I had always heard you’re not supposed to “drink and drive” as a kid so one day I thought my mom was breaking the law because she was drinking a diet coke while driving the car.

I did too! I even told my father once to stop, while he was doing it.

For quite a long time, I thought 'strawberry blond' meant 'pink hair'. This was especially hilarious because I was reading Nancy Drew books at the time, and when Nancy was described as a strawberry blond I kept picturing her with pink hair!

Wow I did that too! I found out it the true meaning of it though when I asked my mom "why is it that you can't drink and drive, but you can eat and drive??"

I always heard the term "turning the ball over" when my family was discussing basketball games and thought it meant literally flipping the ball over so its other side faced up, and I failed to see why that was a bad thing for the game.

I thought toys were actually like the ones in Toy Story where they all came to life when you left the room

^Oh ya. I was sure that toys came to life when you weren't looking. In fact I believed it so much that I would watch my toys out of the corner of my eye, waiting for them to "come to life" so I can catch them!

I even thought that maybe someone should set up a secret camera to spy on the toys to see if they moved. HAHAHA....I was such a weird child (still am!)

I used to think that putting on make-up was painful, because my mother always pulled wierd faces when she was puttong on hers, especially her mascara. Now I do the same thing.

I used to think parents didn't have names when I was little, I thought they were just "Mom and Dad". When my mom told me her name was Annette, I stubbornly didn't believe her for a long time.

I used to think that snow came from little buckets that were hanging in the sky.....

I used to think that my food had feelings. And if I didn't eat it, it would would mourn getting thrown in the trash...
