FK, I don't think there are any Tunnelers in the Bulwark to attract, but there are in the other sections. :)

I finished my first 'Berg run and crafted my Magnet Base. I'm camped out in the Shoreline to farm Trap Parts and War Scraps. I'm hoping to have at least enough for my Mk. II and my Remote Detonator Base before starting my next run. I know I won't be able to craft them both before then (stupid BCF, not dropping left and right ;)) ) but that's my goal for now. It will probably change, as all of my MH goals inevitably do.

One more major gameplay spoiler for the new area:

Spoiler
You can only have the chance of catching the Icewing if you have the Mk. II armed and still have the Treasure Chest available. In other words, speed runs are the only way to get the Icewing. Also, the Mk. III is not improved at all over the Mk. II. It's just more durable against Icewing (i.e. she can't break it again).

Trap Part Counts: 4 Frosty Metals, 14 Heating Oils, 2 Wire Spools, and 2 Bottled Cold Fusions

Need: 13 FM, 2 HO, 21 WS, and 5 BCF (To craft my target base and trap)

Edited to update numbers.

I'm farming materials in the Slushy Shoreline. Trying to get the stuff to craft my spiked base and my Steam Laser Mk. 2.

6 Metals, 11 Oils, 9 Spools. I need 20 Metals, 25 Oils, 20 Spools.

Also need 8 Bottled Cold Fusion.

Oy. . . this is going to take a while ;))

Boy do I wish I had noticed before now that the Wax and Sticky Charms only work on the Berglings. :P Feeling slightly stupid at the moment. ;)) Ah well, now I know and I'll probably only be using Wax charms from here on out.

Just about done with the Brutal Bulwark. Looking forward to testing out the Remote Detonator Base shortly. :) I'm on track for picking up all three chests this run and I have Drill charges ready to go in case of emergencies. ;) ;))

On the subject of crafting supplies, I have everything ready to go except for Mark II except the Cold Fusion, and I'm only two metal short for the Spiked Base. No idea on the Hearthstone Base yet, but as my team and I are occasionally doing Slushy tournaments, that's a good excuse to farm crafting materials at the same time. :)

Meh. I'm feeling kind of bored right now, but that is no one's fault but my own. ;)) I should have bought the Sinister Portal first so I could at least use it while I recouped the gold and points for the VMT, but no, I bought the VMT first and I don't have enough points to arm it, so now I can't use it AND I don't have enough gold for the Portal. So I'm still in the Laboratory, since I figured I might as well be getting potions since I'm not really doing anything. :p I have close to 70, which means I don't think I'll need to worry about those for awhile, lol. Chalk it up to the rookie for making mistakes, lol!

Right now, here's my plan of action:

- Get enough gold to buy the Sinister Portal and move to the Mousoleum
OR
- Accrue enough points where I can re-assemble my VMT, at which point I'll just head back Valor and explore the Great Gnarled Tree and regions beyond.

Which ever place I end up first I'll probably stay for while. It would appear that I'm already decently set up for the Mousoleum, but it's going to cost a TON of gold to convert all those RB potions (well, not all, but at least 10 or so) and yeah, I'm going to be really broke for awhile, lol.

Is it worth it to head over to the Great Gnarled Tree now to try and collect Gnarled potions? How frequently would I be getting drops?

I was just going to suggest to you Gymmie that you go ahead and go to the GGT now with the Swiss Army/Dehydration Base setup. I haven't looked at the numbers, but it might be a better setup than the MVMT/Dehydration Base or Explosive Base. Even if it's not, it'll still work fine. Either way, if you're going for potion drops early on in the game (like the Lab and GGT) getting as much luck in your setup as possible will help. :)

By the way, you've been warned about the Mousoleum right? You're going to go in there and they'll steal the living daylights out of your gold and points. Whatever you do, don't give up and leave. If you stick it out, the mice you catch will more than compensate for the ones you don't. :)

ETA: Wrapped up the Bulwark in 92 hunts. That's 59 hunts less than my previous run. Caught at Stickybomber with the Remote Detonator Base and got propelled 20ft forward. :D I like this base... ;))

^^ Yeah, I've been warned. ;)) I hung out there for like, three hunts, but I figured that there was no point in getting completely needlessly thieved until I had a shadow trap.

