I have now caught all of the Iceberg Mice except for the Wolfskie and the Snow Bowler. I have 16 War Scraps, 4 Hull Fragments, 2 Wire Spools, 2 Frosty Metals, and 1 Heating Oil. I have been using Brie and the attraction rate has been very high. I think I've only had 3 FTA/Stale since last night. My catch rate hasn't always matched that, but the OWN is doing much better than the DDA did. I'll probably stick around in the Shoreline at least long enough to get the new trap and a few extra of each trap part so that when the bases are released I won't be too far behind in farming for them. I'll likely bounce around between here and the Sandtail areas over the next few weeks.

I wonder if the Hull Fragments will be required for something else later, or will they just appear as a collectible/be taken out of our inventory once the upgrade to the S.S. Huntington II is finished?

I wish the parts for the new trap could be traded. I noticed Kat mentioned elsewhere that she's short on Wire Spools. I can't seem to get anything but Wire Spools. :)) Current tally....

13 Wire Spools
8 Heating Oil
3 Frosty Metal
90 War Scraps
20 Hull Fragments

C'mon Yeti mice!

I wonder if the Hull Fragments will be required for something else later, or will they just appear as a collectible/be taken out of our inventory once the upgrade to the S.S. Huntington II is finished?

I've been thinking about that. My current hypothesis is that we'll actually trade these in to upgrade our own Huntington. Otherwise for the people who were unable to/didn't participate in this pseudo-event won't have any reason whatsoever to hunt in the Slushy Shoreline. Unless the Slushy Shoreline turns out to be one of those Shoppe Towns.

22% of the Hull Fragments have been collected overall. Looks like we're still on track for DiGs's estimated Thursday-of-next-week opening. :)

The new mouse dropped my 5th wire spool. Bought the new trap. Time to take it for a spin and see what happens. :)

Had the exact same thing happen to me that happened to Kat. ;)) Caught the new mouse with my first piece of SB+ and got my final Frosty Metal. Bought and equipped the new trap. Getting ready to start a Slushy tournament so hopefully we'll do good. :)

But I wanted to drop by and post the stats for people so they can see how the Mk. 1 compares to the Oasis in the Slush cause the Mk. 1 does get a big boost here.

Steam Laser Mk. 1
Power 8,057
Luck 32
Attraction 10%

Oasis
Power 7,366
Luck 35
Attraction 20%

So I'm guessing that the catch rates will be about the same with a slight edge to the Oasis when you include attraction. I'm also assuming based on the artwork that this trap will be upgraded in the future.

I just noticed something; wire spools, buckets (or cartons or whatever) of oil, and frosty metals are all smashable. I'm guessing that it'll probably yield war scraps. . . but I'm not sure. Perhaps somebody would be willing to test it out ;))

Ooooh, nice spot there DiGs. Actually, if you click on 'Smash' it will bring up a "are you sure you want to smash ____ ?" and it will tell you what you will get out of it, then you can cancel without actually smashing.
All three of them yield 3 War Scraps.

War Scraps must be pretty valuable then, if these items can be exchanged for them. Or maybe the trap parts are useless once you're done building the trap, but still. Seems like you're going to want as MANY War Scraps as you can get your hands on coming up soon.

Gymmie, the trap parts are also going to be useful for the new Bases (based on their descriptions), but I agree. There has to be something big in the works as far as War Scraps go. Perhaps they will be exchanged for the other new charms to come.

I'm trying to catch the new SB+ mouse. Maybe it will be nice to me like it has for the other folks around here.

Edit: I was able to catch the Living Ice mouse, but it took a few pieces of SB+ to do it. I now have 3 each of Wire Spool and Heating Oil, 4 Frosty Metal, 12 Hull Fragments, and 24 War Scraps. I have caught at least one of every Iceberg mouse except the elusive Wolfskie.

Well, I'm still farming gold. :P This time I moved to the Great Gnarled Tree. The mice there only give around 500-2000 in gold per catch. The mice in the Catacombs probably give more, but my Obelisk of Slumber doesn't seem to catch them, and I get thieved more often than I catch. :P

I got the SB+mouse on my first attempt... now working toward the trap... Which has better stats anyways? It or the Heat Bath? I'm assuming the heat bath, but I am a *coughtrapcollectorcough*

Edit: actually it appears this is both more powerful and potentially cheaper... I might temporarily forego the heatbath then...

Armed SB+ earlier to get the new mouse. I attracted it the first hunt but didn't catch it so I left for awhile. Came back later to find that I had caught a mouse but the only thing working on my page was the horn. I've reported the bug, but I am rather annoyed that Mousehunt decided to bug out on me when I had SB+ armed.

@Dot, have you tried whichever site you're not using at the moment? Alternatively, you could try switching browsers.

In the market news: SB+ prices have spiked a little likely due to the new mouse. Currently it's selling for between 7,000 and 7,500. Though I haven't been monitoring it as closely, I'm guessing Maki received a small spike as well. Currently it sits between 7,000 and 8,000g. Moon cheese however, being unsmashable remains between 2,250 and 3,000 g. (I feel like a stock market reporter). Simple orb prices have dropped slightly in the past few days from a 2,800g minumum to a 2,700 g minimum.

In other news I've collected all the frosty metal I need, just woring on the other two and the gold in order to buy that trap.

You sound like one too. :p ... and I want to sell some of my flawless orbs, but I'm not going to go under my price of 3000 each. I'll wait for a spike. :p

I've almost saved up enough for the Venus Mousetrap. Should I buy that, or is there something more useful at a comparable price? 300,000 is a lot of gold (at least for me) to spend...

I advise people to buy the Sinister Portal first, but if you've already gotten that (I honestly cannot remember) then go right ahead and buy it. You'll definitely be needing it soon.

Have the Sinister Portal and have been farming gold in the Mouseoleum. I assume the VMT is the only tactical trap I'll be able to acquire for a while?
