Camping out in Muridae Market until then. I'd LOVE to finish the Cartographer today.

I'm not sure if this actually applies to anyone who reads this thread, but I'll go ahead and say it anyways since DiGs reminded me... ;)) If you haven't rebuilt the Cartographer and repaired the map piece for the Living Garden yet, you ought to do so soon. I'm 99.9% sure that the new are is NOT going to be the Living Garden, but it's going to come soon afterwards and as the one spoiler they've given out on this area is that it's going to require team effort, the more people that can get in right away, the better. :D

So I'm just going to use my ZFM for my first run.

I took a peek at your profile and for not having a Pawn trap, you're doing remarkably well. 7 Mystic Pawns and 2 Technic Pawns is good enough for a full Mystic run provided your luck keeps up. :D

I wonder if there will be another epic trap at the end of this new area!

I've been thinking about this, and I'm going to guess there won't be any new physical, tactical, hydro, or shadow traps UNLESS they are direct upgrades of the traps in the Warpath/Market. Those traps are so epic and awesome and hard to get, I think they'll keep them as the best traps for a while still.
If we do get a new trap, I'm putting my money on an Arcane or Draconic trap. I guess there's Forgotten too.
I personally would like to see a new base that's finally better than the Magma Base. Depending on where you're hunting, the Spellbook and Dragon Jade bases can be better, but the Magma still rules. The Golden Tournament Base paired with Champion's Charms is the best, but not everyone has a hardcore group ymwhisle to do tournaments with all the time.

There's a Tribal Isle Grand Tournament tomorrow starting at 11 (and lasting for 18 hours!). That tournament has been (by far) my favourite tournament to date.

Really? It's probably my least favorite. :)) But I'm not a Jungle of Dread fan. ;)) It's not the low catch rate, it's the cheese farming I don't like. :P

For the first time in a VERY long time I'm the only person on my team NOT doing a tournament today. :))
Kat, Lady A, and stwin are doing a 2-day 3-person Tower tourny that started this morning and DiGs, RaMa, Ara, and my sister-in-law are doing the Whisker Woods tourny tonight. Good luck everybody!!!! :D

So in the meantime, I'm rocking the Warpath. Got a streak of 6 scouts and obliterated the lines of mice by catching a Commander. I'm up to a streak of 5 right now and hoping to catch a 2nd commander. Here's hoping I can get the scouts and warriors cleared out today and by the end of tomorrow I'll be in position to bring in some serious points in a Warpath tournament. :D
ETA: Got him. That's it on the Commander Charms for me. I want some Artillery and Mage Mice left. ;))

I just hit the 25 million point mark!!! Woo Hoo!!! :D And 64% toward Lady!!!!!!!
I think Balack's Cove is my favorite area! ;)) Although, only for points, not for gold.
If I stick around here, I'll be a Lady before July 31st--my 1 year anniversary on MH!!! :D

I don't know how many times I've done something stupid like that :)). Sorry. Out of curiosity, how much did you get for your dragon's breath ACRONYM skin?

270k. There were cheaper ones in the marketplace (as low as 200k, I think) so I just put mine about in the middle of the spread of prices on there. I figured eventually the lower priced ones would sell and then mine would sell and about two days later, it did. Now, the prices are higher in there. The lowest is 268k now. Maybe I should have waited a little longer and priced it higher. :-s Oh well.

Congrats on 25 mil, ramagut!

Haven't seen one of these guys for a while....

2:37 pm - Fiery Warpath
I sounded the Hunter's Horn, but my efforts were fruitless. A Mobster Mouse ate a piece of cheese without setting off my trap.

He broke my streak. :(( :P ;)

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that, FK! Wow!

I caught a hydra mouse in the tournament (which isn't going very well :( ), and it dropped a set of ship blueprints. I was hoping to get a good price for those selling them in the catacombs (because they cost 750K in there!) but I only got 6K. . . after traveling there and back. . . I lost 10 gold :P

I got a bronze for the Stonework Warrior. I'm back in Dracano hoping for at least one more Bronze... preferably the dragon (preferably both but I only have six pieces of cheese, that would require that I only have 1 FTC... highly unlikely.)

Also hoping I get the rest of the gold I need tonight.

Currently I have:

1 Gold Crown
41 Silver Crowns
169 Bronze Crowns
103 mice I have caught but yet to earn a crown for
52 mice I have yet to catch

*puts away calculator* I like farming crowns... my goal is to eventually get a gold for every mouse in the game... doubt it'll happen anytime soon, so I'm taking baby steps :P- aim for certain mice (ex the eclipse, dragon, the kings, the SG SB+ mice)

So when should I give up on this run? I'm trying to get my second Mystic Rook right now and I'm down to 80% on my amplifier.

