That's correct Astro... most people will tell you to skip the Obselisk of Incineration, but I found it was definitely advantageous to the Obselisk of Slumber... however you will save a ton of gold if you do... It's your choice really

@Wolf that's exactly how I'll do it then. I need to save what gold I can...

Also, leaving the area doesn't reset your progress in the 'Berg, FYI.

After not realizing the Slushy Shoreline and the Iceberg were two different places and wasting two wax charms in the SS before figuring it out, I am finally in the Iceberg. It sounds really fun! I bought all the blueprints and will now have to figure out how to craft them.
I also noticed that it's no longer the SS Huntington II but the SS Huntington III and the ship on the map has a reinforced hull. That's kind of cool.
Also Digs you may want to consider getting the new trap because currently I have 300 more power than you with the power bonus... and your bonus would likely be even larger given your base has more power than mine... Though you'll have less luck
I actually had it, but for some reason when I equipped it when I entered the area, the power bonus wasn't there, and I thought "Well, maybe you'll require Mk. 2 in order to get the power bonus in here."
Don't know whether I want to use OWN or the Steam Mk. 1, just because the OWN has a 10% higher attraction bonus.
I was honestly thinking that OWN would be much better than any trap this area had to offer. First we have a Baron level trap that's pretty much worthless (I mean seriously, aside from this area, there are only two other areas in the game where a hydro trap is required. . . . and one of them is a tier in the gauntlet ), then we're TOLD that "Baron+'s should DEFINITELY head over to the warpath to get an Oasis Bead," and yet the Steam Mk. 1 is just as good (if not better). I am disappointed thus far (Only with traps. . . cuz the content is pretty amazing)

@Digs that's odd... have you armed it since?

@Digs I've been looking on the forums and apparently others had the same trap bug that you did... the devs are working on a fix... EDIT: and has been fixed /edit
Also are you using sticky charms or wax charms?

I think my strategy is going to be like this:

I can officially confirm your progress does NOT reset if you leave the Iceberg... at least it didn't for me... I don't suggest hitting the Retreat button unless you want it to though

I haven't really read through much of other people's posts though it looks like the same stream of thought that I've had. I know there's a jpg floating around of the full HUD and I've been avoiding that cause I want to be surprised.
I arrived at the new area yesterday, caught one mouse, and then had a HORRIBLE streak of bad luck. I thought for sure I must have the wrong trap setup, but I went and looked and everyone else's profiles and you all had the same setup I did. But after two or three hours of nothing I started catching mice again. I suspect you all are far ahead of me.
Progress....

I now have a complete list of stats for the mice in the Tunnels. As soon as someone gets into the Bulwark, I'll start taking stats again.
255 ft, Hunt #34, Tunnels
Tunnel Rats: Chipper, Icebreaker - each advances you 16 ft regardless of Wax charms, and will not push you back if you miss
Invaders: Snow Soldier (5 w/wax, 4w/out, -4 miss), Snow Slinger (9, 8, -4), Polar Bear (9, 8, -4), Incompetent Ice Climber (5, 4, -4)
The Tunnels end around 300 feet, at which point the hunter is faced with a General mouse who must be defeated or drilled past to continue.

Has anybody seen the recipe for the new bases? I really want the spike base, because it seems to negate getting pushed backwards (which would eliminate the need for those sticky charms). The hearthstone base also seems really cool. . . the other two. . . have to wait and see stats.

DiGs, no recipes have been discovered yet, but
Also, no recipe for the Steam Laser Upgrades have been found yet. Likely, they will require drops from the Icewing's Lair.
