The knights are on the loose as of 138%. That's not the best, but I'm really only concerned with nabbing my library card this time through. If I don't go all the way, it's not the end of the world. (Although it would be nice not to have to worry about any more technic mice ever again )
EDIT: Nabbed one of the Knights. Hopefully I'll nab the other before I go to bed, and hopefully I can get one of the bishops too. If I'm lucky, I might have my library card before I go to sleep tonight!!!

Well the good news is I made it to Tier 7 and got the Fiend mouse. The bad news is that's about when I fell off again... (Ok so I got impatient on Tier 1 ) So... try number 3. (*Is currently accepting gifts of Mozzarella cheese with great appreciation).
I only need the Paladin, the Necromancer and the Eclipse. Oh and I past 90% today.

Wolf! Wolf! Wolf! I am sooooo sorry that you fell off the tower again! Do you have to start over from scratch, or do you have some mid-gauntlet potions to use?
I've nabbed both of my bisops, but I haven't gotten a library card yet. We'll see if I can get one off of the rooks.

I'm a teensy bit frustrated this morning, but I have no one to blame but myself. I glanced at the MH forum to check and make sure that the Crown Collector Mouse wasn't SB+ only. Low and behold, all of the registered catches on the forums were in the Crystal Library, not the Bazaar. And yes, it is SB+ only. ARRRGGG!!! A WHOLE DAY WASTED IN THE STUPID BAZAAR!!!! Ah well.
Anyways, I'm back in the Library, armed with SB+ hoping to catch him. The good news is that I definitely have a lot more crowns than what people are reporting on the forum. So that shouldn't be an issue.
FK, what can you tell us about the "assignments" in the library?
You have been PMed.
*also loves spoilers*
;)) Do you want me to just paste my whole reply to DiGs here? *goes ahead and does so, sans smilies *
1. What trap kinds will I need? What setup are you using?
Physical and Tactical traps. For future reference, you can tell this by going to the mice page, and selecting the tab of mice. It will list at the top all of the trap types you will use for that area.
DiGs wrote:
2. What cheese are you using? Any charms?
Gouda. No charms required but I've been using attraction charms.
DiGs wrote:
3. How many new mice?
12, but Zurreal isn't released yet. Again, you can see this one on your Mice page.

4. What exactly does this "research" mean? How do you do it, and what kinds of prizes are offered?
It's really straight forward. You'll walk in and there will be a big button that says "Get Research" or something like that, and then Larry will walk you through the area. Your first task looks something like this....
Catalog Library Mice
This envelope contains a basic research assignment that will have you capture various library mice in order to catalog them.
And then you catch mice. Easy.
Prizes? Here's one of them...
Tome of Wisdom
This magical tome contains hunting knowledge. Opening the tome bestows this wisdom upon the hunter, furthering their hunter's title and giving bonus points. The magical enchantment is so strong that a hunter may keep no more than 3 of these tomes in their inventory at any one time.

5. Is the area fun or boring? Fast or slow?
I tend to find new areas fun, irregardless of what I think of them in the future. This one is pretty simple thus far, but looking ahead, I believe it's going to include more Tower runs Goodie. And while I was there, it was going pretty fast.
Ok so I got impatient on Tier 1
If you are one of the impatient types, you might try DiGs's method of the King's Gauntlet. He could describe it better to you than what I could, but I think more or less he set a target number of potions, exp 15 Tier 6 potions, and then went back and forth between Tiers 1-5 until he had that many potions, and THEN he proceeded. Obviously you'll want to research how many potions you'll think you'll need. Also, I don't know this for sure, but I suspect you may have a lot of trouble with the Eclipse Mouse without an Ancient Box Trap. Just so you know.
ETA @ 6:05pm CDT: Just as a head's up, my husband got an assignment that requires an Ancient Spear Gun and Bamboozler Base. If you have the latter, don't sell it back. If you skipped the ASG cause you got the DDA, you might want to consider going back and getting it. It may not be required, I haven't quite gotten a complete feel of the area yet.
My tower run isn't going quite as planned. I've gotten one of my rooks, but I've also released the mystic knights (DRAT!). I've also failed to collect a library card
Still at 90%, so all isn't lost as of yet. I just PRAY that I get my library card this run

