I'm convinced that the mystic mice have a conspiracy theory for the overthrowing of Gnawnia. They have found out a way to elude every attack I throw at them. I was close to 90% when my queen was released; now I'm down to 40%, and I can see myself really struggling to nab a queen. Even if I do nab one, the chances of attracting a king in time is going to require a bit of luck.

I third the suggestion of saving up for the Swiss Army Mouse Trap. You could really use that one first.
The next trap I would buy is the Sinister Portal Trap so you can get into the Mousoleum and make lots of gold.
Third trap is the Venus Mouse Trap.

I see you're using Cherry Cheese in the Great Gnarled Tree That's a hard-to-get cheese that should only be used in the Calm Clearing to catch the Cherry Mouse. In the Great Gnarled Tree, you'll only want to use Swiss/Brie/Gnarled cheese.

I'm so bummed that you're having so much trouble AGAIN. I was really hoping you'd get your Mystic King while you were hanging out at my house, but it was not meant to be. Crossing my fingers you'll get your Queen and King back to back! (I have seen it happen)

Yep, but I plan on converting at least most of my cheddar (of which I still have 269) before moving on to Tier 4... (and I'm leaving today for most of the week, so I'll miss out on this week's chances.) I'm currently up to 9 Tier 3 Potions and up past 30 stale cheese, which I've been getting in Tier 1.

I have 24 pieces so far, DiGs. I'm probably going to have 40-50 when I'm done, depending on my seed drops.

Well I broke a new record today for myself. I cleared Wave 1 in about 13 hours. Usually it takes me a day and a half! It was absolutely crazy fast. First I caught a Commander Mouse on a 7 streak, and then I ... pretty much caught everything. I hope this keeps up so Waves 2 and 3 go just as fast, but knowing my luck now I'll have a worse couple waves than usual.

I also got my most recent set of Papyrus and my total is now up to 32.

I know a few of you have acquired several new traps recently so congrats to all of you if you are one of those!!

Yes, many thanks for the metal fantasia. I've gone ahead and purchased the blueprints for the Sphynx and the Monstrobot. The only thing I lack for those traps now are the loot drops. I'm also building a small stash of ionized salt with the intention of going back to the catacombs/forbidden grove at some point for a change of pace. I've got more than enough stale cheese.

I got the last piece for my Ancient Box Trap earlier this morning and since I had 144 Ancient potions and 19 Runic potions I decided to try and catch an Acolyte Mouse. The Forbidden Grove just closed so we'll see how this goes.

Might I point out to you, in case you haven't seen this yet, there is a much cheaper way to get Ancient and Runic Cheese. Provided, of course, that you have a stash of stale cheese sitting around.

Woo Hoo! Conga rats Ram! It also wouldn't hurt for you to start hunting on the first tier of the gauntlet. It never hurts to get new mice, and getting as many tier 2 potions as possible is never a bad idea . Keep us posted!!!

I actually finished my tower run on my way back from the mod moot. I finally had a run that ended successfully! So I'm back in the garden, where it is now summer. Rather than waste cheese in fall, I'll probably head back to the catacombs to farm gold and return in Spring.

Most of this thread is either bragging about our achievements or offering advice.... finding bits and pieces that are helpful to you now may be a bit difficult. Though you might find the first post of the old thread interesting.

It also wouldn't hurt for you to start hunting on the first tier of the gauntlet.

Might be kind of difficult as she can't get there for a whole 'nother level.
But even so, I'm not sure hitting the Gauntlet this early in the game is the best strategy. First you have to catch a Burglar Mouse (rare) and get some Gilded Cheese. Then you have to successfully catch a Master Burglar from the Town of Gnawnia (rarer) to get the Crown Jewel. THEN you have to shell out 50,000g to get the map piece in the Harbor, and that's a large chunk of change this early in the game... I dunno, I usually recommend coming back to the Tower later.

That being said, my latest amplifier filling spree has been going well. Summer isn't usually this nice to me, but I'm almost up to 120%. Fall doesn't start until the wee hours of Sunday morning; I'm hoping to be filled up by then. Then it'll be a quick bout of travelling (hopping over to the bazaar to buy some ionized salt so that I can make some checkmate cheese followed by another gouda run) before heading back into the tower. I think I'm getting the hang of this now

Question for the upper ups, though: How much checkmate cheese will I use throughout this game?

Digs, I think I ended up running through 20 pieces or so. Maybe 20-40. fantasia might be able to give a more accurate guess. I tried to run the gauntlet several times.

Well my first round of cheese crafting was the recipe with SuperBrie (makes 9 pieces, right?) and I got the guy on my 6th piece or so? Not everyone catches the Chess Master quite THAT easily cause just catching the King can sometimes use up all of your Checkmate cheese. But you have to do minimum 3 runs on each side of the tower for the Spellbook base, and I haven't seen anyone not get him within those 6 runs.
