I just need 128 more firecrackers, so I'll hopefully be "done" by midnight tomorrow... and then hopefully I'll be at Ronza's shop.

On the off chance, we need fireworks charms for something with Ronza (which I doubt, but just in case) I'm back to hunting in the Chinese New Year event. I did spend some good time in the Market and picked up a couple more papyri. I'm up to 43.
I am FED UP with this event. I farmed firecracker charms until I had 100. Then, I used about 70 collecting Nitropop potions. I made 21 Nitropop charms and armed them along with two leftover Nitropop charms that I had making my total 23. Now, out of 22 charms (19 of which were armed with SB+) I got a grand total of ONE Dragon's Breath potion. And that was on the second to the last Nitropop charm (the very last one I used with that Dragon's Breath potion to make a Dragon charm). I am very very frustrated and am getting nowhere fast. I have three Dragon's Breath charms right now. I was hoping to build up a stock of at least seven or eight before arming them. I think I'd have better luck if I had a bunch rather than using just one at a time.
So now, I have to go back to farming Nitropop potions and I only have 21 Firecracker charms.
How many Dragon's Breath charms did it take you guys to get the Costumed Dragon mouse and get him to drop the Dragon's Seal?

4 for me. I'm pretty sure that the dragon's seal is a 100% loot drop, so you only need one of them.
I've made it to 3.920 million. Probably reach 4 million sometime tomorrow.
Sleep well my faithful hunters, for Ronza comes in the morning. . .

nah, It took me 6, and FK told me she averaged 6. I used the Big Boom trap with the Gingerbread base, and my drop rates drastically improved...
@Digs they're waiting til the very last minute (New that was gonna happen as soon as she read his post about that )
I love how as you stockpile charms, more and more fill the box in the HUD thingy.

Yeah, I was finding the drop rate pretty consistent through the whole thing. About 1 potion drop/Dragon mouse caught to every 6 charms used. I think I figured that one Costumed Dragon would require at most, 216 Firecracker charms. I don't think anyone actually needed that many... that was the high end. I think I used maybe 120-150? to get the Costumed Dragon but that was stockpiling and I caught one on my second piece of cheese.
And yeah, like DiGs said, the Dragon's Seal is 100% drop.
Just to let everyone know, unless you already have all four masks, I sent everyone at least one mask they didn't have already tonight.
Looking forward to seeing what Ronza has tomorrow!!
Hopefully someone will post between this post and my previous post, but if not, Ronza deserves a double post.
RONZA HAS ARRIVED!!!
Well, I'm looking through the goodies and I'm giving a big thumbs up to the Dragon Jade Base! More power than the Magma Base, less attraction, and an equal amount of luck. And it's not super stale, so it is just a touch better. Everyone who has caught the Costumed Dragon Mouse should be able to afford it.
Next item I see is the Chrome Rhinobot (DiGs, I believe you called it exactly so kudos to you!! ). Disappointing to me because it is not as good as the Monstrobot so I'm passing on it. But for those without the Monstrobot (everyone but me and Kat) it's a big upgrade. So if you can afford it, get it. It's on par with the Sandtail Sentinel.
The Warpath Thrasher I'm thinking about and definitely leaning towards. That bonus power and luck is crazy.
Chrome Tacky Glue Trap I will probably get because it's cheap and hilarious.
As far as the charms go, I'll probably get a few Mining Charms for Digby Dirt Dweller tournaments. And those Tarnished Charms intrigue me greatly.
Cool!
ETA: If you do not have the Rockstar Mouse yet, he can be caught at Ronza's place with Rockforth Cheese! Rockforth drops off of the regular mice at Ronza's.

I picked up the bases, some of the charms, and I'm also torn about the Warpath Thrasher. I'm thinking I may stay in the area and gather about 10-15 pieces of Rockforth and go after another Rockstar or two. We shall see.
I wanted to add that for those of you who are close to being able to afford the Chrome Rhinobot, but not quite there, I am willing to help fund it to make sure everyone gets one. It's a super good trap and I'd hate to see people miss out.
I've purchased everything except the chrome tacky glue trap (Which I won't buy). I really want to buy the thrasher, but could only afford one of them. I figured that a good physical trap that will help me throughout the warpath (rather than the beginning) and in Muridae market as well, won out over just a warpath trap.
Again, I still REALLY want to buy that thrasher, and depending on how long Ronza stays, I may be able to get it.
Question: Is the Dragon Jade base better than the spellbook base? When using the Jade base with my Chrome Rhinobot, I'm gaining 3 luck (for a total of 44 luck), but I'm sacrificing 500 power.

