So, I've attempted to get two Furoma Assignments now. The first required ZLM and the second required the Onyx Mallet. I don't have either (and haven't had the chance to craft the second since they introduced Sojo after my initial run through Furoma). Should I skip the Furoma assignments or attempt to acquire one of the traps? I'd like to do at least one Furoma assignment so I can have an excuse to go through and catch the Sojo and so I can farm for Onyx Stones for the Reaper's Perch later on, but if it's going to be more of a headache than if I didn't do them then I won't bother.
ETA: I've considered waiting to complete the part of the task that requires Onyx Hammer until I've finished the rest and can craft the silly trap.
ETA 2: Cancel that last idea. 12 Onyx Stones to craft the Hammer, plus who knows how many to catch the Sojo? No thanks. I choose life.

If you have the traps, the furoma assignments are without a doubt the best. The rewards are very good, and they go by pretty quickly. . . that being said, I don't have ZLM and I'm pretty sure that the Onyx Mallet is a complete and total waste of gold.
If you want a SOJO, just go for it. . . but I'd stick to Seasonal Garden assignments unless you're willing to shell out beaucoup cash.

Finished my SOJO run, back to FW, wave 1, here I come, I really want an SBM this time, so I can build my monstrobot
I got tired of farming gold (it's been known to happen) and so I too am back in the warpath. I'll be in wave 2 within the hour (unless I have heinously bad luck )

No matter where you choose to do Library assignments (Furoma vs SG/ZT) you're going to a number of assignments that require a trap or base that's otherwise pointless and useless. It's entirely up to you to decide which traps and bases you don't mind shelling out some gold for to get through the Library more quickly so you don't have to keep smashing assignments and then waiting an hour for another. (I would recommend buying the Bamboozler Base because it's relatively inexpensive and both areas ask for it a lot.)
I don't know if you've seen it yet, but the Wiki has a really nice page where the list all of the Library Assignments so you can glance through and see what's required. http://mhwiki.hitgrab.com/wiki/index.ph ... ssignments
Another tip for you, should you decide to farm Onyx Stones, use your King's Credits to buy Cheese Belt/Claw/Fang Token packs, and if you have Tournament Tokens you don't mind using, you can get Furoma Champion Kits. That'll let you skip straight to the Masters. I believe that's what wil does to farm gold.
I have heard that Radioactive Blue Cheese is more effective when made with SuperBrie than just plain Brie. But what happens if you make some with SB and, later, more with plain Brie? Does it separate them? Or group both together?
What you probably read is that the Radioactive Blue Cheese POTIONS are more effective when made with SB+. And you'll find that's the case with pretty much every potion out there. For example...
At Master level, one Radioactive Blue Cheese Potion will convert....
30SB+ Cheese to 30 RB Cheese for 0g
OR
10 Brie Cheese to 10 RB Cheese for 300g/piece
So you take your pick on which conversion you want every time you use a potion. (In the early stages of the game, I recommend Brie. Save your SB+ for more important things.) Like Kat said, the cheese you get is exactly the same.
I'm in the Warpath, about to wrap up Warriors on Wave 3, then it's onto Archers. My team has a Muridae Market tournament that starts in 3 hours or so, hopefully that will go well.
I'm up to 187 pieces of Scrap Metal... almost there!
On the Onyx Mallet... It's a cool trap just doesn't have awesome stats... but it looks the part...
They should make an Onyx Mallet Upgrade like the Enraged Rhinobot or HVMT.. that'd make me happy

There are a NUMBER of traps to which I'd rather see an upgrade. . . particularly ACRONYM.

Based on DiGs' and FK's advice, I'm going ahead with the Pagoda Assignment I have, and I'll be buying ZLM and the Bamboozler Base before I get my Technic Pawn Pincher. Hopefully I'll be able to get an extra Master's Seal on this Asst. and finally be able to craft my Ambush trap.
It's nice to have a plan, even if it is a bit of a long-term one.

I'm sorry you have to buy all of those traps, Stwin. I think it's really stupid planning on the devs parts to have ZLM be a requirement for so many challenges. EVERYBODY uses their ZLM to craft ZFM for the Tower. Ah well. . .you'll probably move through the library quicker than I did.
And I absolutely cannot believe that you have never crafted Ambush. . . how did you survive furoma the first time through

Although an upgrade to ACRONYM would be incredibly awesome, I'd argue it's not needed yet considering it's still a pretty powerful multi-purpose trap, and the most powerful of the Arcane traps.
I'd argue the shadow traps need some new upgrades, mainly because they are some of the weakest power types. And the Onyx Mallet, because by the time most hunters get the blue prints, it's become obsolete.

The saddest part is I actually bought a second ZLM on accident in an attempt to craft ZFM ... and sold it back. *facepalm*
I caught exactly one Mojo and used the Stone to craft ACRONYM. That's how. I wasn't a huge fan of Furoma at first because of the crafting involved. Now, it's just an everyday thing.

I see. . . you were one of those insanely lucky people who caught a Mojo with the Mutated Venus Mouse Trap, weren't you? I went through a hundred tortures to get those mice .
