. Because some of them take twenty or thirty minutes or more!
I just completed a survey because in order to craft the ACRONYM, I need Magic Essence and I'm slowly working toward acquiring the parts. I can't build it for awhile because I need over 600,000 gold (of which I only have 270k) to get the Blueprints, over 300k to get the Obelisk of Slumber to smash (and I don't have access to the Catacombs yet or the 300k and in order to get access to the Catacombs, I'm going to have to spend 160k to fix the map piece), and I need almost 3.4 million points (of which I have 2.7mil) to craft it. So the ACRONYM is a long term goal.
I think I'm going to get started fixing the Mousoleum map piece and go to the Laboratory while that's being worked on. That way, I can build up some more Radioactive Blue potions. I currently have 15 potions plus 206 pieces but who knows how long I'll be in the Catacombs or Mousoleum where I need Radioactive Blue. Also, I may get enough gold to buy the Obelisk of Slumber before the map piece is repaired. Then I can use that trap in the Catacombs until I have enough gold to build the ACRONYM and have collected all the loot I need. Then I'll smash that trap to obtain the Obelisk parts to craft the ACRONYM. If I don't get enough gold for the Obelisk before then, I'll hang out in the Mousoleum until I do have enough gold to buy it before heading into the Catacombs.
I'll also probably buy some Ionized Salt and make some Ancient cheese. That is supposed to be good (according to the Wiki) for getting Scrap Metal out of the Catacombs of which I need 12 for the ACRONYM and I currently have 0. I also wouldn't mind getting some Undead Emmental potions while in the Catacombs or Mousoleum in order to get the Zombot Unipire mouse.
EDIT: I just had to make a cheese run and am now down to 36k gold. There is no way I'm getting enough gold for the Obelisk before the map piece is done.