Well FK, problem is I'm a good Million behind it... and I doubt you'd want to donate that much (I really want both , but definitely can't afford both ) The Warpath Thrasher looks cool, but is substandard to the highest trap I have now, so I probably won't get it until later if at all...
Hopefully I'll get my Rockforth mouse soon... I saved 5 pieces from her last visit, til I'd have a better trap... and now I have a very suitable trap
I got both bases... (Note if you want both you'll have to buy two jade bases, because one is used in making the Drogon's Jade Base.) And I bought the chrome tacky glue trap... cuz it looked cool
Edit: wow the Dragon's Jade Base is actually Luckier and more powerful than the Candy Cane Base... I like it!

I'm saying yes. The Magma Base is still better than the Spellbook Base most of the time (there are a few exceptions) and the Jade Dragon Base has more power than the Magma Base, so there's the logic I'm using.
I believe that the Golden Tournament Base is now the best one in the game, and the Jade Dragon Base looks like a close second but I have not seen any official numbers to back that up.

*nods* We'll see.
ETA: For those wondering about the Tarnished Charm, here's what it turns into.
Chrome Charm
Power: 0
Power Bonus: 3%
Attraction Bonus: none
Luck: 5
Consumed Upon: Encountering a Mouse
Overall, I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with Ronza's visit this year.
I LIKE
-The Dragon Jade Base. It looks cool, and it's luck stats are great. Probably on par with the spellbook base.
I DISLIKE
-The prices! Ronza's lost her mind! AWESOME traps in days gone by (I'm thinking of the Chrome Drillbot and Rewers Riposte) were much more reasonably priced (897K and 604K respectively). For mid level players, the Chrome Rhinobot is awesome, (Seriously, it'll kick the snot out of the Derr Tribe!) but it costs more than the Sandtail Sentinel, and is not as good of a trap. For it to have been a "Good Ronzian Deal" I would have wanted to have seen it priced around 2.5 million.
-The variety! Last year, Ronza brought four bases (Bacon, Seasonal, Runic, Tiki). This year she brings one (technically two. . . but one is just a precursor to the other). Last year she brought three great traps (The Pneumatic Tube Trap, Rewers, and The Arcane Blast Trap). This year she brings two good traps, and one that's "Just for Kicks" to anybody who's more than an Apprentice.
-The scope of her traps. Like I said, she really offers nothing to more advanced players (apart from the possible exception of the dragon jade base). If you're a mid-level player (I'm thinking Digby Dirt Dwellers to Tribal Isles) you'll probably think that this is the best Ronza visit ever. But to anybody higher than a Baron. . . it's just "meh"
-The Charms: They seem a bit cheesy to me. It's almost like they ran out of time, and wanted Ronza to bring a bit more. I think that the devs just threw in those charms to "fill up space," so to speak.
--------------------------
So there's my "Ronza Review," so to speak. After a lack-luster Christmas event (that started very late), I expected Ronza's visit to be epic. I expected at least four new traps (2 mid grade, 2 high end) and at least four bases. I was also half expecting a new charm conduit. It's been more than a year since charms have been released, and there's still only one.
The devs dropped the ball this time round. Again, just my opinion, you can take it or leave it.

I think DiGs that you are viewing things from the perspective of the top of the pile this year whereas last year you were in the middle of the pack. I agree with you on the prices, the Chrome Rhinobot especially is too high this year. But as far as what was actually brought....
Last year she had one must-have trap (Rewers) and the bases and other traps were really underwhelming to me. This year she's brought one must-have base (Jade Dragon) and the traps, I personally think are good but overpriced. So from the perspective of actual must-have items, the year with the Chrome Drillbot and Magma Base hasn't even come close to being topped. So I found last year more disappointing than this year, but that's my own opinion.
DiGs, if I may, I think you ought to go post your feedback on the MH Forums. The developers actually value player's feedback because they seriously want to improve (unlike most other internet games where it's all about the $$$) and as long as it's useful and not just whining, they'll take it seriously. I think your argument on trap prices in particular is a good one. And your opinion, even though I don't 100% agree is perfectly valid as well.
OK, I bought the base. I have enough to buy the Warpath Thrasher or the Chrome Rhinobot. (I don't have the Rhinobot yet, I have everything but the 16 million points required for it).
Anyway, I'm not sure which one I should get.
Love God, love people