EDIT: So I caught my second Rook and I'm down to 68%. Any chance I can still get the Queen and King?

NAH, usually I don't give up until I'm down to 30% or less. It's nearly impossible to get to the Queen before 70% for Lord/Lady. Keep trying!

I'm still working on my Bishops in the tourney. I'm at 97% amplifier and 91.94% Baron. :) I hope I can get my Queen before too long. I want to go for a Chess Master and get another Scholar Charm.

Whew, a gold crown for every mouse in the game. I wish you luck wolf, that's a lofty goal. ;)) :D

n_a_h, yes, it's definitely possible to get both the Queen and King with 68% left. Technically, you can still catch mice in there with 1% amplifier left... though I would lose patience and leave before then. ;)) I think 20% was where I'd throw in the towel but it really depends on how many mice you have left and how much cheese and charms you're willing to let go of to try to finish. Right now you're still in good shape.

Well, I don't have too much to report. I'm doing a short Indigenous tournament later today, should be fun. wolf, I sent some invites to your team (except for n_a_h) in case you guys want to do it as well. :D 1pm to 4pm CDT.

And last but not least, art FBF should start up here in a few hours so I'll let everybody know what Jacob says. :)

ETA 10:02am CDT: Jacob is running late. ;)) So just sitting here watching the chat and people are trying to guess when the new area will be coming out. For curiosity's sake, I went and looked up on the MH Wiki timeline and saw that the Fiery Warpath was released March 22nd (did NOT remember it came out in the middle of event season), the Muridae Market was released on June 2nd, and the Crystal Library was released on August 9th. So average is a little over 2 months to do a new area.

Jacob has arrived, here we go....

ETA 10:27am CDT:
Yes, Jacob will be drawing a spoilerish mouse for the new area today.
There will be a large-ish number of new trap components (including but not limited to traps, bases, charms etc etc) and crafting will be involved.
Spoilerspoilerspoilerspoilersssss.....
http://www.mousehuntgame.com/forum/show ... ed-drawing
Jacob is saying nothing on when it will be released or if a rank for the new area has been determined.
Jacob said there will be lots of mice yaaaaaaaaay!!!!! :D :D :D And between that and the new trap stuff, finishing up the new area will likely bottleneck on the artwork ;)) That's why Mike is helping draw.
Jacob confirms that the new area will be a cold, tundra/arctic type area.

Six spoilers have been shown, the first of which is the re-drawing for the contest winner from a few weeks ago, the other five are for the new area. All are available on the link above.

We're doing INSANELY well in our tournament right now. For the first hour we were holding 1st! Then we slipped to 2nd, and right now we're in 3rd. I only wish that this was worth more tokens ;)) 3rd place is just 2 tokens. 2nd place is 3 tokens, and 1st place is 5 tokens.

:-o Congratulations FK, on placing first!!! You guys are awesome. B-)

I didn't get a chance to say so earlier, but before the egg hunt was over, I managed to snag a Gauntlet Bard Egg. :D

I have a question concerning Obelisks. There's the Obelisk of Slumber and Obelisk of Incineration. Can both be bought at the trap smith? Or is one bought and the other just a blueprint? I'm trying to avoid traveling in order to save my gold. And all the Mousehunt guides are each giving me different information.

Also, which one is better, and are they the same price?

Thanks :D Yeah, we were all pretty excited. Though in all fairness, while there is some skill involved (making sure everyone is online through the whole tournament and making sure nobody ever misses a hunt), for the most part it's sheer luck and we caught a lot of Monster Mice this tournament. :)

In answer to your question, the Obelisk of Slumber (OoS) is the basic trap that you have to buy for the Catacombs area. The Obelisk of Incineration and the ACRONYM trap (Arcane Capturing Rod of Never Yielding Mystery) are both traps built off of the OoS.
The Obelisk of Incineration was designed waaaay back in the day when SuperBrie just was not available, which you need to build the ACRONYM. But now with SB+ pretty easy to get, the Obelisk of Incineration is obselete unless you just want it to add to your collection. Maybe someday they'll require it for crafting another arcane trap, but right now it's a waste of money.
Buy the Obelisk of Slumber, and plan on upgrading it to the ACRONYM trap. :)

Loving the new mouse design (for obvious reasons) I'm glad they went with the gray instead of the brown... (But I'm a little biased) And I just love the eyes.

Congrats to all of you who finished 1st place!
