-the new area is going to be an icy/snowy area
-they would not give out any further info on what ranks will or will not be able to access the new area
-they did not give us a time frame for when it would be open

I get confused by some posts, because it sounds sometimes like some of you know the makers of the game... do you? I remember a time when it sounded like FK attended a meeting of some kind where the game makers gave a glimpse of stuff they were working on or something...

Who is Jacob?

Jacob is the head artist (I think) for Mousehunt. He's more or less drawn all of the mice and traps in the games.

The "Secret Inside Meetings" you think we're talking about is called "Feedback Friday." It's kind of an online videochat that the devs do as a courtesy to their fans every Friday. Anybody can watch and get to know the devs

Yes, that is exactly what it is Ithil.

FBF stands for Feedback Friday and the developers host it every Friday at 11am Eastern (their time). They are on live video and the rest of us are on chat, they answer questions that we ask and we answer questions they ask. On the last Friday of each month, Jacob, the primary artist for Mousehunt, does an art FBF where he does a live painting while everyone watches and gives feedback. It's really cool cause you get to know the guys and gals behind the game. And in turn they get to know their players and find out what we like and dislike so they can tweak the game to our tastes.

RaMa, I did post the spoilers a few posts back, but your review is much more concise.

My team is setup and ready to go on a 2day Warpath Marching tournament starting tomorrow. I hope it goes well! We're all ready with our highest point mice ready to crush the tournament standings! Of course we also sleep so the top three place are out of the question, but I'd love a top 25%.

wil, yeah, if you're not using charms which not only help you catch mice in streaks, but also catch the mice, it's pretty painful to get through the waves. I'm not surprised your having trouble, but hopefully you're making lots of gold?
Oh, and it was pretty funny yesterday when Jacob was doing the live drawing of the new mouse cause for a while he had it holding the Ancient Spear and everyone was like "Oh!! The new area will require a Hydro trap!!!" and the price of Oasis Beads on the Marketplace skyrocketed.

I am, it's true, but.... I don't have anything else I can do in the game right now. I've caught all of the mice, I have all of the best traps, the only thing I can really do besides tournaments is keep running the Warpath in hopes of getting trap parts to drop for my friends. And based on the fact I have gold crowns on almost all those mice, it's getting a little tedious. Once the new area is released I'll probably slow down on tournaments for a while.

I finally got the Tenic Pawn Pincher... Of course I also went into the Tower with about 45 pieces of cheese... I had wanted more than that, but I was nearly broke...

I got that one part of my assignment done... the next part is to catch

I am currently hunting a Summer Mage Mouse to finish off my latest assignment. Usually he's not this hard to get. I've attracted one since I started the assignment but he eluded me. I am slowly creeping up on Baron. I am currently at 96.37%. Once I finish this assignment, I'll probably hit the Library for a bit. I am hoping to reach Baron by Monday morning or so. Fiery Warpath, here I come!

ETA: I caught the Summer Mage on the next horn after I posted. Sitting in the Library working on a Library Mice assignment. 97.02% Baron.

I took another look at the spoilers and I'm very intrigued as to what these two mice will be especially:

The second one's scarf reminds me of Tumnus' and it seems to be the same idea as the frozen mouse. The first one... I don't know what it is... a long-necked polar bear mouse? A yeti mouse? Not a clue but it looks cool. So excited this is gonna have a frozen theme... I hope I can hunt there when it's released.

Still waiting on a couple of Infiltrator mice for my Library assignment. I've switched to a Tactical setup in the hope that I'll catch them (missed two overnight with my Crobot ). (As I was typing this post I caught one on a trap check! ) I'm at 97.97% Baron. Not sure how much longer it will take me. Sometimes I shoot right along and other times I am just plodding.

starkat, Lady Arwen, Aravanna and I are participating in a Mousoleum tourney this afternoon. I hope maybe a few Monster mice will kick me up a little closer to Baron.

The amount that you level is directly proportional to the difficulty of mice that you're catching based on your rank. The fastest you'll fly upwards, stwin, is when you're doing Tower runs cause those rooks, queens, and kings are worth a lot. But I swear those last few percent of a level take twice as many mice.

Our tournament is going very well. We were solidly in the top 10% all day yesterday and then overnight we slipped to just barely below the top 25% (which is awesome, a lot of times we'll fall out of the top 50%). We'll push back up into the top 25% quickly.
I've been overly conservative with my hunting just because I don't want to run out of the mice that are worth more points, so I've been disarming my cheese for hourly trap checks, disarming my cheese overnight, switching charms around so I don't get streaks of mice... Yep, I'm a dork. But a top 25% would be worth a whole lot of tokens. A top 10% would be crazy.

On a non-tournament note, I've been pondering if there's anything I should be doing to prepare for the new area. I've been looking through the traps to see if maybe I should at the very least collect materials to build all of them (like all of the parts for the Rhinobot and Enraged Rhinobot). But honestly I'm so loaded up on most everything that even if I do have to go farm supplies, it won't take me too long. Just trying to think of things to do.

It really sucks that I gave my OB away...yeah, I saw the price skyrocket and was pretty dissed.
On the account of money, I'm not making that much, a substantial amount yes, but not a lot, I make around 1 million a week? But then that includes the cheese cost and charm cost, I think a bit less, but I must say, it's not really worth it cause it's really tedious.
Wondering what the new area is, should be interesting