Caught a couple new mice today and I'm just waiting on about 30,000 points till I can use my VMT. ;)) Btw, apparently you CAN'T upgrade to the MVMT until you have over 800,000 points which is a LONG way off for me. ;)) So I won't be bothering with that for quite a while.

In other news, I've still been collecting massive amounts of charms via people's FB pages, lol. I found one friend who must not have many friends who play MH, because her links for the Easter event SB+ and Living Essence still worked. :D Yay for me!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it is impossible to catch any of those mice (except a few) without a shadow trap. Good luck!!!

It appears the devs made I minor update and when you purchase sticky or wax charms you know longer have to open the bags to get them. They're added to your inventory automatically.

1,156 ft- hunt 215

Also I think I might craft the magnet base first.

Still farming away in the Shoreline. We are doing a Slushy tournament in the morning.

Trap Part Counts: 3 Wire Spools, 2 BCF, 8 Frosty Metals, and 15 Heating Oils
Need to meet goal: 1 HO, 5 BCF, 20 WS, and 9 FM

I haven't decided if I'll try to craft the other two bases yet. The Hearthstone is way down on my list of things to do, mostly due to its large BCF requirement.

I got my ACRONYM! :D

So, I was wondering, with Shadow Traps, is the Bottomless Grave one to buy? Or is it really... unnecessary?

I don't know anybody who used that trap. Now that you've finished with the Mousoleum there are no uses for shadow traps until you get to the Jungle of Dread, by which time you'll either have an awesome LE Halloween shadow trap, or will have bought the Gorgon trap.

In other words. . . save your gold!

Congrats, Ithy! :)

Arg, today has been the most annoying day ever, lol. I finally moved over to the Great Gnarled Tree in hopes of collecting some Gnarled Potions. I'd had NO problem at all getting RB potions in the Lab so I figured I'd have a similar amount of success. WRONG.

First of all, I can barely attract the dang mice; I went two hours with sounding the horn ever 15 and I only got one mouse, lol. And now I'm attracting them, but I'm not getting the right mice, and the few that I DID get, didn't drop the loot. I don't think I've gotten a single Gnarled potion to drop yet (the ones I do have I got via gifting).

I ignored all of y'all's sage advice and equipped luck charms anyway. :p I have over 300 due to links and I'm giving myself 25 to use to try and get *something*.

On the bright side, I finally got enough points to recraft my VMT, and thanks to that and my Dehydration base, I'm not getting stale cheese anymore! Which will definitely come in handy when I switch to using Gnarled and Wicked Gnarled, because so far that cheese is being really hard to get, lol.

So right now I'm collecting potions (well, trying anyway), waiting for the Fairy mouse and saving up my monies so I can buy my Sinister Portal! yay!

ETA: Complaining works; I just got my first Gnarled Potion to drop. ;)

Gymfan, Gnarled Potions have been rare for me too lately. It's odd, since I used to get them all the time.

Another question concerning traps. Should I be saving up for Zugzwang's Last Move? Will I need that later?

Yeah, it's weird. How many Gnarled potions should I be looking to get, anyway? I'm assuming I'm going to need around 30 once everything is said and done to seem me through for awhile, but I dunno.

Oh, for whatever it's worth, I went ahead and signed up for a Whisking through the Woods tourney since I'm going to be in the region for the next few days at least. ;)) If anyone feels like that's something they'd want to do, let me know. I'm not expecting to place but it would be fun, at the very least. :) It starts tomorrow evening, I think.

Yes. . . MUCH MUCH later. You still have to go through the Catacombs, the Forbidden Grove, the Acolyte Realm, Nerg Plains, Derr Dunes, Elub Shores, Jungle of Dread, Dracano and Balack's Cove. So. . . you'll have lots of other things to buy between now and then ;))