7:59 pm - Crystal Library
I sounded the Hunter's Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught a 10 oz. Crown Collector Mouse worth 1,000 points and 1,000 gold.
It does appear that the Crown Collector is a SB+ only mouse and he can be found in the Bazaar, S.S. Huntington II, and the Crystal Library. And having 80+ Silver Crowns help. So that's all of the mice once again that I'm able to get for now. Zurreal hasn't been released yet and even if he was, I have a long way to go on my assignments before I could get him.
I'm two assignments down and my current one is....
Catch 20 Mice using a Tactical trap in the Seasonal Garden
I think I can handle that.
I do have my first negative thing to say about the new area though, my husband's current assignment requires him to catch a SB+ only mouse. I've never been a big fan of requiring SB+ to progress in the game, even though they have at least added the Marketplace into the game so it's much easier to get that cheese now....
But having said that, the assignments can be smashed with a hunter's hammer if you don't like the one you were given, and you can pick a new one up in an hour.
So it looks like MouseHunt isn't working this morning. I've been trying to get on and it says it's "doing maintenance" with a picture of what I assume is a Glitchpaw Mouse (I have never seen one before). It's done that for about twenty minutes now. I hope it's back up before I have to leave for church so I can check how I'm doing since last night.
The glitchpaw graphic is a huge exploding computer. Usually, they use the lockpick mouse as their "Maintenance" mouse, although I've seen the lightning-rod mouse be used as well
At any rate, it's still down, which is too bad, because I'd really like to know how this tower run is going. Last night, I seemed to catch nothing but pawns, which was incredibly frustrating. Still missing one of my rooks, my queen, and my king (not to mention my library card )

It's worse for me as it's been over 24 hrs since I last blew my horn... no more hourly trap checks
Thanks FK for the tips on the new mouse.
@Nah It's probably the Lockpick, that's the only one I've ever seen them use.
@Digs I hope your tower run goes better. (and yes I had to start from scratch )

Someone will probably double post at the same time as me. But the game is up and running again. I haven't seen what the maintenance was all about, but hopefully things are running smoothly again.
So I am one mouse away from finishing up part 1 of my current assignment. I'll be curious to see what the next part is.
@Nah It's probably the Lockpick, that's the only one I've ever seen them use.
No, they have three. The Glitchpaw (when something explodes ), the Lightning Fork (when their servers are slow), and the Lockpick (when they're doing maintenance).
I do suspect based on a 5 hour unscheduled maintenance that they may release some Glitchpaw Mice.
ETA: Yup
We've managed to track down the location of those pesky Glitchpaw Mice! Thanks for your patience during the recent server maintenance.
Glitchpaw Mice are now on the loose across the Kingdom with unique loot depending on where you catch one!

YAY!!!!! Glitchpaws! *also for the fact I can hunt now* Huzzahh!

Sweet, I've never caught one! I hope I do this time. How long do they normally stick around for?
I just caught my first Assassin Mouse which is awesome because it's worth 3,400 gold! I need that because I just made a cheese run and bought 100,000 pieces of gold worth of Brie. I need to build up gold again.
I always go back to the Town of Gnawnia to get Brie because it's only 200 there instead of 300 everywhere else (as far as I've found, is there anywhere else that it's 200?). And because I always buy several hundred Brie at a time, it saves me lots of gold buying it at the cheaper price and factoring in travel costs instead of buying it for 300. However, I forgot to use Larry's Travel to get back to the Meadow and then travel to the Town so I used an extra 3,000 some gold that I didn't have to use. So I'm kind of mad at myself right now.
I'm at 84% on my way to Legendary. So close! I still can't believe how fast it's going since I hit Dojo! Once I hit Legendary I can send people Stale SuperBrie when it's the gift of the day.
Narnian At Heart, I don't know whether you have access to the mousoleum yet, but it's a much better place to get gold than the Town of Gnawnia. Heck, just about anywhere is better than that place . You do need a shadow trap to hunt in there, but hey.
Ah yes, Glitchpaw mice, my old friends! Do they ever invade the Seasonal Garden or the Tower?
Speaking of the tower, my run isn't going the best. I'm up to my Queens on the Technic side, but have also released my rooks on the Mystic side. My amplifier sits at 41%. Is a double run possible at this point?
Either way. . . . . . . . . I GOT MY LIBRARY CARD!
Can I get a "woot-woot"

Congrats Digs!
I've given up on attracting the Crown mouse at the moment. I'm back working on my third library assignment. Good thing it was Spring. Should make the 30 mice I need to catch in the Garden much easier.
