malkah, congrats on building your ship!! In regards to which trap to use, I had more luck with the Harpoon Gun, but the cool thing about those two traps, is that if you get the Net Cannon first and don't like it, you can smash it and immediately recraft the parts and get the Gun instead. So I'd start out with the Net Cannon.

And is 200 pieces of Brie enough to get through the area, since the travel cost is so insane?

I should think so. And if you think the travel cost to the ship is insane, wait til you get to the Seasonal Garden and Zugzwang's Tower.

I'm almost getting my trap MK1, sounds interesting, people are saying maybe it'll be upgraded, but personally, I think it's a mediocre trap, around the same as HB

You're right, it is, until you arm it in the Slushy Shoreline and the bonus of using it there puts it on par with the Oasis. I've certainly been impressed with it.

Nope, but since you're a trap collector, you might look into the Obvious Ambush Trap that you got the trap part for. Supposedly it's better for technic runs but I never had much luck with it.

Don't spend your gold until you have to. I know you're at the point where you feel like you're finally saving up a ton of gold, but once you hit Legendary, you will suddenly find yourself very broke again due to the amount of traps and bases you'll want to buy. For now, if I were you, I'd set my sights on the crafting materials you'll need for the cheeses and the Ambush Trap. The Bamboozler Base you can either take or leave, it's up to you. But you'll have access to better bases very soon.

This is one of those tricky little things about the game that you have to watch out for. Yes, you will get thieved... a LOT. BUT, when you do catch a mouse, it will get you far more gold and points that you had stolen from you and you will make a good deal more profit in the Cats than any other location in the game.... with maybe the exception of the Mousoleum. But I would still go with the Cats to collect more scrap metals (you'll eventually need 200 for a base).

Congrats on your small handful of Cyclops Mice. I think you have more than enough potions to catch a Cherry Mouse (he's easy) provided you use SB+. If you go with whatever other cheese the potion requires, then you may want a couple more.

As I was out of town over the weekend, I went ahead and spent my time in the monotonous Slushy Shoreline. I am up to....

I've actually been hunting since last night without Softserve charms armed in hopes of Silver Crowning the Incompetent Ice Climber, but he's being shy. I did get a Silver on the Polar Bear Mouse though and I'm also really close on the Snow Soldier.
But I may head back to the Warpath for a little while now, unless they release another mini-update today. Not sure if they will or not since we're getting close to finishing the hull. Guess we'll see.

ETA: Speaking of sneaky updates, I just noticed one that I sure don't remember being here before. At least not in this format. It now tells you how many of something you own when you go to buy something in a store. Here's a screenshot and I circled it.

Something else that I just noticed that probably was uploaded with the last update of the new area, the four bases are on our profiles now under the "Uncollected" section, so if you want to see the sneak peek profile shot, you can.

Well, I went through two potions worth of Cherry Cheese (16 pieces) and no Cherry Mouse. I got two more potions though, but I lack the SB+ to convert them at the moment. And you get so fewer pieces using Brie that I don't want to risk it. I'll probably hang onto these for awhile and come back to the Cherry Mouse a little later.

Headed over to the Mountain and I'm going to camp out for awhile, although I may head back to the Calm Clearing later today for the duration of my Journeyman stay...the drop rate for Splintered Wood there seemed higher and the mice seemed to be higher rated. But we'll see. I need gold, so...

I am dying, absolutely dying to take a real crack at the Master Burglar so I can get the Crown Jewel but I know it would be pretty dumb at this point. I only have three pieces of guided cheese and a couple of SB+ and my trap is still pretty rudimentary. Patience is a virtue but I don't have much, and I think this will be my undoing.

Anyway, I hate having unfinished business. I don't really like to move on till it's all complete but practically it's better to wait.

Oh well. If I get an influx of SB+ and I'm feeling lucky I may just try for it anyway.

Took a break from my SG tourney until Fall

I cleared the first wave on the warpath. I even caught another Garg and a Commander (on a streak of zero, with no charm armed and 11 Warrior mice left ).

I'm taking a break from the Warpath to rebuild the General Store in the Market. I have 7 Limestone and 27 Timber so far. Still using DiGs' strategy of hunting with SB+ to attract more supplies-carrying mice. Not working quite as well this time, but I'm rounding out my mice in this area. Still missing the Glass Blower, Snake Charmer, and Desert Nomad (not counting the Artisan mice because I can't even attract them until I get the Charm Shoppe rebuilt).

Edit: Just caught a Snake Charmer on the Horn.

That's the thing, though. The catches weren't making up for the losses. The longer I stayed in the Cats, the poorer I became over time. I'm doing a Tourney in the Mausoleum and finally making gold again. Is it okay to stay there until I have enough gold to get my ACRONYM; and then, after I get the ACRONYM, go hunt in the Cats for scrap metal?

Actually, I play for 14 hours every day. I've just had really bad luck the past few weeks. Back when I was at the Harbour and Mountain, etc., I was able to get 100K pretty quickly too.

Well, I noticed it was spring in the Seasonal Garden so I bounced over there after snagging an assignment from the Crystal Library. So far so good. Hoping to get the assignment done and amplifier filled quickly!

Looks like we're gonna miss out on tourney tokens this time Ah well there's always other tourney's. I'm gonna hit the Catacombs for a while... Anyone on my team or anyone who wants to join my team just let me know if you guys want help in another tourney.

@Ithy, I remember I never made the gazillions of gold that everyone else did until I got ACRONYM... but I still made a profit. Are you using an Arcane trap or a Shadow trap? I've found that Shadow traps just aren't sufficient there. You need either the Obselisk of Slumber or the Obselisk of Incineration... The later is slightly better than the first, but can be skipped until you get Acronym. This may save you gold.

Edit: Also Ithy, have you tried traveling out of the area then traveling back? Sometimes it seems to me like MouseHunt glitches and I get a really bad mouseless streak in a really good or fairly easy area... I find however that streak ends if I travel out then back.

Secondly, do not use ancient potions! You can either craft Ancient cheese or use RB cheese... but Ancient potions are enormously expensive and should only be used if you're after runes in the Forbidden Grove and ran out of cheese.

Sorry, wolfy. I took a nap and slept way later than I intended to. That's what I get for not paying attention to the tourney starting time.

And apologies from me Wolf. I seemed to only catch low point mice this time around. We''ll get tokens next time around.

Edit: Crafted my Ambush and started repairing my Mousoleum map piece. Buy the time that's done, I should be at Legendary.

No apologizing! If anyone's to blame it's me I took longer at the dinner table than I meant so I missed the last hour... didn't catch any high pointers either. Like I said though... We'll manage next time.

The good news is I'm catching Skeleton Mice and the bad news is I'm catching Skeleton mice Why is it the mouse I need is so low in value? I've caught 467 as of now.

Also I'm open to doing tourneys in just about any location up to Lord/Lady level at this point... unless I'm doing a tower run or participating in an event... but I'll let you guys know if that's the case.

Currently in Muridae Market with Chromebot/Djb/Brie, and I must say, it is insanely boring. Got my Desert Architect already, and I like my SB+ at a round figure (130)
